@Easy @Lavender @Dauntless : puppies really only have to make a cameo. Momma Khoe is just gonna tell 'em a little story :)

Though still tiny and fragile, Khoe could see the changes happening in her three young. All of their coats were slowly beginning to fluff out, making them look more like sentient puffballs than pups. Arushi's coat was beginning to show a preview of what would later become her adult coat; a red merle, not unlike Khoe's own mother's. It made her smile as she reminisced on the childhood that she had since lost. Mirza and Ishara were a bit hardert to tell apart than their firey sister, but it was the lavender nose on the first born girl that made her stand out from the rest.

As the morning sun began to rise and the pups began to squeal for their morning meal, Khoe yawned and stood to stretch her limbs before settling for their breakfast. Though she knew they were still deaf, she often took whatever alone time they had together to talk to them and tell them each just how special she thought they were.

You know, in case they ever forgot.

Easy was happy.

There was not much to do when you were a pup. Her parents saw to her every need, from making sure she was fed to removing the faeces from her tiny little body. Already, the girl loved her mother and father, as well as the two tiny beings who'd been born alongside her. She wanted nothing, she feared nothing, and - for the most part - she thought nothing. Most of her time was spent sleeping, and when she wasn't doing that, she was simply lying there, basking in the simplicity of her life.

This is what she was currently doing, leaned up against her mother's side. Idly, she thought about getting something to eat - but she was always fed when she needed to be, and she was sure her mother would move her to a teat when it was time.
ooh-oo child, things are gonna get easier

Here's the story! @Lavender & @Dauntless, still pop in whenever :) All orange text is in Sinhala. Also, @Grayday can cameo, too.

Khoe — although knowing that her story would surely be forgotten and retold thousands of times — cleared her throat and curled herself into a full circle so that there was nowhere for any pup to wander where there would not be warmth. She snuggled her snout into each tiny chest and relished in the soft touches left by equally tiny paws. One day, you'll be bigger than me, she thought to herself. All she could do was hope that when they did begin to tower over her, they would have enough respect to know what was expected.

Once upon a time, she began, her voice barely above a whisper, there lived a mother and father and their three children. The mother told fortunes and tales to keep their home, while the father spent all of his days and nights hunting to keep them fed. Well, one day, all of the children went exploring while their parents were away and found themselves lost in the chamber of a Rakshasa! Their parents heard their cries and ran to the rescue, but of course their Da had to stop for a snack on the way. After hours of wandering through the trees and bushes, up and down hills, through rivers and around mountain bends, they finally found the lair and used all of their might in fighting off the Rakshasa. Khoe leaned back and examined each tiny babe, taking a moment to just enjoy what she had been given.

That's how much I love you, she breathed lighter than a breeze, I would give anything.

sorry for the delay!

Lavender slept against her mother's chest, cozied up next to her siblings. She still couldn't hear much, or see anything, but life was good for her. She was just a tiny little fiery blob, sleeping and eating away the days until her life got more interesting. She snored a little, though it was more of a squeak that would randomly happen when she exhaled. She awoke suddenly, having that falling feeling that babies sometimes got. She realized that she was on the ground, and wiggled back into a comfortable place.

Her mother's nose gently nuzzled Lavender's chest, and the girl yawned loudly. She stuck out a small paw and reached for the nose that soothed her, and made contact with it a few times before letting her paws settle back under her. Her mother began telling the story, and if Lavender could've heard it, she would've been even happier.
