Pack Activity
Feeling fresh and relatively well rested, the pale Wocha found himself with a good outlook towards their upcoming hunts and was ready to get this underway to celebrate springtime in full. Not only were the sturdy birds a good find, but with plenty to go after and several capable wolves, he liked their odds of success overall. To continue to add to that, he was feeling quite hopeful paired alongside the lithe @Asherah. It cancelled out a small measure of his relative rustiness when it came to such quarry to know she occupied a different spectrum of physical prowess than he did. Whereas his hunting strengths were.. just that: brute force, he hoped her presumed agility may match where he lacked. Plus, birds were not his usual pursuits if he could help it, so he hoped that between them, and despite never properly hunting alongside one another, that they could pull off some sort of success.

He looked over his shoulder and sought to check in with her while they were getting closer to being entirely underway.. all before it was too late to not spook the turkey's with any last-minute plans. A quick nod, small tail wiggle, and he wondered if she was feeling lucky.

She was nervous. It had been so long since she had hunt with another, or anything larger than a rabbit. Her children had survived on what she could scrape together, and the dead animals that Molech provided with the cold. They had fared better than could be expected during that time, but she was very rusty. She was happy at least to be paired with Dio, at least she had met him before. She glanced to him once and waved her tail, her body buzzed with nervous energy. She would enjoy proving herself by contributing something. Even a single turkey.

His eyes found hers and she nodded, offering an anxious smile. They were a good pairing for hunting, his force with her agility. With luck, and Molech's blessing, they could take something good today. She waited to see if he would speak a plan, or if they would simply feel things out. Ambush? Her driving the birds towards him? She cocked her head as if to ask for his plan, knowing that before long they'd be upon the animals.

He licked the backs of his teeth, then his lips next as he considered the best tactics to employ here. Neither of them seemed to be bursting with confidence about their looming turkey hunt, and neither knew the full extent of the other's strengths and weaknesses at once. "I think we can get in a bit more," he spoke lowly, hoping to combine the most obvious of approaches here in bringing them closer before they launched their bid in earnest. "I can swing wide one way, and you drive in a little closer. With any luck we can meet in the middle, turkey between us..?" It was a vague plan, since hunts could change and adapt as they moved through it, but he hoped it was enough structure to help.

Dio left room for her to suggestion otherwise, or help further flesh out the plan, then began to move--as discussed, with eyes dead set on the turkey in question.

But, luck wasn't with them. Their efforts failed.

They'd return empty-handed.
