All Welcome

The snow began to melt, and Božena felt her limbs slowly become more mobile. No longer did she feel she had to lurk inside the cave that she had named her camp; she felt ready and able enough to set up herself here.

She did not know if she would be allowed back to see the mute boy again, at least, be with him as a packmate, but she was now used to being lonely. She no longer had any true interest in being in a group, relying on others for support; she was enough for her. At least, that's what she told herself as she cleaned the clearing around her den to make it more presentable for herself.

Somehow she'd made it this far, but there was no real way to know how, because Bronze couldn't recall the past few days. Actually, she had a hard time with the past few hours — every five or six, it was like her mind did a mental wipe.

By the time Bronze came to a stop this time, she was in full-fledged conversation mode with herself again. Or maybe one of the tiny starlings she was staring at in such a fixed manner; they had noticed her bizarre inattention to their flitting and swooping, and upon deciding she was not a threat, began to play with her.

Do you have to do that? Hey! Yowch!! One of the starlings dashed out and landed atop her head, but only long enough to clasp her ear and pinch it with its beak, then dive-bomb off again. After the shock of the pain she would turn her head and snap her teeth, but then the bird was already gone, and after a second the girl forgot all about it. Another landed on her shoulder, pulled out some fur, and was off again — and a third landed on her snout just to peck at her black nose.

What is up with birds these days? Bold little — oww!

The land here is hard enough for her to use a long dried out branch to swipe through the clearing, removing the leaves, small twigs and rocks that cluttered the dirt in front of her abode. The movement is a bit harder for her to do than expected, but the woman succeeds in moving the clutter to a pile, far from the mouth of her den, gradually building it with each swipe. She stopped, the sound of birds' chirps and voices nearby distracting her from her task. With annoyed huff, she dropped the makeshift "broom", storming over to rage at the loud creature.

She snorts with laughter at the eventual sight of a woman, being attacked by birds. The sight would have been an omen had she been in the right mood, or better yet, if they were the right birds, but Božena could only laugh at the woman as she was attacked by the aggressive little creatures. You're too close to zheir homes!

The birds zinged and zoomed around her face, grabbing her ears or her nose, sometimes her lips, and Bronze just couldn't escape them. When a voice broke through the beating of their tiny wings, she turned sharply to address the stranger, but was quickly curtailed by a larger sparrow smacking her square between the eyes with its feathery gut. Bronze went briefly cross-eyed, then shook her head and snapped at the objects in orbit around her.

They - snap live in snap trees! snap.

If she was meant to avoid every tree nearby, she was doomed to a life of facial swarming.

The birds did not ignore her, but she was still far away to be innocent of the crimes they placed on the woman. She did not seem to be hurt, just yet. She knows that birds can be extremely dangerous, especially in large groups and when riled up enough. Still too close, She chuckled. Come 'ere, She beckoned, walking back towards her den, where they would be safe.
