All Welcome
Kinda mature?

There was nothing comfortable about this. Not one thing.

Kalika found herself with the small pool of red mucus early in the evening. It was when she'd risen to walk over to the shore and clean herself off that she found out how swollen she had become. As she waddled nearer to the Sea, silently cursing to herself as her fur clamped and rubbed against this tender flesh, Kalika thought about what exactly it could all mean.

Perhaps she was ill, but it didn't make much sense that a sickness would home itself there. Unless it was the kind of sickness that you got from others, though she wasn't able to pinpoint which of her suitors might have been the root. Had she been a bit more experienced, Kalika probably would have known that this was the beginning stage of her first heat, but that thought hadn't even occured.

Sitting down on the cool sand just beneath the water's touch, Kalika flattened her ears and tried to hide herself, lest she risk being found vulnerable and alone.

Indie had been in quite a good mood lately.

Really, it had been since their symposium with the wolves of Drageda. The mysterious Thuringwethil, so stalwart and laconic, had surprised her entirely — a commander! it made sense, though —  the shrouded shewolf was built like a warrior and carried the disposition of one, and Indie felt a wolf of that mind was well deserved of her place amongst the pack’s leadership. But that realization had sparked something in the vaudevillian’s mind and she hungered for more of the dark woman. To say that topic had been on Indie’s mind lately was a major understatement. These sapphic feelings perplexed the tempest and for days she sat upon the northern cliffs of the island and mulled this over as she preened her fur and spit the bitter salt back into the sea. Perhaps Thuringwethil had enlightened her and piqued her interest with the mention of her red women, or perhaps it was something new and shiny that tempted Indie and she wanted it.

It was dusk when Indie came upon Kalika. There was a certain energy about it. The creature of the night slunk forward, greeting her with a single, sibilant “Gosling.”

Kalika could hear Indie approach so she tried her hardest to cower into herself. Upon hearing the Noephyte's voice however, she cursed under her breath — Shit. — and turned to face the other. Indie. Then, trying to act as normal as possible, she stood (with a slight whine from the soreness and walked over to Indie to place a small kiss on her forehead. It was something new, but it was how the Sisters were supposed to greet each other and Kalika felt as though they had known each other long enough.

Finally, after a moment of dreadful silence, Kalika sighed and shook her head. I need your help.

Kalika was found near the ocean; as was befitting a siren. Tried and tried as she might, Indie often felt the pull of her soul inland, rather than be one with the pelagic ladies. Land went on and on without end; and the islands so finite, and what was the shore but a barrier, keeping her confined! Though Indie did rather enjoy those who she was confined with, the starlet had begun to nurse a healthy fear of the ocean and its power and its expansiveness, how it was both serene and tumultuous in the same instants. But Indie did like the melodic crash of the waves and so she let herself have [at least that much] happiness, oftentimes composing little ditties against the most unending of metronomes — not for anyone's ears but her own.

The energy buzzing about Kalika did not dissipate as the girl gave her greeting and settled away from her — if Kalika wanted to talk about whatever mood she was in, the vaudevillian would oblige... but she wished for Kalika to find that honesty within herself first and bring up the subject on her own. Until then, the woman would wait! Indie was nearly impervious to awkward silences and used the moment to unceremoniously stretch out a forearm and drag her rosy tongue down the crushed velvet that ran downgrain over her shin; giving off an air of nonchalance. The two had a strange relationship, that was sure; built on a curious foundation made entirely of competition and appreciation — whatever, it worked so Indie tried not to think of it too much except when lesson planning for the young gosling.

Indie's mind is a bustling space and thoughts flashed through Indie's mind and just like that, they were gone... and amidst her preening, Kalika asked for assistance.  Indie stopped and withdrew her tongue between licorice lips, pulling up her read to regard the pale girl down her sculpted maw. "what seems to be the matter, hmm?" she spoke thickly, certain it was nothing too grevious.

If only Kalika had had someone to tell her about these things and spare her the humiliation of having to ask for help. Rather than growing up in a loving home with a mother and father, she grew up with other children who knew just about as much as she did; squat. Of course she had learned how to make pups (and practiced this rather often) and how to nurse and rear, but no one had ever taken the liberty of telling her when she could do all of this. Now, she would have to find these answers in what could easily become the most embarrasing encounter of her life, and with Indie of all wolves!

I'm bleeding, she whispered, immediately lowering her gaze, but its not normal. And its... Its coming from my baby maker! Kalika huffed and shook her head, unsure of how to express her concern.

The starlet pursed her lips and pulled them to one side, nodding her sage head in understanding. As much as Indie wanted [very much so] to spin a pedantic lesson about femininity and cycles of nature, the woman knew this was often a frightening time for young women, inexperienced in such matters. It was delicate and needed to be approached at such — because Indie hadn't a bad soul and knew when to tune down her baleful vivacity.

The dark tempest found herself somewhat surprised that Kalika had already reached such an age to find her estrus. Indie was scantily two years old herself, but her pupil always felt so much… younger than she really was. Perhaps it was Kalika’s frivolous nature, or her own haughty nature that left an aftertaste of adolescence in her mouth. Indie would have to grow her up right quick, especially now that she had achieved womanhood.

“I see. You’ve heard of a woman’s heat, yes?”

Oh God.

Yes, of course, Kalika said in a quite matter-of-fact way, though in truth, she had minimal knowledge about her own biological processes. Just as Indie had taught her, she would keep this information to herself, even if it seemed that she would be caught in her lies.

When thinking of one's heat, Kalika didn't think of it in this way. Actually, she didn't think of it at all. As she grew older and began to experience different things, she knew that this would surely change.

Crappy post :(

Indie chuckled as Kalika confirmed her knowledge of the topic at hand. Of course she knew – heat and coming of age was a common topic of discussion between mothers and daughters [not that her history as an orphaned detainee allowed her such a luxury], and though Indie did not know a single thing of Kalika’s past [perhaps she should one day learn this about her sister] Indie did not doubt she had an introduction. “Well then, it looks as if you’ve come upon your womanhood” she said softly, sagely – this was a delicate topic and Indie easily recognized that it needed to be treated as such.

“You should be proud.” The vaudevillian brightened her voice, as the poor girl seemed to be a bit uncomfortable of her body at this stage. Yes, Kalika might have been introduced to the concept of a woman’s season, but questions evinced her true unknowningness ; perhaps Kalika had taken their last lesson to heart and was painting her own reality with her speech. It was a nice try, albeit a failed attempt.  Indie, herself, had only experienced one of her heat cycles in her two years of life—and she had quickly realized how much she didn’t know until she experienced it personally. In this case, words were just words.

“You will be able to bear child – but have not the freedom to do so, I assume. Do you know the choice you can make now, hmm?” she questioned, hoping to provide some tender, matronly role for the poor girl. It seemed to fit the mood.
