Cassiopeia's View and the future seems so bleak

After meeting with Hydra, Gannet could have followed her, but instead turned south.  He wanted to see Liffey, and was interested in this girl with her sisters, but did he have to go now? Nah.  There was time yet to explore.

He was skirting the mountains when he saw the other; a flash of white in the darkened landscape.  He moved silently, so much so that Gannet almost missed him.  But the youthful adventurer was on the lookout, especially after Hydra's warning, and zoned in on the movement immediately.

He lowered himself, creeping forward, but then thought better of that.  How did he knew Hydra had been telling the truth, or even that this wolf was the one she was talking about?

"You... you're white."  The words would definitely carry over to the wolf, and while they were no sort of proper introduction, Gannet felt they answered and asked every relevant question.
