There is much to be said on the topic of light. Initially, there had been nothing but the glares of the sun's rays sneaking in through the den's entrance and onto Soni's tiny blue eyes. She had come to favor the corners of her home, often hiding her face in her mother's pelt to shield her from the outside. Occasionally, she would stir, allowing the light to shine back into the girl's eyes, sending cries and yelps to everyone who was near enough to hear them.

Soni had made another advancement; she was walking! Rather, stumbling along. For such a new skill, it seemed to be quite refined albeit with the occasional tumble. When this did happen, she would babble and laugh, managing to climb back onto all fours. This morning in particular, Soni woke up before the rest of her large family and tried her little trick of hobbling around their slumbering bodies. As she came nearer to the entrance, she tripped head over heels, landing with her eyes in a direct stream of the rising sun.

There was a blood-curdling gargle released as she scurried back into her mother's side, her small body quivering in fear.

Being vague on Spring again just in case!

It seemed screaming was always drawing him into the den with a start. This time he'd only just stumbled up, a hare hanging from his jaws. The scream from within sent him scrambling inside, only to find, once more, that his children were simply adept at expressing their distaste. He calmed his breathing, staring at the squirming child with a raised brow, releasing a sigh.

"It's alright," He cooed to her, not realizing exactly what had made her yell. He now blocked the offending sun, though he didn't realize. "Daddy's here. What's wrong, little one?" He didn't yet bend down, instead chosing to watch if she would move towards him first.

Seri had been sleeping when her sister Soni began to walk around. Her sturring caused Seri to wake and at first Seri only observed her sister. When her sister tumbled Seri cocked her head to the side, but then sat straight up as her sister let out a deafening noise. Soni then rushed back over to Spring's side and Seri climbed over one of her other siblings to get to Soni. Seri began sniffing her sister and nudging her face, wondering what had happened to her aswell, as well as comfort her.

Heston their father then came into the den and Seri was excited. She mading a yipping noise and went to him as fast as she could, which wasn't all that fast. She looked up at him and nudged herself against his leg. She then remembered that her sister had been scared of something. Seri then began to walk towards the entrance of the den trying to see what it was.

Something came in and blocked the offensive light, much to Soni's thanks. It smelled familiar, though not to the same degree as her mother who she remained beside. Of course, she knew the wolf as nothing more than a mobile bottle, but that was beside the point. Although she was taken aback by the sudden touch of another (who was recognized as one of her siblings once she came close enough), Soni soon relaxed into it and the shaking of her body halted.

Then the large thing spoke which reignited her fear. A small growl (more of a monotone whine) fell from her lips, preceding a tiny yip. There was nothing before her but white, as if a smoke screen had been placed directly over her eyes, hiding from her the beauty of the world. Perhaps this issue would solve itself in the coming weeks, but perhaps not. For now, all Soni knew was the blur beyond the white and the other tiny potatoes who had managed to break it.

Inside the den was a slight scene of chaos. His screaming child, who he soon after identified as Soni, had hurried back to Spring's side. A nonscreaming child was attending to the screaming one, which he found cute. Slowly he was starting to recognize them by their looks, and this one was Seri. He was pleased by their sisterly affection, though he unwittingly ended it when he spoke. He was equally pleased by the warm greeting that followed from Seri, and slightly disappointed by Soni's. He didn't mean to scare her. He bent to nuzzle Seri, rumbling softly in his chest with affection, though he hadn't missed the low whining-growl that had emerged from his other daughter.

"Shhh, shhh." He cooed at her, gently moving Seri back away from the entrance as he sank to the floor. The light entered the den a little more, making it easier to see them. "It's just Daddy." He said, as he nuzzled Seri, watching Soni as she lay away from him. He wanted to reach for her too, but not at the risk of terrifying her. "Soni, Soni, Soni." He sing-songed quietly, finding his comfort at this interaction slightly strange. But there were no pauses, he knew what to say and felt comfortable saying it. These were his children and he loved them. He'd probably find some way to fuck them up, but that would come later. He looked back to his pale daughter, nuzzling her. "Seri, Seri, Seri."

Before Seri could make it to the entrance of the den she was being pulled back in by Heston. As he pulled her, she pushed against him abit still wanting to head outside of the den. He began nuzzling her and speaking a bunch of giberish in Seri's mind. As he looked over at Soni, Seri cocked her head to the side not understanding what it was he was saying. Seri then looking over at Soni herself and made an inviting yip noise trying to coerce her into comming over.

As he looked back at Seri and began nuzzling her, Seri fell onto her back. After a quick realization moment she flailed her paws up at Heston trying to tap his muzzle.

Seri was, at least, attentive to him. She focused on him and his words. Whether or not they made any sense to her. As he nuzzled her she rolled onto her back and batted at his face. He was amazed at the delicate body of the child, amazed that some piece of him had helped to form her. He lowered his nose to her belly and blew air against her skin, attempting to tickle her.

"Seri, Seri," He cooed again, smiling at the girl. What would she grow to be like? He wondered. Would she be a leader? A hunter? What could she do in her life? She was full of possibility, and he knew he would give his life to protect hers. To protect any of his children.

As her father leaned his head down to tickle her Seri let out a playful squeal and flailed her limbs. It was an odd sensation as she wanted it to stop, but it was enjoyable at the same time. As this sensation waved over here her father again repeated the same words over and over again. She didn't know quite what it ment but a part of her would know to respond it it were ever said again.

She rolled back over unable to withstand this playful feeling any longer. She layed down on her belly panting slightly regaining her breath after the intense tickle session.

Her laughter made his heart glow. He knew when to stop though, to keep her from getting fearful of his palyfulness. She didn't know her name yet, though he didn't really expect her to. She would in time and until then he would repeat it to her like the unique song it was.

She rolled onto her belly again and he chuckled himself as she crouched there, panting. He licked the back of her head as well as her back a few times in a soothing manner to help calm her down. When he had finished he pulled his head back and looked down at her, waiting to see what she would do next.

Her fathers gently licks were soothing and cooling along her back and the back side of her head. She then sat up and leaned against his front paw looking up at him with her tounge out and tail swaying slowly. Remebering what her had said before, she was sure it had meaning. She attempted to repeat what it was he was saying. "Si, Si, Si" she repeate to him as he had done to her. She stayed there by his side for a moment.

She looked back at her sister who was still at their mothers side and Seri walked over to her. Gently grazing against her and then to her mothers side where she layed down. Still a bit tired from earlier and the short lived tickle session, she hept her eyes open fainly as she watched her father and waited to see what he would do next.

She leaned against him and he watched as she stared happily at him. He wished that he could keep her life this simple, as happy and unworried as it was in this moment. She looked at him and made a few noises, and after a moment he realized she was copying him. His face broke into a wide smile. "That's right, that's you. Seri, Seri, Seri. You." Encouraged by her attempts he changed his mantra some. "And me, dada. Dada, dada, dada." He watched her excitedly, but could tell she was tired. Perhaps more talking for another day.

She made her way back to her mother's side and lay down. He watched her eyes flutter, as if she were fighting, and he smiled and chuckled a little. He decided to simply watch his sleeping family, and let the sleep claim her. He didn't want her unrested.
