All Welcome
AW, tagging @Julep @Whiskey @Fawnskin @Doe @Szymon - in which the furry potatoes squirm and do NUFFINK! pp of him 100% ok

he had been sleeping soundly until a paw stepped on his noggin; rude! with a loud squall the child pulled back clumsily, aware of nothing but how cold he was. with an insistent whine the small little thing wriggled forward, trying to push the other unidentifiable lumps out of his way. he met resistance and with a loud yawp decided to crawl over the obstruction, whatever it was. he settled, feeling warm and content again. winner!

Rude was the way that other poop kept crawling over her like she was nothing! Did he not know when to stop? DAMNIT! The cry had been hers, of course. A puppy curse, because that thing deserved it, but puppy-swearing was not sufficient in these cases. More drastic measures had to be taken for the sake of her pride.

Julep had surely had enough of his poop and decided that if things would change she might as well make it happen herself. So in the logical order of things -as the other poop had made them- Julep did the exact same thing, not really knowing whether she was even crawling on top of the right poop. She was clumsy, hardly even crawing correctly, but she made it up there in due time. But that was not enough, no. Julep kinda forgot she was up there somehow (or did she even?), and peed right up there. Yep, she peed on top of one of her siblings, and she was so happy about it she released a squeal of victory! SUCK THAT LOOSER. That ought to fix the cold problem of his, at least...

omg i think i love u LMAO

isengrim didn't have time to rest on his laurels; no -- no sooner had he squashed the uprising, did the uprising squash him. he bleated loudly as a foot connected with his mouth -- and then he cried again as the weight shifted and pushed his gums and eyes up in an absurd grin.

he squirmed in protest, freezing as an unfamiliar sensation trickled over him. it was warm at first, so he didn't mind it -- but once it had run its small course he was left shivering, unsure. he wasn't about to left behind though and clambered again for the source of warmth, competing by jostling shoves and rudepaw little feet. he would use whatever he could to step on and over, consequences or children be damned. he was too young to recognize the affront in julep's torrent, but rest be sured, he would get his eventually.

Doe had been sleeping when the weak bleating of her young began to assault her ears. Yellow eyes blinked wearily open and looked down upon the tiny creatures that'd been brought forth sometime prior to these events; Doe didn't know fully when it'd happened. Time passed strangely within the walls of Stone Den. It was only broken by the few visitors she'd received thus far.

Curiously, she watched as brother and sister wrestled for dominance. It was a game that Doe knew well; a smaller, pinker Doe had played similiar games with her smaller, fatter brother. It'd looked much like this - two tiny beans, one ruddy and one dark, wibble-wobbling all over each other. As they progressed in age, Doe wondered if they would mirror hers and Buck's own evolution. She'd had the upper hand when they were young, growing faster than her brother in their rapid-growth periods. In the end, though, Buck had kept growing when Doe herself had stopped. Life was cruel that way, but at least Buck had protected her when she needed it. Doe would have to train Isengrim to protect his sisters the same way. Even Qilaq might one day need him to champion her.

"But not today," Doe hummed to herself, looking fondly down at her little beans. Two of them were still unnamed, but they all held a special place in her heart. And then, only three of them did as the fourth began to urinate on her siblings. Further investigation revealed that Julep was the offender. "Silly girl," Doe murmured as she - uncerimoniously - nosed Julep off of her perch. The child tumbled away and left three fragrant pups in her wake. Doe began to clean the most sickly of them first, but quickly moved through all three of the soiled children before she turned her attention back to Julep. She was less dirty than the rest, but Doe still gave her a once-over.

"Now try to stay clean," she warned, arranging them all carefully back around her teats. She made sure to give the unamed children the most room to nurse. Though she felt they needed their siblings added warmth, she was wary of allowing the bigger two pups to bully away their meals.

the little thing wormed his way up top - that was, until a nose pushed both he and his sibling aside. with a small hiccup of protest he became unbalanced, rolling onto his pudgy side with little legs flailing. he struggled to right himself, and eventually succeeded after a few uncoordinated fumbles.

with a quiet yawp the child settled close to his mother, falling asleep as she gently cleaned him.

As quickly as the game had turned in her favor, it was over. The great one had made an entrance, stopping Julep's reign of terror with her cold, wet pointer. She tried to battle, but her efforts were useless. Julep was thrown off-board roughly, and fell flat on her belly without much opposition.

But things had not ended there, for the great one decided it was once more time for a bath. Julep did not need it, and she tried to communicate this through yelps and kicking, but those efforts had also gone unrewarded. Although warm, the great one's tongue was wet and raspy, two things Julep had yet to find a liking for. Milk, instead, was a treasure, and when Julep was placed along her siblings in a line to latch on to a teat the red girl picked on her fiercely only to be, once again, rewarded with sweet nothing. A broken teat. Seriously? This was about to change, and she would make it so by nosing through the other poop's bodies until she found a teat that worked.

Szymon watched the den’s activity with great interest, moving forward from his place in the den mouth — old habits die hard, and he was terrified of destroying the wonder that Doe had created — to curve his body around his children. His eyes went first to the sleeping boy — storm-furred son of his rust-and-steel mother — but passed with equal fervor over the squalling warrior who was hell-bent on shouldering her weaker siblings out of the way to feed. “She will be a great warrior,” he remarked, poking some fun at his beloved with a mischievous glint in his golden eyes. “Her hunger alone is a thing to be feared — like her mother’s.” Doe was notoriously possessive over her favorite cache, and Szymon wouldn’t have it any other way. He remembered the first day he’d met her — wet and shaking and dizzy and skinny; “whoa,” she’d said, barely able to figure out her name. The Sea had given her to Szymon, not once but twice. Mine, he thought greedily. Speaking of hunger, “Are you hungry? Do you need anything?” he asked. He reached forth with his nose to prod lightly at the two weaker cubs with the air of a man adjusting the placement of hamburgers on a grill — there may not have been any real reason for his doing so, but it felt good to be doing something to help.

Their piping did not bother the vapid shewolf, who got a mindless sort of enjoyment out of their varying calls. Most creatures would find the constant squalling irritating, but not Doe. Whether they were happy or enraged, it tickled her to no end that she'd made these creatures - cooked them up in her own belly - and now they were making sounds.

Sometimes, she would chime in with them, adding her own voice to spice up their songs, but for the most part, she just listened, intervening only when necessary or when she grew too endeared with them to restrain herself.

Her doting was interrupted when Szymon appeared, making his usually silly joke. Doe let out a mirthful bark, tail sweeping feathers up into the air as it fanned out behind her.

"Don't teach them your humor, Szy," she scolded, allowing him to prod the kids as he saw fit.

Szymon grinned devilishly at his mate, responding to her scolding with a derisive snort that tossed a flurry of feathers over their children. Amused, he left them where they landed, on noses and rumps and crowns and paws. “I will only teach them my best jokes,” he vowed, which…honestly wasn’t very promising at all. [The world’s best dad joke is still a dad joke, after all.] His expression grew serious as a thought occurred to him. “How does Qilaq feel about them?” he asked, feeling a little guilty about his oldest daughter. It seemed difficult for her to grasp certain abstract concepts — and part of that was Szymon’s basic inability to explain them. He hadn’t even tried with this one, but he knew that Doe had spoken with their girl about the difference between Amayo and Mama and the conversation had been a painful and confusing one for both parties.
