All Welcome
As much as he knew he needed to take time, to sit and think and process, Grayday couldn't find it in him to do so. Instead, he put his mind to herding turkeys toward the territory, toward patrolling the borders, toward keeping good meat in the caches and taking bad meat out of them. Most of the time, he took @Sunny and Dawn with him on these errands, wanting them to get used to the new rules and the sort of active lifestyle they would now be living. Somehow, the action-packed days only seemed to make it hard to get them to lay down for bed.

On this day, he'd left them to their own devices, giving them some of the last hours of freedom they would have for the forseeable future. Once they left the territory, every moment would be spent in each other's presence, and - more poignantly-  away from the rest of their family's.

Instead of using his time wisely, Grayday sat himself down in the middle of the territory and thought about everything and everyone that he'd miss while they were gone. Krypton, Valette, Calloon, Mara Susi, Keoni and Nikai...

A soft whine escaped his maw as he thought of his family, but Grayday knew it wouldn't be forever, and that this was, ultimately, for the good of him and his children.
