Looking for one of the packmates he hasn't yet met :3

Zephyr trudged through the freshly fallen snow of the early morning -- the sun had yet to rise, but that'd never stopped the ebony man's wandering -- just a little bit away from the rest of the pack. He'd only just receded from their line of sight when the scent of a rabbit flooded his nose, and his ivory paws crunched softly through the layers of new snowfall as he tracked the meal: before long, its almost sand colored pelt was shifting ahead in search of its own breakfast.

Stalking forward, it was a real effort for the dark brute to keep both hidden and quiet in even the dark morning with such snow having fallen in the night. Once, the bunny even startled, hopping a few paces away -- and into more open ranges -- but didn't seem to have really noticed the Maverick's presence. It was this that allowed him to creep closer up behind it, and eventually to dash ahead and snatch it by the neck. A swift kick of its hind legs earned the man a faint and shallow scratch across the muzzle, but not something he'd so much as look twice at. Zephyr ended its life with a silent thanks for the one it would sustain this winter, and right where he was ripped into the belly. Standing, his apple eyes roamed the area around him with reserved caution -- there had been a few newcomers to the pack, and he always expected to run into someone he didn't know when he was out like this.

His watchful gaze caught the silhouette of another trekking along the shadows, and his hackles raised -- a soft growl sounded in his throat as a warning, telling whomever it was to mind themselves and that this was his meal, but not mean either. Company, as always, was welcome, but even the kindhearted brute didn't relish the thought of giving his kill to another wolf.
