It was by chance that Atshen had tracked down the mushroom that the poisoned the rabbit near Potema's den. He was in the midst of a patrol within Blackfeather Woods when the familiar tang of the plant had caught his attention, and it was from there that he diverted his trek. There was the only one that had sprouted beneath a mangled tree root, and it was just a dot of scarlet that hid amongst the shadows, barely visible to the average passer-by. He beheld it for a moment, committing the sight to memory as he would continue to look for this piece of fungi. The tree was dying, perhaps at the will of the shroom, and Atshen couldn't help but stand back for a moment and take in the vegetation's death. If this mushroom had the ability to bring down a tree, Atshen was more than sure that it could bring down even the most stubborn of his enemies.

With the mushroom found, Atshen then set off from the tree, leaving his newest weapon behind. Slipping from the dappled sunlight of the early afternoon, Atshen began to seek out his next victim. It did not take the brute long to find a hare. Though he wasn't the best at hunting, the Silencer crept up on the rabbit. Snow crunched underfoot and he studdered at this, knowing that he would easily alert the mammal. His victim turned suddenly; it's beady eyes wide as panic overcame it. Acting quickly, Atshen leaped and grasped onto the creature's neck. It screeched wildly in his hold, and he clamped down harder in an attempt to silence its efforts.

His head was held high as they approached the and he bore the blows that the creature inflicted on him, knowing that the fate of it. When the arrive at the decaying tree, Atshen quickly thrust the creature towards the mushroom and forced it upon the fungi. Holding it there for quite some time, the Silencer eventually released it from its forced-consumption and turned towards the borders.

As he made his way through the forest, the creature became increasingly weakened as they progressed. Eventually, as he broke the treeline that marked the Brotherhood's territory, the hare was still. Placing it along the border, Atshen stood back and smiled as his eyes fell fondly upon his work.

Airi was away from the mountains once more, back to the valley where she saw the lake and the fire-eyed wolf. Airi gasped as she saw him, stalking confidently after a hare, his eyes bright and determined. It was all she could do to stay out of sight, peering from the brush at his muscular form. Airi watched appreciatively, gasping as he pounced and quickly killed the lapine. She was disappointed in the quickness of his kill, wishing him to elongate it further for her pleasure, but he wasn't aware of her.

Besides, he had something else in mind for the rabbit. Airi followed, as stealthily as she could, eventually seeing him walk towards a dark forest. What are you doing? She eventually called out to him, trotting over.

It was as Atshen was reaching down to deposit the creature onto the borders of Blackfeather Woods that a voice caught his attention. His ears perked and he remembered the voice from somewhere, but he did not turn until the rabbit laid upon the frost-bitten ground.

Turning from the hare, Atshen quickly recognized the girl from the lake and he growled as her scent washed over him. There were many questions that he had for her, namely what she was doing over here, but instead, instinct kicked in, and he felt tense at her presence. Cupping his ears forward, Atshen growled, realizing this child was all too close to his borders, and he voiced his concern at this, "You're too close to my pack." His words were a rumble within the depths of his throat.

He turned around, the vessel smiling triumphantly as he turned to see her. His confused, then angry gaze did nothing to phase her. Instead the young girl stepped forward slightly, smirking at his growl. She tried to remain unfazed, but he was larger and older than her. She was nothing if worthless compared to him. But she was resilent nonetheless. The girl snorted at his demand, but, in a rare smart move, wheeled around running a few lengths away from the dark forest, despite its pull. She called out to him. Is this fine?

He could feel him growing irritated as the girl snorted at his words. He opened his mouth, as if about to growl, but was pleasantly surprised at her next actions. Watching carefully, Airi retreated to a more comfortable distance and Atshen couldn't help but feel satisfied. Nodding in turn to her question, Atshen drew his attention from the Hatchling and towards the hare. He bowed towards it suddenly, nudging it to a proper hiding place as if to not make it's presence overly obvious.

He merely nodded in response, but did not turn to her again, instead focusing on the paltry carcass. Airi frowned, annoyed that she was left in the background. Airi snarled, taking a step forward. Hey! She snorted, her fangs baring in annoyance. I'm talking to you! Aren't I more important than some stupid dead rabbit?

Atshen felt the hairs along his nape prick as Airi piped up and he turned to her quickly. He commentary on that matter on hand reminded him of his estranged sister, and he wanted nothing to do with behavior like this. "No, you're not." He replied, his tail swaying slowly from side to side in a manner that expressed his irritation. "Go away."

Airi pouted as he denounced her presence, the behavior strange and annoying to the girl. Even those who despised what she said paid her mind. She however was being ignored, something she had never faced in her life. The girl snarled, trying to contain herself from lashing out and biting him on the ass, her attempt at mending whatever fault she made towards him. The girl skirted around him, trying to peek over his shoulder without stepping forward anymore. What are you doing that for anyway? She asked him, attempting to incite some kind of conversation.

