Sure, Njal and Tuwawi were an item, but that was a different bond than that of mother and son or brother and sister.

There is such a thing as strength in numbers.” In fact, having more adults who were capable would be better for the children. It was those who were sick or weak that Fox did not want among her ranks right now. The children would fall into that role, and there would be room for no others.
