Once she and Aduin had gone on their walk, Brandy found it okay to wander a little bit more frequently from the Fen -- never as far as they'd gone, not for more than a few hours -- and enjoy herself.

Today found her sniffing around on the other side of Bramblepoint, lapping up an icy drink from Big Salmon Lake. Her anxieties were slight, even with the looming worry that Sebastian was somehow mad at her. Finally she understood why Ambrosia had always gone and wandered for hours on end. While the younger Valentine didn't feel the need to go as far, she sure did share the wanderlust with her mother.

After she'd had her fill, the lean yearling padded towards an open meadow she'd never been in before, as far as she knew. The wind against her copper back, she couldn't scent the pack living on the other side of it: though she was barely on the fringes of the meadow, she knew better than anyone what trouble being close to some borders could bring.

For @Eméliee Needs to be Mercenary thread somehow, but whether its a friendly spar or a fight is fine with me!

It wasn't often that Emma left the packlands without a proper reason to, but something about the morning's air told her to take the liberty of a walk. After the...conversation with her son, she needed time away anyway. Not far from the territory, she was greeted with an opportunity, and immediately decided that she'd made the right decision.
Now, had this been any other situation in which she'd spotted the young woman beside the meadow, Emma might've ignored her. But it was the rush of conflict that drew her further. She knew nothing of her opponent other than the fact that she was open and Emma was ready.
Not one to approach an enemy without warning, Emèlie released her infamous rumble before approaching at a slow jog, though quickly adjusting to a sprint. Her hackles were raised and her ears were back -- a brawl was in order.
As she drew closer, she lunged forward, aiming for the woman's shoulder. Emèlie took care to avoid any of the more sensitive parts of her body; she wanted the fun to last as long as possible.

It was the rumble of paws slapping the earth that drew Brandy's attention, but the growl of warning that brought her head spinning to the woman. At first, the yearling stopped and sniffed the air -- there was the faint scent of a pack across the meadow, but were they really this territorial? Irritation rose within her, and as Emma broke into a sprint, the young warrior crouched with her ears fanning back -- her lips pulled back over her fangs, and she bellowed a snarl. The fur of her spine erected, standing on end and quivering in the breeze.

There was no halting the attack, but secretly Brandy was glad. A good fight might do her well, and hopefully she was too far from the Fen for it to come back and bite her in the ass.... Much less literally than the blow to her shoulder, which the yearling took in stride. Her stable stance kept her from sliding back far, but the gash that opened up on her shoulder hurt like bloody damn hell. As soon as Emma made contact, however, Brandy snapped her fangs for the Blackfeather Woods subordinate's face. She wished she'd have tried to dodge, tried to find another opening to flash her fangs, for now not only did her shoulder hurt, it would inhibit her from quicker, lither movements. The copper girl would have to rely on brute force she didn't have compared to a fully mature female, even warrior raised as Brandy was.

A success. Emma felt her teeth sink into the girl's flesh, though her grip was released almost immediately, as the girl fell away and snapped back for Emma's face, ripping a gash on her snout. She released a low rumble, a warning for Brandy to run, though she knew it would fall on deaf ears. Thus, she lunged forward and snapped at her opponent, aiming for whatever her teeth could grip onto. A good fight was what she needed. Yes -- just one good battle to release her anger.

Both took their respective hits in stride, parting momentarily. The woman growled a warning, but neither female would be backing down yet. Emelie lunged forward again, and Brandy jumped back through the burn of her wound just in time for a repeat offence on her opposite shoulder -- blood gushed a little, but it didn't deter her from snaking forward again, keeping her head low to protect her throat and going for another rake of her teeth to whatever frontal area they landed on. This time it was the copper yearling that snarled, but it was not to warn her off -- it was weeks of energy built up, with an aggresive outlet she didn't need to hold back on.

Emma had to give the runt props; she packed one hell of a punch. As Brandy lunged forward, finding an easy grip on the Em's scruff, she jumped back before a deadly clamp was made. Taking a moment to shake off the close call, Emma laughed once more and spoke in a low voice to her opponent, You've got balls kid. Those words remained lingering in the air as the last action taken before she lunged forward in an attempt to clamp down on the woman's face. She wanted blood, but this was getting too good to kill Brandy off just yet.

Though her teeth make contact, the woman slipped from her grasp before Brandy can secure a grip and the two part -- this time, it is a longer lull, and the both get a soft flurry of praise in before they are going at it again. Loosing a heavy breath, the yearling finds that the corners of her lips were pulled up in a faint smile -- it is from adrenaline and excitement, she is sure, but the compliment is nice to linger on in the back of her mind.

"I've got skill.... And you do too."

She was a trained warrior, young as she was, not some fumbling youth that couldn't care for herself. As Emelie lunged forward, teeth flashing for Brandy's already scarred face, the yearling chose to back away; her paws carried her backward, out of the range of Emma's fangs and dancing to the side. This time, instead of going for a pin, Brandy made for the darker woman's ribs, her own ivory jaws aiming to rip at whatever she could possibly get ahold of.

It was a quick slip away from the girl's jaw, but Emma made it before sprinting off into the shadows.
