All Welcome
"Marsh Marigold, poisonous. Alder bark, toothaches. Dock leaves -" Here she paused, forehead scrunched up in thought. The clicking of claws against stone faded as she paused, tail lashing irritatedly, gazing vacantly out over the thrashing sea far below. her quiet chanting had been going on for a few moments as she tried to remember all she had soaked up about healing and herbs, stomach tightening on moments like these when the use or the herb evaded her. She huffed, only to add a moment later, "Nettle. Nettle stings."

Content, she sat, wrapping her tail around her paws. She gave a stiff shake of her pelt, muttering again from where she left off, determining to know enough to be of use one day. The fact that her mother already existed as the pack's amazing healer did not deter her, and she soaked up information as fast as she could.

He has spent a great deal of time alone lately. It is not unusual for him, but these days he is purposefully avoiding contact with others. He feels like an outcast; although this may be a dramatization sown from his most recent encounter with Thuringwethil.

Hux shakes out his coat, freeing it of the dried leaves that had latched onto his white fur while he slept. He decides to patrol, an activity occurring at the borders, far from the heart of the pack where he thinks the majority of Drageda locate themselves. Somewhere along his trek towards the territory outline, a soft noise mingles with the distant rush of the sea. He halts, ears twitching. The sound meshes well with the ocean's hiss, but it is softer, kinder, somehow. Finally he spots her, a young she-wolf whom he identifies as Portia's daughter, although this would have been his guess anyway. The freckles, faint as they were, gave that away.

Hei, he greets softly, wondering what she had been whispering about. How are you today?

Her soft murmurs are interrupted, and she twists her muzzle to see who the soft greeting belongs to. Recognition sparks quickly, and she replies,  "hei, hux. I'm well. " Feeling quite suddenly as if she owes an explanation, she continues, switching to the common tongue though she knows she ought to be practising her second language. "I was practising - fis opShe switches halfway through, gaze darting to the male. She doesn't know him well, knowing him only by name, and the girl lapses into silence as she waits to see if he'll speak again.

The pale girl seems a bit softspoken and he suddenly feels badly for interrupting her. He lowers his ears and forces a small grin, attempting to look nonthreatening in spite of his large size. Uh, what were you practicing? He hadn't been able to determine the subject of her murmurs, but he is curious as always. It must have something to do with a trade; perhaps she is studying something in one way or another.

She reddens under her fur; perhaps she has mispronounced or he does not understand. Dalia tries again, this time, a little louder. "herbs - for healing. I'm trying to remember them."  Her tail twitches beside her nervously, but beside the man's size, he doesn't appear very threatening. She continues, a little more confidently know that she is in the pursuit of something she desires. "I like to learn; about plants, the stars, the world. can you teach me something?" The request is a common one for the girl, who seems to thrive on knowledge and tales.

Feel free to skip her if you don't engage!

Ajatar finds it odd that Hux has returned, and no one else, but she has kept away from the heart of Drageda for the last little while. Her time with Heda has been fleeting, uncertain of the new change within them. When she finds Hux’s scent, she decides not to let it go—even if that meant another is with him—and she quickly follows it until she finds him. Her gaze finds the large male. He’d been her guard on the way to Drageda but she had not given him the time of day during their travel. He’d been nothing but a messenger from Heda to retrieve her and disrupt the things she had going for her. A small part of her resented him as there is no longer a reason for her time here.

She does not know the other girl but she resembles the healer, but she has engaged with the brute enough to ask him to teach her something. Ajatar stays in the background for the time being; not necessarily out of sight but not yet ready to engage.

oh, right, he doesn't know where his mind went, but she has already told him what she is practicing. fis op. He shakes his head at himself but smirks, happy that she seeks the same trade as him so that he can help her in some way. helping another is always a good way to distract oneself, after all. uh, well, what are you the most interested in? he asks with a cant of his head. He has not noticed the pale woman who stands in the background, his focus trained entirely on the curious young girl before him.

The girl cants her head, thinking a moment on the male's query. She, too, misses the woman entirely, shifting her weight as she replies. "the stars. I don't know much about them" she admits, and those tiny fires in the dark of night are ever so beautiful. She knows that sometimes, they connect to form pictures, and that sometimes they dart across the sky in a dazzling rush. Besides that, however, she knows little.

The stars. They always bring him to existential thoughts, and sometimes he almost becomes nervous when he thinks about the vast sky, the stars and planets which no living being will ever understand completely. Stars, eh? he speaks with a chuckle. I dunno a whole lot, but I'll tell you what I do know.

The sun is a star - our star, and it gives us life. We wouldn't be here without it. The sun, and all the other stars, are huge spheres of heat and light.... Planets like our Earth circle around them, in what's called an "orbit." He quickly thinks of what else to share with her. Most stars are really far away. Further than you can imagine. But they're so full of light, you can see them anyway. he explains quietly, giving her a smile and falling silent. He has given her basic information, some of which she may already know. Perhaps, though, he has told her enough for her to formulate more questions. He can already see that she has an open mind, thirsting for knowledge.

The winds shift and bring an unexpected scent. The large wolf furrows his brow and glances sidelong, his gray eyes meeting the sight of Ajatar. hei, he greets casually. He is not sure where he stands with the she-wolf, but her presence unsettles and annoys him nevertheless.

The girl does, indeed, have questions. She blinks once, taking in the information, before asking, "then why are all the other stars so small? Are there other planets, on other stars? Are there wolves on other planets, too? Why-" Her small flurry of questions tapers off when the male address someone else. She spins to see the woman Ajatar, who she knows is important. She quiets quickly, shifting her weight and dipping her muzzle in what she hopes is a respectful greeting, echoing Hux in her soft  "hei"

Ajatar listens as Hux talks to the girl about the stars and what he knows (or thinks he knows) but she doesn’t step in to add her voice. There’s little she knows about the children of Drageda, nor does she know much about Hux (despite the extended amount of time she’s had to spend with him) and neither of these facts urge her to step into the conversation. After a few seconds she decides to continue on her way but before she gets the chance to even look like she’s going to leave, Hux calls a greeting out to her and, a beat later, so does the girl. Quietly, Ajatar snorts but stifles it from being too loud. The girl nods her head once in acknowledgement but she does not linger, turning off to let the teaching lesson continue.
