All Welcome
Though she often lacked anything positive to say about the inland wolves and their home, Akantha was utterly enchanted by the Silverlight Terrace. She'd laid down to nap earlier in the day and when she finally woke, she was greeted with the impressive, elaborate, splendor of the Moonlight cast upon the terraced foothills. The pale light seemed to take on an almost silver cast as it spread wide across the soft grasses and stones of the landscape. Akantha wondered, as her hazel eyes widened to drink in the sight of the moon above, if this was some sort of fever dream.

She nipped at her own leg, pinching the skin which gave beneath her sharp teeth—yep, she was definitely not sleeping. She winced and lapped at the tiny prick of blood before drawing all four limbs beneath her and rising to her feet. Her tail hung limp between her hocks and, for the first time in many years, Akantha felt all but a child again as she looked around at the dreamscape. All around her the world was bathed in the pristine, clam, light of the Mother Moon; as if an artists hand had come to brush her silvern rays across the plains with a delicate brush.

Slowly she began to walk, allowing herself this moment of peace to take in the sights and simply enjoy herself as a creature of the Mother Moon and her Sister Sea.

There hasn’t been much to slow the brute down. He never had a destination in mind when he’d been forced out of his home. He doesn’t have a travelling companion to keep him company and help make decisions and he never quite felt the urge to try and find a place to rest his head more than one night in a row. He keeps himself fed and rested as best as he can with one eye open at night and, for what he’d considered good luck, has managed to travel without too many problems. The occasional wolf, unhappy with his proximity to claimed lands, would give him some grief but he often found his way out of it one way or another. Now, he keeps his distance great at the first sign of claimed territory.

He’s crossed through the taiga and the tip of the mountain, nearly touching the coast, but he finds his pull further inland. The ocean does little for him and without the great body of water looming over him he feels his feet on steadier ground.

The terrace has temporarily caught his attention as he moves through another sleepless night. They’ve come and gone here and there and he often wonders if he needs to settle down somewhere, putting his paws down in a place and devote himself to. Not having his family—or wolves he’s known since he was born—around have been a weird several weeks and he doesn’t have them to count on anymore. He doesn’t even know where they’ve all gone and finding them seems unlikely. He certainly doesn’t know where he’s going with the rest of his life and he can’t seem to care too much.

The view of another, however, catches his attention and his ears perk forward to listen. Her movement is only caught by the moonlight reflecting upon her fur and he rumbles low in his chest. With a few large steps, he moves to make himself visible so not to startle and chuffs a friendly greeting in her direction.

Short. <3

To her great displeasure, her solitude is interupted by the obviously masculine chuff of another and it takes every ounce of control to not snarl irritably at the noise. Her eyes tear away from the sky and settle on the grayscale wolf a short, but respectful, distance off. The cast of her eyes is frigid as she ascertains his intentions, health, and worth. It doesn't take long for her to come to a suitable conclusion, one that allows the flare of her hackles to flatten to a more measurable degree and her eyes to drift back to the sky, silently allowing him to join her.
