under a veil of indigo skies smattered by crystalline constellation of thick stars, iliksis parted from the tree-line and slid into view of the darklit plains. the thin crescent moon afforded very little light, washing the flatlands in a weak and ineffective pearly glow.

iliksis could hear bison rumbling in the distance, their forms dark shadows against the rising night. he was hungry - his belly had not seen a meal in a week - but not so hungry as to brazenly stalk into bison camp. in silence he stalked off towards the river, trailing the various scents of wildlife and wolf with a muted sense of interest.

It was a few days ago, now, that the girl had simply stepped over the borders and headed north, for what purpose she did not know. Her time in Tindome had been, up to this point, much as it had been in Undersea. She stocked the caches, participated in hunts when the howl of another spurned her forth, but beyond that, she saw little of her packmates. It was self-imposed, her isolation; she had come to the general conclusion that she did poorly in a social setting.

Bison where here, those great and lumbering beasts. She approached for no reason other than bland interest, slipping near to the herd with a hunter's silence, though her stomach was full and the sharp angles of her body softened after weeks in the pack. The rush of a river temped the harshness of her throat, and gradually the angled towards its muted roar.

along the mix of sundry scents that marked various creature's passing, one stood above the rest - her scent soft and inviting. iliksis paused from his trailing and cast his sharp muzzle in the air, drinking deep of the fresh scent while his tongue ran hungrily across his narrow jaws.

his subject panned into view, a svetle and bright contrast against the dull snow. iliksis felt a stirring in his belly immediately, for she was young and touched by the brand of some outlandish sun. if little girls were his weakness, red-headed ones were doubly so - they were kissed by an inimitable fire that iliksis desired to quell and keep his own.

quietly he strode after the young girl, picking up his pace as he closed the distance between the two of them. his gait was fleet and mostly silent, though it would be a matter of time before akantha was aware of his presence for no matter how stealthy a wolf intended to be, the scuttle of snow and footfall would soon alert her of his approach.

her muzzle dipped into the river, cold and clear, the water cutting a path down her parched throat as greedily she drank. it was sometime after she pulled her muzzle from its waters that she approach of another was made apparent, her ears flicked forward to stand rigidly atop her crown, head whipping back to peer hawkishly over her shoulder.

the yearling twisted to face the newcomer, tail twitching at her hocks in an attempt to put the stranger at ease; she was no threat. he was a male, dark and svelte, reminding her in some ways of her own angular form. and yet something felt distinctly off, the male seemed for all accounts to be no threat; and yet she could not immediately cast aside the notion that she ought to be wary.

as he watched the female bend over along the bank, his chest lurched. she was gamine and svelte and the image of her contorted along the reeds recalled to his mind a beauty he desired to capture, to contain -- he longed to explore the willowy length of her body, to command it.

she was aware of him, and she turned her slender neck to view him. iliksis met her golden gaze, finding the depths of her eyes inviting. he stepped closer, his motions slow and ever so deliberate -- until he had scaled the bank and was (presumably) alongside her. he extended his muzzle towards her chest, his breath slow as he drew from the bitter air the warmth of her scent.

if he could just get close enough to her, to wash his cold body in her fragrance - to douse his cold limbs in the richness of her velutinous and downy fur.

He moved closer, his gaze meeting hers. his own orbs were a steely yellow, bright against the darkness of his face. she was made motionless by confusion and something akin to interest, in the male and his oddness. his muzzle he stretched out to near touch her chest, breathing in her scent in a manner that had her wary and ill at ease, stepping back slowly as confusion glinted in her gaze, unsure of whether to slip away or act in turn, and settled for merely waving her tail lightly at her haunches docilely, head canted a fraction as she regarded him still, ears twitching once as she fell motionless again.

the female's wariness did not go unnoticed, though iliksis tried to mold himself into a disarming aura. she surely had every reason to suspect him; no matter how hard iliksis tried to contort himself into some manner of harmless charm, there would always be a spectre of darkness that shrouded him -- one that could be neither hid nor fled from.

how intensely he wanted to touch her, to caress the fiery red of her winter coat -- yet for now he refrained. her unsure tail wag was reciprocated with a gentle sway of his own tail - a gesture designed to disarm her.

he was close enough now he could feel her body heat simmer off of her in a kaleidoscope of brilliant scents and scintilating colors. he did not give much warning before he struck, and iliksis struck in the manner of a pit viper - coiled, cold and most assuredly dangerous.

