All Welcome
The pups were a week old now and Charon felt a little more at ease handling them now that they were a little less fragile. Still he waited a bit longer before he wanted to go into the den, which remained Ame's domain for now. Tonight he had made sure that there was a replacement for his guard in the form of one of his daughters as he set off to find @Olive , for he had an outstanding promise to watch the stars with her. So far he thought she was annoyingly sided with her rude son and so his impressions of her were not very positive yet, and he hoped that tonight might change that and the beginning of a bridge between the families could be built.

Hoping he wouldn't run into her annoying-ass kid, Charon started following her scent trail to look for her while the night was yet young and the stars had only just come out to play.

All had quieted upon the mountain. Surely, life had significantly quicken for the alpha pair, newly parented once again, but Olive had found a steady pace that was not only divine but quiet pleasurable. The extreme melancholy following her and the dark knight’s fissure had abated somewhat — and though it still pained her greatly, the waif figured this was the most she was ever to heal from it. The heartache would live on, a constant wrenching reminder of what she stood to lose entirely.

So her days consisted of prayer and gardening [odes in moiety to the spiritual, as well as the physical], gamboling with her rapidly growing babes and encouraging their youthful development. At night she would tuck her family warmly against one another and depart — sometimes for an hour, other times for the night entirely — to read the stars and glean their tellings. It was all so lovely, yet it was the same, day in and day out.  At any other time, the fae might believe herself to be stifled and stagnant, but right now, the druid was all too happy to cede herself to this congruency.

But there were new lives in Moonspear, as sudden as they had come. Since experiencing the joys of motherhood herself, there was nothing that the woman exalted more than the innocent genius of new cubs; new minds. Olive had intended to stop by, to bring a gift of some sort, to coo and murmur at the newly born babes — but the pale mother remembered how she withdrawn she felt so soon after birth, how reluctant she had been to leave her den [nonetheless the forest itself], and had not wished to impose upon Amekaze in any way.

Soon, Olive could bear it no longer. The twilight was new and soft, the spring stars shimmering gently above — and so the woman plucked a beautiful, fragrant bouquet of pale flowers and made her departure from her family’s rendezvous site. Olive had so recently found an alcove of spring honeysuckle, and it was her wish that the saccharine undertones of the honeysuckle’s creamy flowers might pacify squalling children. She wished such resources had been available when her own children were this age — but supplies had dwindled during their exodus.

Her excursion was intercepted by Charon. His ghostlike form stood out against the haze of the youthful darkness, as did her own, and there was not mistaking that their paths were to cross. When the two wolves were nearer to each other, Olive slowed her gait to a halt and dipped her head in a reverent greeting. ”Charon.” She did not deposit the blooms upon the ground, electing to speak through her teeth, incase the alabaster king was just passing through and not seeking a conversation with her — the mother of heathens.

are where thy grey eye glances, and where thy footstep gleams
in what ethereal dances, by what eternal streams

It did not take too long before Charon found what he was looking for. Ears cupped forward as she appeared with what seemed to be flowers between her teeth (he wasn't too sure why she would pluck and carry them, having forgotten momentarily that she was into herbs, like Pyx, and that flowers could be herbs too). She greeted him and he said, "We were going to watch the stars together," implying nothing more than that there was an outstanding agreement that neither of them had fulfilled yet.

But it was clear from the way he said it that he wished to fulfil this agreement tonight, even if he didn't literally say it. It was time that some bridges were built between their families and he hoped this was the way forward.

i’m so sorry

To Olive’s surprise, Charon did not turn tail and saunter away — and, for all intents and purposes, seemed to want an interaction. In ahisblasé manner, the alabaster king hinted at their unfulfilled promise to watch the stars together. Truthfully, the fae had resigned it to have been an empty idea, only agreed upon as a way to segue away from the topic of Aries’s crimes, but here he was, extending an olive branch… and the woman was thankful. She had an intense desire to connect with wolves, and not only wolves but critters and plants and elements; and it was ultimately pleasing when such desire was returned.

— of course, Charon had spoken no more than eight words… but that was more than enough for the hungry druid.

Olive could not help but let a smile draw upon her lips before depositing the bouquet gently upon the earth. She would come back for the dainty blooms later — they were not going anywhere. ”Yes,” Olive agreed with a nod of the head and a twinkle of the eye. “Let’s.” The mother did her best to bite her tongue and resist the temptation to wax poetic — Charon did not seem to be a man who enjoyed honeyed words and idyllic phrases — so she refrained and allowed him to take the lead. Certainly, Charon knew this mountain and its stars the best… and Olive knew he must have some, any, sage wisdom to share.

The ice was far from broken, it seemed, and Charon longed for the moment of awkwardness to be over. He nodded when she agreed; she seemed positive about this suggestion, though also like she was holding back, for she spoke in little words. A lot had happened lately but he decided he would not mention it right now, for it didn't do well to dwell on hurtful things.

He gestured and lead the way further up the mountain, remaining silent until they found a nice ledge to watch from. "The sky is beautiful tonight," he commented with a smile as he looked up at his stars. Clear skies and the last remainders of light had just faded from the horizon, leaving them alone with the dark skies.
