Perspective was everything.

Tucked away in the Vale, the falling snow was a quiet grace, each individual flake fluttering to land soft on the dying grass. Sprinkling her black pelt with a fine layer of cool, crystalline white.

Wanderlust struck her at the sight, of drops settling chilly on her nose. She lifted her head to look at the sky, and then slightly down, where the mountains cast an even darker shadow over the black night. She rose to her feet and, with a shake of her fur, broke into first a trot then a run, aiming for the cliffs.

Miyako was so invested in this run, she barely noticed that, as the altitude grew higher, the storm grew more intense. Icy winds pummeled her body, but she continued to climb, her heart seized by some. . .emotion.

This was an unknown summit to her. It was just to the northeast of the Vale, nearly as high as the Sunspire itself. Miyako was about three-fourths of the way up when she found a clearing, exposed on the face of the great mountain, sheltered by a few scraggly bushes and boulders.

Steadying herself, she jumped atop one of said boulders and looked out. The visibility was poor, though; the vista would have to wait until the morning. She imagined she could probably see out to the----

her mind. berserk. blood. family. blood. blood--

it was bright, so bright. and hot! hot! blood, afire. bright blood ablaze.

quick--she--must--stop--wait--

wait. . .

The black she-wolf flopped to her side then, in a flurry of limbs and fur crackling from electricity, rolled awkwardly over the side of the boulder, and with a muffled thud hit the stone floor below.
