It was Calloon's capture and subsequent disappearance that initially caused her to question the world she was born into, the only world she had ever known. The Sinis had taken two of her siblings-- her sister and sweet Calloon--and yet, the violence of war continued. Desi was too peaceful a creature to glean any happiness from the life she was living on the Mountainside. She did not doubt that her taken siblings were no longer alive, and rather than seeing more of them die {something she simply could not bear}, Desi opted to leave the MonoSinis permanently.

She did not inform her remaining brothers and sisters of her imminent departure, afraid that they would try to convince her not to go. Instead of risking confrontation {which she deeply despised}, the young wolf turned her back on it all. She escaped the dreadful chaos of her upbringing, choosing to soothe her budding wanderlust, instead. Her favorite celebration of them all was Tundavi and while she had made her plans to leave long ago, she could not bring herself to miss one last Springtime festival. A few nights afterward, Desi slipped away and into the night.

Weeks later, her dainty paws eventually brought her to what was obviously pack territory, its well marked borders drawing the line between visitation and trespass. Seating herself along the safe side of the border, the gray she-wolf cast her pretty mug skyward, eyelids closing over brilliant blue eyes as her wolfsong cut through the silence of the forest. She lowered her maw to its original position and settled down to wait in the dappled sunlight. Patience was a strong point for Desi, thus she did not mind waiting, so long as she was not ignored. Gods willing, her summons would be addressed.

Sorry for the late reply!

The Wise Ones worked in mysterious ways. The ghostly boy had seen them toying with both him and the many wolves he had met. Their game that was controlling their lives was an interesting game to be playing - at least, it seemed like it to the dove. Now that life had settled for him, he didn't know what to expect. Were they angry? Were they glad he had not given up his life to die like a loyal servant of his family? He was uncertain, but that uncertainty brought him adventure and freedom.

When a familiar voice rang through the air his heart began pumping faster. While it sounded... older than he remembered, it was still a sound that he had heard all throughout his youth. He did not dare believe it; did not dare move until he had taken a few shaky breaths to shake off the tension that had taken over his lithe and agile form. It was after that that he rushed to the borders, spotting her fairly-pale coat nearly immediately. She had grown so much... And here he was, having not even paid attention to how much the time had changed him.

He padded toward her, golden-ringed eyes observing her for a minute before his tail started swaying high in the air. He had so much to ask and tell her, but a word never left his lips. Instead, a throaty whine was murmured as he scooted closer, grey muzzle poking the air around her excitedly.

no worries! <3

The sound of movement flowed through the forest, alerting her that she was most likely soon to be confronted by someone. Nevertheless, her ears lifted to full mast and her cobalt eyes squinted to peer as deeply as they possibly could. A white figure materialized, and because of the faintly familiar scent, pallid fur and lithe physique, she had her suspicions about who this could be, and those suspicions served to make her tail thump the earth twice or thrice in excitement and hopeful anticipation.

It couldn't be... but it was. It was Calloon. He was not dead!

In response to his nosing of the air around her, Desi aimed her pink tongue towards his face, seeking to plant a few celebratory kisses there. The young she-wolf was not beyond showing a little affection, but to him -- a brother presumed dead -- she gave it freely, her tail now wagging at a rapid and steady pace, hindquarters lifting off the earth so that she stood on all fours. He did not speak, but this did not concern Desi. He appeared to be just as thrilled by their reunion as she; perhaps words were lost on him for the moment.

Calloon, she spoke, a soft whine sounding from within her creamy throat. I thought you were dead... Her voice held its usual soft tones, but in spite of the gravity of their circumstances, Desi spoke with calm dignity. Is our sister here, too? With you? she wondered hopefully, pulling her face away to look at him properly whilst they exchanged information.

It wasn't strange to hear he was presumed dead by his family - he had not come back after his unfortunate yet thrill-filled adventure that separated him from his home-pack. A part of him had always longed to see his family again, but he was sure Father would've never accepted a presumed dead, disgraceful son back under his rule. No, the Monos were above that. The strong were wanted, the weak were abandoned; and so was life. Luckily his journey had been filled with much joy, and apparently he had a thing for old witches since 2 had helped him with his troubles so far. He whined at words, wanting to tell her everything but he simply couldn't. He couldn't tell their sister had been killed - that her lifeless head had been thrown in his cell and had robbed him of his voice. He couldn't tell how not long after he had ripped his own tongue - that he had survived a dangerous dive in the river and how Jewels had saved him. Why now - why me that cannot speak? I bring trouble and cause more for myself, oh Desi...

He shook his head, form stilling as he stood there - sadness drifting on the wind that ruffled through his ghostly feathers of dove grey, carrying it to her without a sound. It was as of all joy had been sucked from his aura - that her words had caused an emotional explosion within the young man.

@Calloon -- things got busy, sorry! I will be faster!

It was as if her words had stilled him, and in the following silence of the next few seconds, she worried that the fault was hers. The soft whine that escaped him lead her further towards this conclusion, and the shake of her head, while liquid in possible meaning, gave her the suspicion that their sister was no longer alive.

Calloon... what's  wrong? Why aren't you speaking to me? the question came with the light sweetness of a concerned sister. It seemed the best possible step to take next; was he too surprised or saddened by her sudden appearance to utter a word, or had those animals, their rivals, done something terrible to him to render him permanently silent?

It were knives thrust into his sensitive heart hat made him gasp for air, the sadness enough to kill. He had never wanted to admit it, but even though he had been born to serve a wicked and treated as such by the parents who were supposed to love him, he missed them. He missed home, even though only fragments remained inside his memories. The Wise Ones were to blame; he had angered them by defying their wishes and choosing to live. He was not worthy of precious memories anymore; all he had was the present, but now the past was coming back to haunt him. It was insane how hard he had begged for this moment to happen, yet now regretted even thinking of it. Desi understood; she understood the pain of losing family. Surely she had seen more death on the battlefield, not to mention her missing-now-found ghostly brother and the unfortunate death of one of their sisters.

He inched closer at her question, a mere soundless whimper escaping his tongueless mouth. He bowed before her, head pointed up as a knight being knighted would, opening his maw to reveal the curse that had been put on him.
