Lights. Heat. It was overwhelming. The very moment of his birth, the boy had curled up to hide himself away from the lights and heat of the den. The heat, it seemed, he could not escape from. But even so, he tried. He squirmed and wriggled, squeaking in frustration when he found that he was not able to move as fast or as efficiently as he wanted to. His crying was short lived, however, as he felt the presence of who he knew to be his mother. He could feel her. He thought that was her, anyway.

He was silent for a bit, but then he began crying for her attention. He was scared. He didn't know what was happening. What was going on?
