All Welcome
There was ice everywhere .

this excited the young girl beyond measure, and she was joyful skidding across the snow, sliding on her but. The ice storm last night had been amazing, the first she had seen of it's kind, and she loved the way the trees and ground and every single thing shone and was covered with translucent ice. Everything as beautiful, and new, and though the girl had suffered a few close calls playing on the ice, she was totally naive to how deadly the freeze could be.

the trees drew her, and she skid toward them rapidly, with all teir bejeweled beanchesbeaches and trunks that shone with the midday light. An incline led to the trees, and instinctively, her paws moved to stop her. But her claws skittered across the ice, frictionless, and with a yelp as her front limbs split in two different directions alost comically, she begun a messy descent of flailing limbs and claws trying to find traction.

it was with a bang that had her bbreath flee did her fall come to an end, a tree having stopped her fall. She gasped for breath, gaze tear and heart fluttering at the sudden hurt that lanced through her side.

Unaware of the dangers that cold air could pose, Sunny was out exploring again in the snow occasionally slipping and falling onto his face beautifully only to stand up and continue on his merry way. He had reached a hill when suddenly Keoni came tumbling down in a ungraceful mess of flying fur only to crash into a tree. Letting out a concerned gasp he scampered over sliding and sprawling a few times before reaching the girl "are you okay Keoni? Do you need Valette?"  he asked his voice trembling at the sight of Keoni's teary eyes.

Licking her cheek comfortingly he pressed against her, offering his small amount of body warmth hoping to make her feel better in any way possible. "Its real slippery out here"  he said softly, stating the obvious in a small insecure voice.

The hurt was great, it pounded every time she inhaled, exhaled, and it's suddenness shocked her. She did not move, did not notice the arrival of the little boy, until he was beside her, words falling on ears half-deaf. But she turned to him a moment after, picking herself up labourusly. "I-I'm fine" She muttered, angry at herself for her clumsiness. Stupid ice.

She blinked as the boy pressed against her, voice small. Her upset was obviously making him nervous, she realized, and though she'd like for him not to be scared, she could hardly ignore the pain. She steadied her breathing in an attempt to dull the hurt, and it worked...somewhat. "Yeah" she agreed with a slightly shaky voice, peering down at the younger boy. He reminded her in some ways of Nikai, for her brother was constantly there for her, and the boy seemed to be compassionte in the same way. She squuezed her eyes shut a minute, and if the boy were not here, she'd likely scream her frustration at the tree.

She stood up and he could sense her frustration. Stepping away to give her space he offered her a smile "Once I was trying to catch a grasshopper and when I pounced, I landed square on my nose. It happens." he said as widely as possible.  He didn't like seeing anyone upset and wished he knew how to help keep peoples spirits bright. Anger and sadness were such horrible emotions, nobody should have to feel then.

looking At her he had an idea "you wanna see something cool? Its real pretty too" he asked her eagerly.

Still slightly out of it, she squinted at him. Grasshoper? In the winter? Had to be a pretty tough grasshoper, she reasoned, as they seemed to vanish in the fall. She expected more bugs to freeze solid in the snows, though perhaps he had seen some other kind of snow insect, which would be pretty cool...a wince of pain brought her back to now, and she set on her haunches, not too keen on moving anytime soon. Finding Sunny's snow insect would have to be something pursued another time, as she was currently more focused on her pain.

The two-month old continued, something about something cool, and finding herself intruiged once again by the uncanny amount of words the tiny boy knew (for they seemed odd coming out of such a small child), she nodded. It still hurt something feirce, though perhaps movement would help. Or not. She was hardly going to sit here on her but, however.

He was glad she agreed to folow him, for he had never seen anything like it. So he led her to it, a partially grown tree with alot of icicles dangling off the branches the light reflecting off of them and making odd sorts of colors and sparkles. At the sight he grinned, his tail wagging rapidly as he waited for her reaction. For some reason he felt if she didnt like it, it would ruin the whole thing. He really wanted her to like it so he spoke up "I dont know what they are, but they're pretty cool".

she followed, albiet a little more labourously, and wondered what the wonders the odd little boy had discovered that were so interesting to him. and soon she had her answer, and it was with a smile she realized that something so mundane seemed amazing to the boy. Even if they were beautiful, she had never paid them much mind. but these were huge; enhanced by the ice storm, most likely.

"They're called Icicles." she said, turning to the boy with a small smile. spotting a rather large one, she carefully placed her paws on the tree, rearing up and grasping it in her maw. She twisted her muzzle, until the crystal-like object snapped, and she held the majority of the thing in her paw. Carefully lowering herself to the ground, to the protest of her sore ribs, she presented the thing to the boy. "Here, see? It's made of ice."

To his demise she didn't seem very impressed, but instead gave the strange formations a name. "Icicles...hmm" he said unimpressed with the name. His ears perked forward and his tail gave a hesitant wag as she walked over to one, and broke.it.in.half! He gave a startled yelp but then ran over and nosed it with curiousity. Being a small and young wolf, he didnt know better than to stick his tongue onto it. Once his tongue was attached he went to lick at the icicle but found his tongue was stuck. Whimpering with fear he tugged at it "ith won leth o!" he squealed though his words were screwed up due to not being able to use his tongue.

of course, his tongue had to get stuck to it. she snorted, fighting a grin as he struggled with the icicle. she would not have know such a thing to happen should it not have already happened to her, and she had quicky found the best way to rid one's tongue of the crystal. "Calm down, Sunny." she siad with a light smile, rising to approach him. "Close your mouth around it, and just...kind breath on it." she told him, knowing that warmth melted the ice and ruined whatever attracted it to tongues just so much. a hesitant lap at such an icicle a while ago had led her to discover this, and she was glad she had.

Keoni's words brought him out of his panic and he nodded. Closing his mouth but keeping his lips away from the ice he huffed on the icicle with warm breaths. After a few moments of long exhales he was able to separate his tongue from the solid ice and stumble back. His tongue still stuck out of his mouth slightly for a few awkward moments before he pulled it back into his mouth and wet it again.

Sunny looked at Keoni and wagged his tail smiling in an embarrassed fashion "Prolly should have thought things through first" he said and ducked his head. She was so smart and much more knowledgeable about the world than him, it made him feel nervous but also he admired her.

The little boy managed to get the icicle from his maw, promting a smile from the older girl. He seemed abashed, and her tail lashed reassuringly. She was not the sort to feel abashed very much, if ever. Sunny, in some ways, reminded her of her brother, who she loved deeply, and her bond to him was perhaps even stronger than that with Valette and Steady, for he had been at her side through all this.

she sat, watching him. "nah" she began, amused slightly by his sheepishness. "You didn't know. You can't expect to; I didn't expect my tongue to stick to an icicle the first time either." she offered with a smile, watching him with eyes glinting with mirth.

Sunny nodded with a small smile and moved forward, touching his muzzle to her neck before pulling away shyly and giving her a lopsided grin "Thanks again keoni, Maybe we should get home?" he suggested. Valette would prbably be worrying about her, and Grayday would worry about him. He had had alot of fun with Keoni today, even though he had gotten his tongue stuck to an icicle. He gave a way look toward the icicle and decided he would never go near one again. EVER.
