@Burr Set after the Mother bear incident with Valette lmfao. @Mawk if you wanna help in a lil lesson on pack rules?

Illecebra had succesfully herded her frightened boy home again and once they were inside the den she began to work on cleaning him up. She washed whatever urine and fecal matter was stuck to his coat and then proceeded to give his soft baby fur long soothing licks until she felt calm enough to begin the newest subject. She would begin to speak to them all about what to do, and what not to do in this pack. "Rowana,Cyron come here for this." she called to her daughter and youngest son. The two ran over and lay beside Burr and Cyron nudged his big brother with a concerned expression.

"Rules are important to follow not just in a family but in a pack as a whole. Rules keep everyone from causin trouble or being hurt. There's a couple of rules you three need to know now, since you all seem to be going out and looking around now. The alphas den, where Burr just was is off limits. Especially for the upcoming months since Miss Valette has babies with her. She needs her rest and she needs to be alone to care for them. The second rule is that the healer's den where all the healing plants are kept is off limits unless Krypton is there to show you around, and never eat a plant that you don't know is safe." She looked at the three pups to make sure they understood. Cyron looked at her with wide eyes and gave a quiet nod, and Rowana looked focused but maybe slightly confused even though she nodded as well.

He had heard the young boy's screech of terror from a distance, and had sped all the way there as fast as he could possibly go (fearing for his son's safety), but by the time he got there it seemed Cebra had taken control of the situation already. He trailed her scent from Valette's den to their own den, and caught up by the time they arrived. While he had not seen what had happened, it had been easy to tell. Burr had gotten too close to the alpha's den - while the pups were there. Mawk entered the family's den with a serious look on his face, but he did send his son a gentle, reassuring smile. He had no doubt learned already not to approach Valette's den, but that didn't mean Mawk wanted him to be petrified of Valette.

The Scout sat down inside the den, planting licks on each pups head as he liked to do. Once his mate had finished speaking, Mawk chimed in (with a haven't you people ever heard of closing a goddamn door - *cough*) with words of his own. As he spoke he looked mainly at Burr. "I know you didn't mean any harm, Burr, but you must stay away from all dens except this one for now. What if it hadn't been Valette in there? There could have been something much more dangerous, and I don't want anything to happen to you. You got it, Bud?" Then his eyes swept across the other two pups. "Same goes for you two." He hesitated, thinking momentarily about what else he wanted to add, before speaking again. "And don't go too far when you explore, okay? Stay away from the borders especially."

Burr was still shaking like a leaf by the time he and his mother returned to the Saefyn family den. He couldn't think of anything but the yellowed teeth flashing out of the darkness, the sudden pinch and pull as they roughly grasped his scruff, and the ease with which he'd been slammed into the ground. His chest and cheek still smarted from the impact and he limped lightly on his right foreleg, though it was only bruised and he was overreacting. In a mere matter of days he would be physically over it and would be back to exploring the territory, but it would continue to affect him mentally for a long time. His fear of the wolf who accosted him ran deeper than words could reach.

Burr Saefyn, Explorer Extraordinaire, was well and truly dead, leaving just Burr Saefyn. Approaching a den or cavern so easily was a mistake he would never make again, rendering much of what Illecebra said to him and his siblings redundant. He shrank into a ball on the den floor, trembling even as Illecebra tended to him and Mawk attempted to comfort him. He pressed his face into Cyron's side when his brother drew near, and listened as attentively as he could to his parents, but his mind was consumed with the thought of Valette shooting out of the darkness. It was hard to pay attention, for he'd already learned the lesson the hard way.

When the lecture was over and silence reigned, Burr mumbled a quiet, "yes, ma. Yes, papa," and curled tighter in on himself. Don't go near dens. Don't go near Valette. Don't go near the borders. These rules would all be easy ones to follow given Burr's terrifying encounter with the first two and existing wariness of the third.

Cebra was grateful for Mawk's presence and she cast him a look full of worry. She kept silent as Mawk added in his own words and then looked to the three children to see if they understood. Rowana nodded sharply and uttered a quick "yes ma,yes da" while Cyron just absently nodded while his attention focused on Burr. He took Burr's ear into his maw and chewed gently "Brudder, Don't hide." he murmured softly. Illecebra stepped forward and pulled Burr close sheltering him with her body she also tucked Cyron in so he wouldn't feel like she shoved him aside.

"Valette didn't mean to hurt you. When you three were just small babies, anyone who came close to you was met in the same way. It is how mothers act. When I was givin birth to you all, I even tried to chase your daddy away. I never meant any of it though, It was just a protective instinct. Give Valette a few weeks to a month and she'll lighten up" she spoke soothingly and placed gently kisses on top of Burr's head before gently rolling him over and nibbling at his belly, attempting to cheer him up by tickling him.

The pups seemed to understand, but Burr still appeared very frightened. The wolfdog shot a glance at Cebra, wondering what they were to do now. They had spoken of the rules, and the youngsters had nodded, but their shaking son was still... well... completely terrified. Comforting was needed. Illecebra was already on it, pulling Burr closer and then Cyron. She spoke with soothing words, and Mawk smiled gently before padding over to Rowana, lowering his hind next to her so that they sat side by side - though he had no doubts that the girl probably wouldn't stay still for all that long.

Burr would recover, he was sure, he just needed time. He was still in shock, it seemed.

Illecebra and Mawk did their best to console him, but the mind of a child invented terrors far beyond consoling. Valette had attacked him. No amount of soothing words or explanation was going to take away the effect of that—only time. An older wolf would surely understand that a whelping mother was a force to be reckoned with, and that disturbing one was asking for it. Burr still didn't even understand that pups smaller than him existed, that Valette had pups in that den, or that they were the reason she had come at him. He didn't know where pups came from and he wasn't yet able to comprehend that women needed their privacy. All he knew was that Valette was a monster.

In short, he was just a little too young to make sense of what had happened. As far as he could understand, he had poked his head into a den and been attacked for it. The association was made without regard for the true situation, which he didn't understand. Dens equaled being attacked. For that reason it would be several days before Burr ventured out again, and several more days before he was comfortable going beyond the den site, and probably months before he was comfortable near any den but his family's.

Illecebra frowned as Burr still lay there trembling, and she finally realized this was something that would take some time to heal. She cast Mawk a sad look and lowered herself fully to the ground tugging Burr against her side where she placed her chin across the top of his small head "We would never let anything hurt you Burr, You are safe here. If Valette meant you any harm I would have attacked her whether she was alpha or not." she said honestly, her voice still in a soothing softness. The words were something that she shouldn't have said but it was the truth and all she could think of at this point to hopefully bring Burr any peace at all.

sorry for the short post!

Sorry to skip! Just wanted to get Burr's last post in this thread out there. <3

If nothing else, Burr believed that his parents would both protect him should push come to shove. If Valette had really harmed him, then he knew Illecebra wouldn't have stood for it. That brought the boy a modicum of comfort as he settled down alongside Cyron and slipped into an uneasy sleep that would inevitably end in a nightmare. Valette was only doing her job as a mother and an Alpha female—in no way had she done anything wrong—but the abruptness with which it shattered Burr's imaginative innocence and sense of total immortality had shaken him, and would continue to for quite some time.
