All Welcome
meant for @Witchbaby but AW I suppose!

It had been nearly a moon since her accident. Her physical health had returned fairly quickly, with ease of motion coming with the days gone by and her fur growing back into a thick black pelt. The Ravensblood wolves had been kind enough to her, and she spent her days pacing up and down the coast, hunting small game and watching the waves.

Her existence was quite lonely. She didn't talk much to anyone, and Varick, her only true friend--who had given her back her real name--was gone, vanished from the Wilds. She had been tolerated but not fully accepted by the pack in the bleeding forest. Thelxiope was kind; Samothes clever. But they weren't her friends, not really.

Miyako spent today by the bay, looking out to the sea. She thought often about giving herself up to the rolling expanse, to end this emptiness, though she figured that if she had been given back her life, atop that mountain, it must be meant for something. And at any rate, she was afraid to die: drowning would be a terrifying end.

But it had been a moon since she had woken up for the first time, and still--still!--she had little to no memories of her previous life. Nothing but faint traces of her family and the information Varick had given her, which was very little. She wanted desperately to build a new life, but with nothing, and with no one, she had no building blocks with which to do so.

<3 <3 sorry for the wait!

oh, how she's maintained breath-baited, heart drawn to heart, tensely kept for kinkajuú, and she wonders if the angel's return should accompany ecstasy or terror. but she does not stay by her love's side, not this time - not when there is so much at stake. the angel will always be her first love and her truest one but she cannot tie herself to her any more than she can tie herself to the tides. witchbaby can only move forward and trust that her heart will follow with her.

she returns to the plateau to touch base and then passes it, up north onto the coast she's yet to see. the cold is well and truly here, descending upon them in wind and snow, but still the ocean rolls and rumbles. it frightens her if she'd admit it.

today the sea is not so lonely, she finds: a new scent attached to an unfamiliar girl lurks by the shore, and wb approaches with her head aloft, letting all thoughts of kinkajuú and the sea flee for now. a bright chuff escapes her red-dashed throat, taking in the details of her strangely patched-down coat as she approaches close enough to speak.

The appearance of a lithe, red girl distracts her from her thoughts, and she looks over, searching for familiarity in the form. There is none, so she waits as the other draws close. Waits, and is enraptured by her eyes--a bright pink, like wildflowers. She had never seen anything quite like them.

"H-hi," she chokes out, staring a little too hard. She looks away for a moment, embarrassed, but is soon drawn back to the twin orbs. Her face breaks out in a smile, an expression that's grown increasingly rare as the days have gone by.

"Don't think I know you," she continues, with no semblance of grace. Still, she is curious, and her tongue is working faster than her mind, for once.

nakedly the poppy-pink gaze of her's sweeps across the other's patchwork form, taking in the funny-odd way her fur's grown over - something, something, an injury perhaps? it's too subtle for her to make out, and anyway the cutely choked hi draws her back to the girl's face. she's greeted by a smile and the witch mirrors it, mouth curled in a brightly lit grin, trademark-crooked.

"don't think i know you," witchbaby agrees with a giggle - what a silly thing to say! of course they haven't met yet, though of course she's happily oblivious to the stranger's affliction. "call me wb," she says, still smiling, "an' what can i call you?"

"Wb," she repeated, the short word rolling over her tongue gracefully. She smiled again, but the expression soon faded as the woman continued on.

What can I call you? She felt torn. Varick, bless him, had given her back her birth name--Miyako. And surely it fit better than the moniker Snowe she had given herself atop the mountain.

Yet she felt as though she didn't deserve Miyako. She was no more Miyako than she was Snowe. All of Miyako's memories had vanished weeks ago, without a trace, and with no sign of coming back again. Snowe had carved out an existence here, against all odds.

It wasn't a happy life, nor a fulfilling one, but it was the one she was stuck with.

"M-- Snowe," she amended hastily, giving the girl a weak smile. "My name is Snowe."

there is a beat filled with tense thoughts but witchbaby is none the wiser, pleasantly waiting for the beautiful girl's name. snowe - simple but elegant, and ironically mismatched which appeals to witchbaby's sensitivities. "snowe," she repeats, her tail swishing against her hocks. "that's cute," she adds with a grin, leaving the like you unsaid but implied in her playful pink gaze.

what would kinkajuú think to see her - ah, well, but does she care? (yes - and no - and yes, it's a carousel she's on.) "where're you from, miss snowe?" she asks, oblivious to the pain that the question could cause, still unaware of snowe's memory predicament.