he attempted to use their proximity to his advantage. she was small, young - in his mind, an easy mark to conquer. with a surge of surprising power for one so lithe, iliksis reared on his hinds and brought his front limbs forward in an effort to pin her from her shoulder down. his teeth, already bare and menacing, aimed for her scruff -- all the while he attempted to quell any of her struggles by attempting to pin her resolutely into the ground. if he hit his mark, he would throw the entire of his weight upon her back with the goal to render her powerless, his body used as a leverage against any escape she might attempt.

perhaps her wariness was misplaced, for his tail echoed her own in a gentle wag. he came nearer still, and her skin prickled warily as she saw clearly the breath leave him in a column of patchy fog. she was at a loss, having never encountered such a situation in her short life, of half a mind to attempt to slip away but unsure of the result of such an action.

with the swiftness of a viper did he move, her own reflexive side lunge a moment delay. he landed across her shoulders; she bucked in a panic but his aim was true, and his fangs found her scruff. sound broke her lips then, a yelp rent the silent scuffle as she twisted back frantically, maw snapping only on empty air, for the most part, rear legs kicking out in a frenzy. but her frenzy did not have much effect beside draining her energy, and soon her flails became half-hearted, her snaps slow and clumsy, though panic urged her on still.

her teeth snapped at the air, finding tufts of fur along his cheek. incensed, the male drove deeper, pushing from his reserves as he forced her to the ground in a gristly display of dominant power. it was in this moment iliksis felt the most defined: he breathed deep of her panic and a swell formed around his abdomen as she struggled beneath him. she, helpless and face down in the snow -- he, frothing with power, having her in the cusp of his command.

he was so intimately aware of her body struggling hard against his. he brought his muzzle down to her cheek, inhaling the fear that seeped from her in salty and tangible form. he was in control; he relished the feel of her vulnerable body beneath him. she had stopped fighting back, but he felt the tension of her body quite intimately.

for a while iliksis was mostly still -- his body was, anyway. as far as what stirred around his loins, it was not still, and it grew and grew in the manner of an insidious vine until it hurt to press it against anatha's struggling flank. he brought his elbows down upon her back and pressed his limbs to her throat, positioning himself directly behind her. for a moment he hung there, his body shivering with the intensity of his perceived power -- he savored that sensation deeply -- and with a single, controlling thrust, forced himself inside of her quivering body.

She felt at once ragged and helpless, for her snaps gained nothing more than fur or empty air, while her kicks served only for the stranger to push her down into the earth harder. Would she die here? Was this how death came, in wariness and then the swift attack of another, the helplessness spreading until it filled her? This was the manner in which prey died, and wolves; well, she had imagined they died in some manner more dignified.

He positioned himself atop her, limbs pressing against her throat, and as she took a ragged breath she wondered where one looked when they were about to die. And yet his fangs did not come, rather, a sensation she had not felt before, something she could not make sense of. Strained whine escaped her as she stilled fully, breaths ragged still, in response to the pressure and hurt, confusion and fear.

blood pounded through iliksis' skull as he found his way inside the fiery-furred female. for a defiler, his movements were eerily gentle as he rocked his pelvis against her - he did not rush -- he simply took his time, driving himself atop her with the grim expertise of a monster who was very familar with such a brutal craft.

beneath him, anatha's breaths came in ragged gasps - the noise was another sensation that deeply aroused him. that noise was the feeling of taking from others what was not his to take. he hoped she would cry, whimper -- anything that would solidify him as the one with irrefutable power in this situation. in this moment, iliksis got as close to elation as a being as godless and wretched as he would ever experience. with loud and tantalizing groans he came closer, his motions more fervent and possessed until he had fully spent himself inside of her.

he stilled then, his heart pounding in his chest and his limbs almost weak as he felt his body throb inside of her. what first had been wet and warm slowly became fluidly cold.

after a few minutes this way, he finally moved. almost tenderly, he set to licking the corner of her temple, hoping to taste tears if there were any. one long and angular limb attempted to pull tightly around her throat as he did so. he may have finished, but he was not done with her -- she was his quarry, his trophy -- and he would delight in taking everything from her.

He moved against her, pushed and hurt in a way that was so completely alien. She breathed a strained whine, low and quiet, as he groaned she felt suddenly as if she were being used. It seemed eons that she was trapped beneath him; but soon the sensations ceased and he stilled, and yet did not remove himself from atop her. Her eyes she squeezed shut tightly, for while she had decided that if she faced death she ought to keep them open, in the face of bitter shame and fear it was far better to keep them closed.

