Mato does not return to the den when the sun begins it’s final descent and the moon rises to take it’s place. Most nights he makes his way back to the Rochester-Iosila family den at this time, but not tonight. He decides, instead, to stay out and enjoy the beauty of the sunset and watch the stars be born as they are re-born every night. Typically, he will go to the den, take a nap and then venture back out in the middle of the night to stargaze. Though his late night ventures are not necessarily a secret per say and surely someone, by now, has been curious enough to investigate. He does not think his adventures will cause him trouble — it is rare that he ventures too far from the den but as he grows so too does his curiosity and it does not stop at just the night sky. He is curious about the vast Wilds outside of his little corner of paradise. Broken Antler Fen is his home but he knows that there is much else outside of it and he finds that he is almost ravenous to discover what secrets and stories it holds.

For now, Mato is content to sit upon his favorite rock, it’s smooth surface still warm from the afternoon, and watch the sun set, all the while sneaking a peek at what stars he could see through the myriad of colors dusk has painted on the horizon: brilliant and vibrant reds and pinks, the few lingering clouds outlined in gold. He inhales deeply and lets it out in a soft sigh, drinking in the scents of a world that was changing seasons.

She too had been dying to see the stars like that.  While she had been very comitted to fishing lately and marking the borders, she hadn't had much time for her favorite hobby.  Stargazing.  So when the day begun it's transition into the night, she begins watchs the sunset feeling warm inside like the gorgeous tones painting the sky.

Still she is not content.

She searches around the Fen for a bit to find a better spot to gaze, but it takes her a bit, as she wants to find just the right place before the sun is gone completely and night is fully here... but suddenly Odette pauses, surprise filling her features.  Was that Mato she was seeing just over there?  Stargazing?  She had never recognized this hobby he could very well happen to have, but now that she does a burst of happiness explodes in her chest.  If he is she has so much she could teach him.  So much.  Maybe one day she could even take him to with her to pay a visit to Charon with her.  That is only of course if it is stargazing that he's doing.

So quietly Odie began to make her way towards her younger brother, meanwhile wondering if it was stargazing he was doing, because it sure did look like it.

"Hey Mato," she called out to him nonchalantly, "you stargazing?"  She asked him, once reaching him, sitting down near him.  "If you are," she continues not waiting for him to answer just yet, "I know some constellations and some stories about them."  Then she turned to face him, "you know stargazing is one of my personal favorite hobbies?"  She asked him rhetorically.  "If you're not though, that's fine too of course," Odette finished with a shrug.

He is easily wrapped up in the stars that stretched on above him, more and more exposed as the sky darkens and loses it’s sunset blush and he does not hear Odette until she calls out to him in greeting. He gives a start in a sharp intake of breath, his head whipping around to look at her, nearly losing his footing despite that she does not get an actual jump from him as Liri had several days ago. “Odette,” He breathes her name with a mixture of relief and apology. It was so easy for him to get lost in the stars but he chided himself that he really needed to start paying more attention to his surroundings. His eldest sister sits beside him and his tail gives a soft wag against the smooth rock, brushing it gently with the sweeping gesture at her question. “Yeah,” Mato answers because he saw no sense in lying about it. “Liri told me about Draco the other day,” He admits to Odette, but for now he does not tell her that he created a different ending to the story because he hadn’t liked the way that Liri’s story had ended.

His gaze slides from the stars to rest upon his sister. “I’d like to hear one.” He tells her, almost sheepishly. He knows that stargazing is one of her favorite hobbies and yet …he has never sought her about his interests. As he thinks about it he really isn’t sure why aside from that it was his for as long as he star-gazed in solitude (which then led to faint stirrings of guilt because stargazing wasn’t his alone — it was a hobby for everyone and as Odette is older than him it was hers first, technically). “…only if you want to share with me.” Mato adds almost shyly as he looks away from her and back to the stars.