He was quickly losing patience for this girl that he had seen before, and the annoyance was apparent in his expression. His tail went from swaying to an irritable flickering, and his eyes burned as they bore upon the Hatchling. Turning completely so that he faced her, Atshen snapped his jaws in her direction before uttering his last warning: "Go away." At this point, the raven-haired girl was as annoying as a gnat of a hot summer day and he had no patience for such a nuisance.

Airi had gotten no answer from the male, well, none that would satisfy her completely. Instead he turned around to snap at her, again asking her to go away. The feeling of air rushing in front of her face as the boy's jaws clamped shut triggered something in her. The girl's eyes went cold, her fangs baring indignantly before a roar echoed form her chest. Kono baka! Watashi ni fureru koto sae aete! She hissed before lunged forward to grasp the raven-pelted boy's muzzle, the object of her disgust.

She roared in a tongue that Atshen had never heard previously. Though he didn't have the slightest clue to just what she had said, the actions that followed gave him some indication. She was upon him swiftly and successfully stuck his muzzle. Feeling his anger peak at that moment, and roaring in a result of the pain, Atshen lifted a massive forepaw and swung, hoping to hit the woman off of his muzzle.

Airi smiles with excitement as she felt her blow connect: first blood! It brought a sudden surge of prid that made her instantly cocky as she held onto his muzzle, even as he roared in pain. That her first fight would begin with such a victory already made her judgement begin to cloud. Despite his physical strength, he was nothing compared to her, absolutel-

The girl's happiness did not last for very long after tasting blood, feeling a paw slam into her cheek. She let go with a shriek of pain, but did not let it last for long. She snarled, whirling to take advantage of her slightly perpendicular stance and lunged to grasp his scruff, her paws raising, one above aimed to land towards the base of his head, the other at his shoulders, to help cement the success of her attack, if it came.

Satisfied in his on strike, he soon was met as she made contact once more. Despite his pain, he realized quickly that her positioning caused the undertow of her chest to be vulnerable. It was as he winced at the pain of her latching on that Atshen surged forward and thrust his muzzle so that he could grab as her chest. If he were to make contact, he would to so with the intention of tipping deep into her chest.

Even as the blood dripped from her cheek, Airi again felt triumphant, her jaws bearing into the young man's neck, her fangs pressing down sharply to cut into the flesh of his neck, her claws pressing into his shoulders as she did so. She was so caught up in her attack that she barely recognized her open chest until it was too late, his muzzle catching onto her chest. Her paws remained on top of him even as her jaw released and tried to grab his muzzle once more, but with another push she would soon lose her balance.

Satisfied with the result of his advance, Atshen felt fueled by the heat of their battle. Feeling this new found burst of energy, despite the pain that throbbed from his muzzle, the Silencer surged forward in hopes of knocking the girl down.

Airi felt herself falling backwards and panicked, her attack on his muzzle becoming frenzied as she attempted to retaliate. She had no hopes of simply avoiding the fall, and instead resigned herself to make the wolf regret ever insulting her. She bites and scratches, untempered and unrestrained, with little thoughts in her actions.

Airi retaliates in her descent, and Atshen feels her wrath. As she attacks, Atshen attempted to dodge her blows, yet found himself still getting hit. Reaching forward with a forepaw, Atshen sought to hold down the girl once she fell. Additionally, to respond to her outburst, Atshen launched his neck forward to reach her neck-- as if to give the Hatchling her final warning.

Airi succeeds in hitting the boy, but it does not help her much in the long run. Eventually she is pinned under neath the larger youth, and she begins to batter his stomach with her paws, spewing curses and insults in both her mother's tongue and the common, too focused on getting him off to actually notice the real threat of his jaws around her neck.

He found himself in pain, yet, as he usually did, Atshen foolishly ignored this for getting back at the girl. With his jaws around her neck, Atshen bit down with every intention in the world to kill her right then and there. A low, satisfied, growl rumbled as he did this, satisfied in how easily she had made herself vulnerable to him.

It is nearly too late when she realizes what he is planning to do: kill her. Airi shrieks, quickly attempting to tuck her chin to her chest, his fangs tearing at her neck despite her quick movement. She tries her best to roll, to keep her most vital parts away from him, then trying to move from under him and flee.

Soon enough, in the midst of him inflicting his blow, Airi escapes. Somehow she was able to maneuver her body until she was free of his weight. Dumbfounded by how she had done, he watched her go, picking himself up triumphantly as he realized that her fleeing meant that the battle was his. When she was out of sight, Atshen slipped back into the forest where he would lick at his wounds until they stopped bleeding.
