terance was feeling-- once again-- pretty confident after his conversation with rannoch. he could do this-- this wouldn't be like those other times. there wouldn't be a curfew, or a charon, or... or he didn't even know what else stopped him all those other times. maybe alya was right, maybe he had just been pussyfooting around all this time. well, not anymore.

focusing on alya's reassurance that he was hot property, terance walked with the rabbit in his jaws, following along @Lyra's scent. it was getting stronger, but hadn't spotted her amongst the snowy cliffs just yet.

After their conflict with Vaati had come to a resolution, and justice had been brought upon Galaxy's killer, it seemed things had quietened somewhat. Of course, tensions simmered in the background and Lyra knew they would come to a head soon. Between Korei's grievances with her family (and the Cerberus' own with her), Gannet and his leg, and the forthcoming war with the Blackfeather pack, Lyra's attention was torn.

For now, however, she revelled in the peace, however brief it may be. She had found a ledge not too far up the mountain and settled upon it. The sky was partially obscured by trees but her focus was elsewhere today. A black figure walked below, and Lyra wiggled to the very edge of her perch and let her paws hang over it, resting her head upon them with a teasing smile. "Who's that for?" she called out to Terance, eyeing the rabbit swinging from his jaws.

her voice caught him off gaurd-- he wasn't expecting it to come from above. his crown tipped back, finding her pretty head resting on those pretty paws. he smiled, ears cupped forward. "you," he replied through the hare, trying to ignore the fact that his heart was getting caught in his throat. stay down, he thought to it, and then glanced forward again, finding a few boulders he could use to climb up to her. and then he did.

he strode forward, placing the pale hare before her. she looked like she was part of a painting, paws crossed, leaning on a cliff overlooking the horizon. he suddenly felt less confident-- but he could do this. he had to do this. but zues he prayed this didn't backfire. "i was looking for you," he added, lowering himself to sit.

He looked good from his angle. When Terance looked up, eyes widened in surprise, they caught a glimmer of light and shone the most beautiful shade of emerald she had ever seen. Lyra felt her face flush and she quirked her head — a small, minuscule movement that beckoned him to her. She didn't question why he had been looking for her, but was secretly humbled. Deep down, she had a hunch that he may have fancied her, but she wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual. Nearly every boy made her heart flutter and cheeks hot; what if this was just the same as all the others?

Suddenly Terance was beside her and offering a gift in the form of a hare. She glanced at it before looking back up to him, a gentle smile breaking the coldness that had befallen her features recently. She moved to one side, allowing him space upon the ledge to lay down beside her, before reaching over and dragging the hare to drape over her forelimbs. "Why's that?" she responded nonchalantly, nosing the creature to find the best spot to tear into before glancing up at the boy again, unaware of his inner turmoil.

she'd made room for him, which terance took as a good thing. or maybe it was just a neutral thing? maybe he was reading too deep into it-- he was probably reading too far into it. it was, after all, the polite thing to do.

he slid down onto his stomach as she poked at the rabbit. she asked a question, and his ears cupped forward again as a soft smile graced his features. it wasn't that smile alya claimed was his winning look, but he wasn't sure he should just dive head first into this... should he? oof, too many ways to go about this-- he opted for something softer. "i wanted to see you," he said, holding her same nonchalance.

He met her blasé demeanour with his own, sliding down next to her with a stretch of dark forelimbs. She spied his warm smile from the corner of her eye, and was tempted to affect as Alya — all playful words and flirty grins. She wasn't sure if Terance would see through her act, though, given how long he had known them now. She wasn't as skilled as her sister in manipulation, anyway.

Focusing back on the hare, Lyra gently turned it onto its side with careful, precise movements before cutting open its stomach with a snip of her teeth. Blood instantly stained the frosted ground as she turned back to Terance, swiping the blood off her maw with a flick of her tongue. Again, she was humbled by his remark, but was also kind of expecting it. They hadn't had a moment like this in a while, too busy with all of, well, everything going on at Moonspear. Things were calm, at least for tonight.

"Well, there's three of me, you know," she commented with a light laugh, glancing up at him again, deciding to see just how long she could toy with the poor boy. There must have been a specific reason he was looking for her, but Lyra wanted to delay that as long as possible. "But I guess you were wanting to see Lyra," she added with a slight lift of her brow, putting on her best Alya look.

at first, terance saw nothing wrong with the way that lyra acted. it was lyra, it had to be. as far as terance was concerned, hydra didn’t just lay around at night and alya did not care to see him as of late... right? he was baffled by her next statement, his expression falling quite visibly. his ears, originally cupped forward, splayed back ever so slightly. what? was this some sort of test... leaving him to think it was her for so long? had he seriously already failed?

as smart as terance believed himself to be— he had enough faith in others to typically take their word at face value. though he originally believed this to be lyra, if she said she wasn’t he wouldn’t question it. he shifted, shoulders rolling a bit. “well, obviously,” he said with a dry chuckle. “... so does that mean i failed at being forward?” he then asked, mostly teasingly. ugh. he really didn’t know what he was doing. clearly he didn’t sound too beat up or mad about it, if anything just mildly frustrated he hadn’t actually run into lyra.

"I'm kidding, Terance," she said with an amused laugh, making to nose his shoulder. She could have continued to take advantage of his trusting nature, to make him believe she was not actually Lyra and then left him to simmer in his frustration for the rest of the night (because you best believe Lyra would have done that). However, his gift of the hare placated her, and the girl was noticeably more friendly with food in her stomach. She relaxed her features and smiled. "It's me."

She then began to dig through the contents of the creature's insides, tearing out its tiny but nutritional organs, not thinking to even offer Terance any. She had been more ravenous than usual lately, taking delight in teasing boys with her sisters, and her moods had been as wild as winter storms. She had no idea why, but she wasn't too perturbed by it all seeing as her identical sisters were going through the same thing (though perhaps to a lesser degree).

"So, what've you been up to?" she asked suddenly. She knew he was probably aware of her own recent affairs.

alya-- no, sorry, it was lyra, didn't keep the facade up for very long. terance's ears splayed in mild annoyance, mostly out embarrassment that he'd fallen for that so easily-- and almost given away alya's secret. that would've made a few problems, he reckoned. he tried to play off this emotion, if it actually was a smooth transition... well that'd be up to lyra to decide. "oh, well, good," he said softly with a dip of his dark muzzle, "i didn't care to see anyone else tonight."

terance was in fact aware of her recent affairs, and he also didn't care to delay this any longer than he needed to. that was what alya said he was doing, he needed to stop. though any other day he would've loved to hear about her whole day and all of it's entirety. he shrugged.

"a whole lot of border patrol," he said with a tip back of his head to look upwards thoughtfully. his gaze fell back to her before his head did, and he offered a soft, knowing smile. "can't be too careful... what with all that's going on."
