All Welcome
The boy spent a great deal of his time haunting the same locales within the forest: the glen, its surrounding forest, the southern borders, and Redgrove in the territory's heart. He sometimes strayed further north in search of Euron or Maegi, and never went east due to the prevalence of water in that direction. A deep-seated sense of self-preservation warned him away from drowning hazards, which was very lucky for one small dwarf.

That day he went further west than he ever had before, and found himself descending toward a wide, gaping maw tucked into the side of a taller hill. Ramsay wasn't a very imaginative child, lacking some of the essential formative interactions that would lend him creativity, and so he saw only a cave. The jagged stone descending from its roof and jutting out of the entryway didn't resemble teeth to him; the pelts strewn about didn't resemble half-consumed animals falling into the devil's own mouth. It was just a cave, decorated much like the pack borders were, which Ramsay took for granted as a typical feature of packs.

He paused before he reached the bottom of his own hill, lifting up on his tippy-toes in order to tilt his head marginally and scent the air. Since the wolf who most commonly resided here was a long-time member of the pack, Ramsay found nothing remarkable about this place, but curiosity still drove him down at an awkward stunted trot toward the cave after several beats.

thank u for starting! <3
relmyna.
it was sheogorath who had named her, and he was also called cicero. or perhaps it was the other way around; no matter. relmyna whispered in her head the name over and over again, until it had become hers. she had taken to roaming the woodlands of blackfeather, acquainting herself with markers and scents she hadn't remembered. and slowly the tyro began to build in her mind the names of those roundabout her, though the tension of the newest litter's arrival escaped her.
she refused to leave the snitcher's side — the pale woman devoted herself to cicero as she had done for a year now. she knew no other way, and took pleasure in what she was able to do for him. today, however, he had gone off,  leaving her in the cave of teeth, and relmyna did not follow — the tyro sat at the cavemouth and gazed unseeingly out at the snowdrifts.
collect as she might the knowledge of her pack, relmyna knew nothing of herself
terich
and any attempt to glean from her memories resulted in excruciating agony that flared through the delicate bones of her ruined skull, for minutes at a time, driving strength from her body and wringing throaty cries from her destroyed muzzle. and so she had avoided it for some days now, though curiosity snapped its slavering jaws at her flank.
turquoise eyes refocused as the oddly shaped form of a child came into view. she watched impassively as the stunted babe drew near; perhaps in another life she might have recoiled, but relmyna did no such thing. she herself was deformed; why would she judge such in another? her eyes knew his color, the shade of his own gaze, and perception tickled at her mind, but she did not move.

From within the yawning cave mouth that he approached, a flash of white materialized, halting Ramsay in his tracks near the base of his own hill. He threw his ears up and his muzzle pulled earthward as much as his neck would allow as he regarded Relmyna across the short distance. He wasn't aware of Cicero's connection to the woman, nor that she had suffered as much at Sheogorath's hand as the man's own children suffered for their unnatural conception, and couldn't grasp a common thread between them.

Nevertheless, Ramsay was almost always driven by his curiosity, and eventually took another step in her direction before calling out, "who are you?" with an expectant swipe of his tongue across his nose.

he called to her. she said nothing, remaining still save for the inviting inclination of her muzzle toward him. he was an odd little thing, and relmyna found she felt a deep and abrupt affection for him, a feeling that had been engendered by no other creature in her limited memory. and while in time she would tentatively sort the feeling, for now the tyro enjoyed it.
while she could not answer his call, relmyna made of herself an affable companion, arranging her body into a friendly pose as the child approached.

She didn't answer him. Instead of conversing with words, Relmyna resorted to body language, a form of communication that Ramsay understood well but rarely utilized beyond what was necessary for daily interactions. He took her up on her invitation by sidling closer until he was standing between the sharp spires of rock jutting toward the cave's ceiling and peering up through his lashes at her, but he didn't attempt to converse with his body.

Instead, he seated himself, shoulders scarcely a foot from the ground as his short spine collapsed into his haunches, and told her, "I'm Ramsay." Like any kid not yet stripped of their extroversion, he had no issues with just talking at adults rather than to them, which he confirmed when moments later he said, "Never been here. You like it?" Silly boy; he didn't yet know what sort of place this was.

she watched him as he sat near her, but he did not speak as she sought to do. instead, he settled his twisted body and piped again. ramsay. she committed the name to memory by mentally repeating it a handful of times, as was her way these days, and swayed her tail against the stony ground with a warm nod. she did enjoy the cave, with its sharp teeth and chaotic demeanor — for what it was used, she herself also did not know.
on a whim, relmyna parted her jaws and made some low sound, ears wilting with apology. perhaps now the boy would understand she could not converse as they both wanted. after a pause, she reached beside her haunch with a small forepaw and pushed the remains of a squirrel carcass toward him. was he hungry? her turquoise gaze inquired as the tyro waited for his reaction.

Relmyna offered only a nod for his question, and he supposed that would have to suffice. She was open enough with her body language that he could more or less understand her. "Why don't you talk?" he callously asked, having never known a world in which a wolf might choose not to speak or be physically incapable of it, but if she refused to answer that, then he would drop the subject.

"It's cool," he agreed, and would probably think the same thing when he finally learned what Wolfskull's purpose really was. The benefit of being raised around such dark, macabre things was that none of them seemed dark to him. "Live here?" he wondered, as brief as ever, but if she nodded or shook her head to that, he didn't notice it; he was too busy looking at the mangled squirrel she'd produced.

