All Welcome
Clary pushed through the veil of darkness to emerge, blinking, into the surface world, and immediately shivered at the nip in the air. Warmth leaked from the den and tempted her to return, but her spirits ran high, and though her puppy fur was still too short to keep her warm against the elements, no amount of bitter wind could temper her need to discover the great world above the underground.

She wondered, briefly, if walking like Steph could make her invisible to mama's puppy radar, and for a few steps, she slunk forward in ninja stealth mode. She could only think of how proud her sister would be of her sneakiness and quietness, until the sheer thought of her antics brought a giggle to her throat and she leapt the rest of the way across the clearing, in a direction she'd never ventured before. @Steph had walked somewhere like this once, probably a lot more Steph-like, and had met someone new. If that's what getting lost meant, then hit her with the world, Clary wanted that, too!

As the puppies grew, the yearling had shifted her den closer to their own, drawn by the children. She grew to love them quickly, hoping to spend more time with them as they grew, enamoured by their innocent antics and fresh view of the world. She had hoped to catch a glimpse of one of them as she purposefully passed by her mother's den on her way to fill the caches, and was rewarded with the sight of a little girl making her way across the clearing. Tail wagging softly, she approached readily, steps light and a chuff announcing her presence.

Clary didn't have to travel far to get half of what she wanted. Her ears perked and she snapped eager eyes on a familiar face. Not someone new - but her face lit up anyway, her old plan forgotten, and her body shook with a spirited dance. Clary pranced to meet the pale grey girl, and couldn't retain the babble of excited chuffs and squeals from escaping her lips.

"Ha! Ha-oh!" She tried the vocalization she'd heard the giant wolves use when they first saw each other, and bent low to the ground in a playful crouch. Clary's eyes lit round and full upon the pale girl's face. "Ha-oh! Ha-oh!" Her own voice broke with tinkling laughter at how pleasant the noise still sounded to her, and cupped her ears forward to hear what notes the other would add to the song.

Her eyes grew wide with wonder as she beheld the sheer happiness of the girl, the complete innocence and childishness. A smile grew on her muzzle as she beheld the girl, flopping onto her stomach to lower herself to the child's height. Her joyful greeting and tinkering laughter had the girls tail beat with gladness, as she offered a breathy "hhha" The best greeting she could manage without use of a tongue, planting a kiss on the child's muzzle as she dipped into a play stance, inviting the girl to a game.

A blaze of brightness radiated through Clary's eyes like a beacon, positively delighted in the bigger girl's voice, strange and breathy as it was. Like nothing her ears had heard before, a pleasant and windy sound. The pale girl vibrated like her tail took her whole body to wag, and she licked at the older girl's retreating muzzle before she slapped her paws on the ground, following the invitation to play.

"Hhhha!" She repeated, trying to get the sound the other girl had given her. It didn't sound quite right, not as beautiful. With a spring, Clary leapt forward as if to tackle the bigger girl, but sprang away and slapped her paws again, hoping the other would give her chase.

Happiness bubbled in her chest as the girl seemed to radiate delight, bouncing into a play stance and echoing her odd, breathy greeting. Keoni grinned freely, swatting a light paw at the girl when she made as if to tackle her, only to bounce away again. The nymph understood, and she darted after the younger girl with a swaying tail and a bouncing gate, enticed easily into a game of chase.

Her quiet friend took to the game without any further prompt, and Clary squealed her delight - followed by her feigned and giggling terror - when the other girl bounced toward her. She shivered with excitement and sidestepped away before hustling to a puppyish run. Her oversized paws still made fast movement difficult, and Clary tottered along. Yet in her mind, she ran as fast as the wind - there was no way her friend would catch her! But just to make sure, Clary stole a glimpse over her right shoulder to see if her quiet friend was catching up.

The pup blundered along, her happy squeal still ringing in the girl's ears. She chased carefully, always staying a step or two behind, dancing behind the girl in the imitation of a great monster stomping towards her, the facade broken by her grin and her tiny size. At last, when she girl peeked over her shoulder, she darted forward and poked her rump, happy huff escaping her.