Gently the stranger set to licking her temple, and she jerked, forcing a "don't"  from her throat, constricted as it was by his forelimb. She ought to run, flee; but after whatever had happened finished, she felt numb, and could only tense away from him as her gaze popped open to stare at the ground before her.

she uttered some form of protest, her voice hoarse as a rough 'don't' met iliksis' ears. he leaned against her, fighting her resistance by clutching her spine tight against his chest. he could see her eyes; they were glassy and dull -- it gave him great satisfaction to witness the sheer pain he had inflicted upon her.

he could not part with her yet - she was too pretty, too soft - there was something lamb-like about her figure that sparked his insides. he would keep her alive, his play-thing -- already he thought of ways he would torment her.

his tongue retreated back into his thin jaws and he studied his toy, brushing his whiskers against the flush of her cheek. "where do you live?" he inquired, his voice soft despite its rare use. he was wrapped entirely around her now, holding her the way a spider might entangle its prey -- and with slight constriction he sought to press his arm against her throat if she did not supply a quick and expedient answer.

She forced her eyes open, remembering her earlier thought that she ought to face death with open gaze. She did not know if death would come for her, did not know what the male wanted, only knew that the uncertainty only served to terrorize her further. His question was met with silence, gaze void of tears and yet glassy and dull. Only when his limbs pressed against her neck and she struggled to draw air into her hungry lungs did she speak, the word sounding as if it had been dragged up her throat. "south."  She fell silent once more, though this time tears sparked her gaze, drawn there by exertion and emotion.

iliksis was not pleased by her answer. it was vague, and insufficient -- he sought to tighten his grip, a deep growl rumbling in his throat. "south? give me a place girl, or i will will do much worse to you." whether or not she could devise anything worse was not up to her -- iliksis had all manner of unspeakable things he was ready to commit -- even to something as cherished as his newfound toy.

he noticed then tears spring to her eyes; a malevolent shade of an expression overcame him - once more he was violently and inexplicably pleased by that look of pain and shock. it moved him in ways not even their coupling had. he would remember that expression for nights to come, and would often revisit this spot to remind himself of how powerful he had felt defiling her.

His words frightened her; for already he had done something foreign and painful and terrifying; it was not a stretch to imagine that he could do more. Any thoughts of lying did not occur to her now; exposed and vulnerable as she felt, throat bruising as she gasped desperately. "king elk forest." She bucked against him once, but the movement held little vigor.

She wanted to know what it was he had done; and yet she did not, did not dare to understand or put a name to the act. Darkness tinged the edges of her gaze already, shock and lack of air coming dangerously close to stealing conscience from her, though adrenaline kept the dark at bay, for now.

iliksis was loathe to part the warmth of her flesh; this resistance was the closest he'd ever get to possessing an intimate relationship - he did not forge them, he took them -- and anatha's bucking form beneath him was a cold reminder that the only women to ever grace his bed would be women he forced there.

king elk forest meant little to him, but he kept the name on the tip of his tongue. "good." he crooned, unfolding one limb after the next as he extricated himself from within her with a suckling squelch. "i will come visit." he supplicated the ominous statement with a long lick of his tongue, hoping to lap up some of the freshly welled tears on her cheek he had seen moments before.

he had let go of her lithe form, though his gaze still lingered on her sylph-like construction. it burned in his brain -- and he would not forget the touch of her soft fur against his cheek for a long while. he fell in the snow a few feet away, his breaths coming in ragged inhales. he knew what would happen next -- like a stunned doe, she would likely rise to her splindly legs and flee. he would enjoy watching her backside retreat - and perhaps, would think of the lissom roundness of her haunches at a later date.

His limbs unfolded around her, and he pulled himself from her with a sound that made her wilt, the heavy scent of whatever act had just concluded thick on her pelt. With him withdrawn, she felt hollow, cold, but his next words were quick to reintroduce the burning fear into her. His tongue passed over the tears that had gathered, and with a burning breath she lurched forward, held on swaying limbs and the very image of a stunned doe that Ikisis had so predicted.

His gaze clung to her, she felt its taint still. Stomach rolling, she took a step, swaying and almost crumbling before fear pushed her onward, into a trot and then a canter, away, away, away.

she wasted no time rising to her feet, though her efforts were at first faltering at best. iliksis watched, unsympathetic for the stunned girl. he had what he had came here for - his stomach was full, his lust satiated, his insecurities temporarily put at bay. comfortable with what he had done, he smiled to himself as he pulled his limbs underneath him.

anatha's footfall was fleet, and he studied the hasty pawprints she left in his wake. he would return to this spot many times over the course of the next few weeks, cherishing the violence that had befallen here.
