He was squarely within the mountain range, now, and the sun was beginning its descent in the sky—it was a little unnerving to the Phase. He had been born in a region similar to this one, but that had been long ago... most of his travels since then had been in flatland. The shadows cast by the towering peaks were slightly unnerving as he moved through the small paths that wound their way through the base of the range. But not nearly as unnerving as the sudden burst of jagged rocks that seemed to explode upward from the ground beneath his feet.

And the sudden drop that appeared to his left side. He scrambled quickly to the right, though Curran took care to watch his footing—he wasn't quite ready to die, and especially not by impaling himself on the odd rock formations.

It was probably best to wait out the night here, though it wasn't the most pleasant of places to sleep. He scouted out a place that seemed safe, secure. So focused on this task, he wasn't likely to notice anyone that might have already curled beneath one of the jagged boulders for the night. Merely glad to have found something that seemed suitable, Curran ducked beneath a rock that had a steep lean—for it seemed the most sheltered.
