Little had an aversion to packs, as a general rule, unless she was stealing from one. But after she'd fled across the Wilds like a bat out of hell, she realized that she needed one; badly. Her injuries were nasty, most notably her missing appendage, though fortune spared her legs. She peered sadly at the mess that was her rump, burning as if she had sat on coals. The last few shreds of her magnificently feathery tail twitched feebly, and she yelped at the sudden pain that accompanied the movement.

She howled then, loud and long and streaked with pain. She wasn't sure what had gone so horribly wrong; perhaps it was the freaky intelligence of the pup of the annoying proximity of the father, but she could only hope that her next encounter went more smoothly.
He had it coming
He only had himself to blame
If you'd have been there
If you'd have seen it

Moonspear had been filled in recent days and Charon was proud for it. It'd been long since they had any trouble keeping their ranks filled; last winter had been a scarce one, but this winter they would flourish, surely, with their current numbers. When the pain-filled howl reached his ears Charon had been hanging with @Vela at the rendezvous site, teaching her some hunting manouvres on some of the last bugs that lingered round. At the howl he nuzzled her head and left her to practise her hunting alone. He told her that maybe she could involve @Galaxy, as the situation between the two girls was still tense — ever since Galaxy's disappearance and return from the bear's grasp; at first Vela had missed her, but once her sister was back her sadness had turned into jealousy for the extra attention Galaxy received at the time. Charon wished there was some way he could fix it, but he hoped @Rannoch's tactics would help in teaching them about the stars together. Charon'd always had a close connection to his siblings and he had lost many of them, so it pained him to see his beautiful perfect little girls, both of them, not getting along like this.

After saying good bye to Vela and receiving a scoff in return to his suggestion, Charon made his way to the borders. There he found a wolf who at first sight looked scarred, but as he came closer he realised there were fresh wounds. The smell of blood accompanied this stranger and as he scanned her it did not take long to notice the bloody remains of what had once been her tail. Cold, hard gaze turned from tail to face, his body exuding dominance and demanding submission while he chuffed to announce his presence and waited in further silence for her to say what she was doing here.
