All Welcome

Clouds gathered overhead, laced with smoke as they threatened to drown the world with their tears. Often would the wind blow, bringing with it a burst of heat that made his fur feel heavy with moisture. It seemed as if the ground had been covered in snow only seconds ago, though now not even a trace of white could be located. Seasons were terribly confusing, shifting from freezing to warm in no more than a second, but he supposed he couldn’t complain too much. Each year, the weather would cycle through its various forms, and that couldn’t be prevented. He was lucky, at least, to have found a place to call his home, with @Bane and the others. The memory of the murder that he’d been witness to existed only in his subconscious now, allowing him to better settle in with the rest of the group; they still made his skin crawl, but he could be left alone with them without immediately beginning to consider every possible escape route. Life was, in some twisted way, fairly good.

Meandering along the edge of a lake, he moved without any purpose in his steps. There were moments when he stopped to lap at the surface, quenching his thirst whilst relishing the feeling of the water as it ran down his throat. A few stray droplets fell from his chin each time, rejoining the greater mass and creating various ripples upon impact. Captivated by the hypnotic motion of the water, he watched closely, golden eyes reflecting off of it and creating the image of two small suns glaring down during the night. Where they came from, he knew not; he could no longer recall the face of his mother, whose inability to care for him had driven the child away. Perhaps she had given him his eyes, or maybe they’d come from the father that he had never met. Shaking his head, the wraith rid his mind of the thoughts and turned away from the lake, continuing his walk along its shore.

*purposely triggers eros*

There was no wolves for him to sate the bloodlust that gnawed and coiled his insides with. He settled for the second best thing: a coyote, small and feeble as it was, it was still a meal for the man. His hunt for the lupine cousins struck two birds with one stone: it diminished his hunger, and rid the Watch of pests. He tracked down the creatures, exterminating them with a mix of cold precision and savage delight. He did not know how many originally lingered near and in their new homes, but he figured now that the population had severely dropped, out of fear or mortality.

He found one lone coyote nervously trotting, perhaps in some attempt to get as far away from the Watch as possible. Athan tracked the creature with glee before he began to give chase, eventually driving the small creature to the lake. He didn't notice the boy, his indigo eyes focused entirely on the coyote, a slow vicious snarl rumbling in his chest as he neared the creature, slamming headfirst into it.

The force of impact drove both canids into the water, submerging the both of them momentarily. The water frothed as both swam towards the surface, but Athan was faster, securing his teeth around the creature's neck. The coyote shrieked as Athan pulled himself and the coyote out of the water, depositing it on the shore, one paw pinning him before Athan's teeth tore through the softness of his throat.
WARNING! this boy thinks hes a vampire. regardless of the validity of this, he does get a weird kick out of biting wolves and drinking their blood and just blood in general... He considers most wolves his potential prey, and is liable to attack at random if he believes he can take down a wolf.

How far along the lake he had made it was no longer able to be remembered, his mind thrown into a state of panic. One second he was wandering by himself, perfectly content, and then the next all hell had broken loose. His movements ceased and his legs grew stiff, even his breathing having slowed considerably before speeding back up. There was a streak of tawny fur, trailed after by a blur of white, which left the boy trembling. As he watched the two fall beneath the surface of the water, he could do nothing aside from stare, mouth agape. His body trembled and his tail found its way between his thighs at record speed, tucked so tightly that is was nearly grazing his underside. He could not move, could not speak, and then his world came crashing down around him.

The pair resurfaced with the smaller of the canines being dragged to the shore, only to have his throat torn out. Witnessing yet another murder brought back the memory of Vixen, his eyes glazing over as he recalled how the life had drained from hers. Trapped within a trance, Eros hadn’t realized that his mouth was open, nor that there was a shrill scream ripping through his throat. The sound, though almost painfully loud, fell on deaf ears—all he could hear was the sound of his own breaths, short and quick, as the murder of the red woman replayed in his head over and over again.

There was a familiar spurt of blood, the smaller size of the canid allowing him to grip his entire jaw around the pulsing artery. His eyes were half open in ecstasy, rolled back into his head as a low groan left his throat. His hind feet stamp as a warmth fills his groin, fueled by the blood raging into his body. The flood ebbs, letting Athan take a moment to breath, his jaw and neck coated in red. He pants, tongue dripping pink saliva as he looks around, eyes eventually focusing on the boy. There is a brief pang of guilt before it melts away. What are you doing here alone? He asks smoothly, as if the atrocity never happened. Has Bane wandered off once more?