"For me?" It was the first gift he'd ever gotten from someone that wasn't family, and it made him feel warm. He wasn't great at eating whole meat yet—he slobbered on it more than actually chewing it—but he stretched out a limb and pulled it toward him nonetheless, battling a sudden self-consciousness that welled up in him at the thought of trying to eat something like this in front of the kindly woman.

relmyna felt that there simply must be another way to communicate aside from looks and the language of her body; such questions put to her caused a realization that answers of 'yes' and 'no' would not always suffice. and so, with a mixture of apprehension and amusement mingling in her expression, she parted her jaws and showed the boy the ragged bit of tongue she had left. closing her mouth after a moment, relmyna shook her head. no tongue. no voice. perhaps he would make the connection.
to his next quick inquiry, the patchwork wolfess shook her head. she did not live here; she followed sheogorath where he would go, but found her own shelter in the evenings, a small den she was slowly excavating. a smile trailed the length of her ruined mouth as she gazed toward the cruel oddities that littered the place; relmyna appreciated its atmosphere.
another nod, this one slow and warm. it was his to keep. the woman's brow furrowed momentarily; she gazed at his small body and wondered if he could partake of the meat, but the thought passed. she did not question its origin, nor her maternal verve; it was one of a thousand odd and disjointed thoughts that wandered through her mind each day.
instead, relmyna pulled the skull of a rabbit from the snow and pushed it toward the child, sniffing at it deeply before she did so. did he know from what animal it came?

Her jaws parted, and Ramsay saw in there a most horrific thing: nothing. There was nothing in her mouth where his tongue was, which made him unconsciously run his along the backs of his teeth. He wasn't so much disturbed by it as fascinated; he assumed that she had been born without a tongue or something, like how Maegi had been born with a twisted clubfoot, and how he had been born with half a spine. Armed with that, he insensitively exclaimed, "you're like me!" and Relmyna gained +5 admiration points.

It made sense why she wasn't responding with words. It was like how Maegi walked weird because of her foot, not that Ramsay had any issue with his sister's disability. He maintained that her foot was the most pure part of her, and he took Relmyna for a pure being as well, even though the truth was grisly. He swept the remains of the squirrel closer to himself and then dropped his belly to the ground, bringing his head close enough that he could gnaw on one of its tattered limbs. His cheeks burned with a sudden and unexplained shame that he couldn't just bend his head down like everyone else did, but he didn't stop.

His dark blue eyes wandered up to Relmyna's darkly marked face as he gnawed, and then dropped slowly to the skull she presented. He pulled back his head and shoulders jointly, trailing a thin line of drool, and then cryptically told her, "that used to be someone." According to Indra, that should evoke some sort of emotion, but he felt nothing. "Not anymore," he tacked on when he failed to feel moved by the rabbit's demise. As to Relmyna's actual meaning, he didn't quite catch it, and went back to chomping on the limb while asking around it, "you know Euron or Maegs?"

to her surprise, relmyna saw intrigue blossom in the boy's eyes — she had not expected this. and it somehow warmed her as she watched him lower his body to the earth, unable to bend as she might. they were not so unalike; here was a new sort of kith. relmyna too settled on her belly, folding one forepaw over the other and propping her chin against a thinbone wrist.
the way he moved was rather fascinating to the tyro; she lifted her head at his words, ears flicking forward and turquoise eyes alight. the answers rose in her throat but she was with no way to speak them. instead, she gave a slight smile and shook her head as he stated the bones he held were of no account.
and to his question she shook her head again, though a clear curiosity lit her features: to whom did those names belong?

With the rabbit's lack of being confirmed, Ramsay quickly moved on from it. A skull like that would have interested most children with immensity, but he was by now so used to the sight that it did little for him. He was more likely to be excited about things that normal children saw often: a shed antler, or a beaver's tail, or a pale birch stick with its leaves still attached. How strange that his upbringing made macabre things mundane and ordinary things extraordinary.

"Euron is brother," he told her, chewing thoughtlessly on the half-decayed squirrel. "He sneaks. Sneaks everywhere. Can't find him unless he wants you to." Well, not strictly true. Euron was a natural for sure, but not a professional yet. He was detected more readily than Ramsay knew; to Ramsay, Euron was basically invisible. "Maegi is sister," he went on, and wrinkled his nose thoughtfully. He didn't spend a lot of time with Maegi of late. She didn't come to the glen so often. "She learns stuff," he said unhelpfully, "and is smart." What else could he really say? He didn't understand the stuff she was learning, not really.

"You meet them sometime," he insisted, and went back to chewing the squirrel with his eyes fixated on Relmyna's nose.

had she a tongue, on its very tip would have been the question what is it you do? but as it was, relmyna could not inquire into ramsay's personal details; instead, she set about committing what the boy had given her to memory. euron. maegi. a brother who snuck and a sister who learned things. and they have a brother who observes, relmyna decided, though the thought was not completely conscious; it merely entered her head.
a vigorous nod was given the spiderling's suggestion that she meet his brother and sister; if they had half ramsay's odd charm, the tyro was fully aware of her capability to feel the same odd pull toward them. presently, however, she found a bone to gnaw with the edge of her teeth, joining the young wolf in the understated pleasure of this pastime.

Seems like a good place for a fade if that works for you!

Relmyna's nod was the neat bow to wrap up that conversation, and Ramsay returned to the squirrel with nothing much else to say. He wasn't well versed in carrying a conversation, let alone with a wolf who couldn't verbally respond. It was just as well, for Relmyna joined him in chewing and the dwarf fell into comfortable silence beside her and let this menial task consume him.
