The waterway made his travels seem so insignificant. At least two days had bled together already. Silas hadn't kept track. Sometimes, if he traveled close enough, the sound of the waters could almost drown out his misery. This wasn't even the direction he had last scented Tambourine in, but he was starting to feel afraid to go back. Maybe.. it was safer this way. He could wander into the ether, or hell, the river's current Silas was tired of loss, and so it seemed, he was bound to suffer it again and again. Just when Tambourine had been all he had left, and the brightest light to his meager days.. of course he would vanish.

He knew he should have expected this, and maybe he felt guilty all over again, but there hung this worry. Something had to have happened to him, Silas reasoned; not without a single word to him. He had a bad feeling, but this was normal. This one felt bad. Everything felt bad. He couldn't get the wince off his face as he contemplated where to go from here.

But.

What if Tambourine came back?

He hated these what ifs. They were the same ones that had kept him in the Keep for as long as it had, and looking back, he still regretted it. Could he do that again, too?

But.

Silas knew Tambourine's unease with the Glade, and how poorly he fit among them. Maybe that would play a part in his return. Maybe it would be in his best interest to leave. Maybe he was just dead somewhere and all of this was for nothing. Silas hated these frighteningly endless unknowns too.

Somehow he brought himself far enough north to hear the waterfalls that poured from Aspen Lake up above. He swallowed thickly and began to head closer, angling slightly towards the northeast in his path. Feeling like he had little to lose, he trotted onward quietly with his head low.

Thanks for starting! <3
Exploring was a rarity for the Theta of Neverwinter Forest. Having never meandered past her territory's borders, Szabala found herself in an uncharacteristic jaunt. Feeling the need to reach beyond those pine-marked borders, the nine-month-old set off for nowhere in particular. Though the prospect of finding both her father and Dublin was always in the back of her mind, Szabala was maturing past such thoughts, and a shade of doubt clouded her mind. Though she hoped that she would find her wayward father, she knew that her chances of finding him were slim to none.

Her paws carried her further than she had ever ventured before. New sights kept the forefront of her mind occupied, keeping her thoughts relatively positive despite the darkness that laid just beyond her current train of thought.

She didn't know how long she had been wandering, but, in time, came across a sight that took her breath away. Pausing a safe distance away from both Silas and the falls, Szabala's eyes fell upon the waters, and she watched with her mouth agape. She had never seen anything quite like these falls and, in all honesty, the mere sight of them took her breath away. It was in her moment of enchantment that she did not even pay mind to the other wolf, a glaring misstep on her part, but at that moment any imminent danger did not even strike close to her mind. Instead, she enjoyed herself and took in sight, her tail waving slowly as she observed.

There came moments when he tried to take in the greater picture, but it only served to make his head spin unimaginably fast. It was so much, and his search for answers continued to come up empty. Often, he wondered what it was he was meant to do, besides turn his tail back to the Glade and return to wallow in his loss or run endlessly into the Wilds on a trail he couldn't seem to catch.

However, he had never seen waterfalls like those and he felt pulled in by the sight of it somehow despite all the weight in his chest. Somewhere between awe and wonder, but with his perpetual undertone of worry he couldn't bring himself to do more than creep forward stride by stride for a better look. It was this that brought him into view of a fellow stranger and she seemed focused on the waters as well. Not that he could blame her.

Silas swallowed thickly and began to move closer. "Uh, hi." he said with his ears down flat and posture showing his nervousness as he eyeballed the pale-coated female worriedly. But he meant no harm. "Have you ever seen it before?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steadier than he felt deep down.
