Things were starting to fall apart, like the leaves of even the highest branches of the trees.
The once lively Vale was now a ghost town, and one by one the scent of each of the members began to fade.
Genie, Miyako and the newly arrived Regan were all gone. Remi felt especially sad for Genie's and Miyako's departure, he had grown to like the young ladies and had thought of them as good friends and would have at least wanted a goodbye.
But for Remi, it has never been easy to get what he has wanted.
He wondered if they were ok wherever they had chosen to go, he hoped they were.

Despite the back to back disapereance of all his friends Remi remained in the Vale, running through the same places like a ghost that haunts an empty home. Without the others the splendor of the Vale that had once filled his chest with pride was now gone, but there was still something, someone, keeping him anchored here.

Chusi.

He could not leave her, he wouldn't.
He would rather be a ghost forever than to be haunted by the guilt and self hatred that was sure to come if he dared to slip away from her.
Slowly, a little something inside his chest had begun to light up each time the two spent their afternoons together, and now, nestled right within his ribcage, there was a warm feeling he did not dare to name yet aloud but continued to nurture with sweet gestures and soft, affectionate nips to the Fearghal's shoulders or cheeks.

No, he could not leave her.
But with winter just around the corner and the Vale thinning out in numbers so drastically, they would have to face a serious decision about their future and explore options neither had wanted to mention yet. It was hard for Remi to think about leaving for he loved the Vale, it had welcomed him when he was in need and it had been the birthplace of so many dear friendships-  Rannoch, Liffey, Genie, Miyako - and where he had met Chusi too.
Yes, it was hard for him to leave but realistically it would be even harder to stay.

As another leaf descended from a nearby tree to the orange-brown rug that seemed to cover the earth, Remi set out to find Chusi, whom he found quickly and greeted with a quick lick to her shoulder. His crystalline blue eyes tried not to reflect his worries as he asked her to sit down next to him for a chat - though the majority of the time he struggled to voice his feelings this was a situation where he couls simply not refuse.

"lets run away to the coast" he barked softly, his eyes never faltering from her own gaze.
The coast had been his first home; the ocean, the sand, the sunsets had been what he had grown up with and loved, maybe she could love it too.
He knew that like him she was aware of what would become of them if they did not act soon. She was a smart girl, she knew that the Vale was dying and that they would die with it if they stayed. "together" he added, just to emphasize what he was really after by this 'lets run away thing'
It was not about wanting a change of scenery, or a place to crash during winter, he wanted to be with her.
