All Welcome
Although she had been highly irritated by the outcome of their last encounter, when she had smelled a trail on Korei leaving the mountain a few days ago, it had been reasonable to wonder why, despite all the relevant inklings on the matter already. She wasn't going to discredit her entirely so soon.

Now, a handful of days later.. still no sign, and now she was really finding it difficult to believe this was normal. Korei rarely left. She knew the pale daughter had been hurt by their choices, their responses, and all else, but to think she would actually flee from them in the middle of wintertime. With this suspicion in mind, Amekaze was disappointed and still struggling to believe it from her firstborn. She had always been different, but this was pushing it to a new, unexpected extreme that none of them needed right now.

If it was the case, the dark matriarch hoped she would survive away from them. Korei might have acted clueless some of the time, yet deep, deep down beyond that, Ame still had always wanted to have faith in her--she had seen bits of her stubbornness, and knew she was hers, above all else. That was why the mother wouldn't go fervently chasing her down; Korei had chosen this path, and should carry the weight of the consequence.. Ame had her own life to lead, after all. But just maybe it wasn't all a lost cause.. although if she went and froze in the wilds at large, then it would be an entire waste.

With this all sitting heavy on her mind, she carved out a meandering path into the middlegrounds of the mountain, looking for @Vela now that she had picked up Jarilo along the way. He was trailing somewhere behind after a scent she pointed him towards. The son was still a little wary of her after some of her recent rebukes of him, and that was fine. Right now, she just mainly liked knowing where he was and seeing him occasionally was good affirmation.

Nevertheless, it was unusual that she sought out her youngest daughter without any solid reason like this at all. She only had half an idea where to look (beyond with Charon), and skimmed along with her nose down low, stalking for the freshest trail.

Found it! Haha and Yay a Mama thread!

The news of Galaxy's death had traveled through the pack. It had also reached Vela. Her parents would have told her. Apparently, it wasn't even a normal death but a murder. Vela wondered who would want to murder her sister. Perhaps, Drogon had been right that outside the borders it was dangerous. Her sister had been away from their pack lands, she believed. Vela didn't bother to really know the full story. Vela thought that it should bother her more than her sister died but it didn't. She showed compassion to her parents not to raise too much suspicion but in fact, she was more than fine with her annoying attention seeking sister leaving their pack. Even though it would be forever.

Perhaps later in life, she would wonder about her sister and what she was like. Vela's ego didn't bother to think of her deceased sister. Even in death, she sought all the attention. "Murder", what if she just dropped dead one day and everyone assumed her sister was interesting enough to be murdered. Vela snorted. The young female had grown far more serious lately. She was genuinely interested in the mercenary trade after Drogon taught her a few tricks. She tried to practice some steps, jumping forward and then trying to dodge or jump forward by using her shoulder. She wished she could practice on someone but she had promised Drogon she wouldn't go close to the borders, hence why she was more up in the mountains.

The princess was rather surprised when she got a whiff of her mother and bother. She glanced up and turned figuring they were close. "Oh hai, mom!," she greeted and trotted towards her. Vela greeted her mother by moving up against her and a lick under Ame's chin. She was more of a daddy's girl but that doesn't mean that she hated her mother. She just didn't know a lot about her, Vela realized. She also greeted her brother, more roughly, trying to grab his ear and bite in it. He was still her sibling after all, and those wolves one could occasionally bite, right?

It took a little while before she found the trail to be warming but her nose had led her true. Soon enough, she spied the last pale daughter and gave a little chirp back to her tagalong before striding on a little faster to meet up with her. Ame's tail wagged merrily, and when they could contact, she chuffed happily and reached to nudge her. "Hey," she returned in a low, fond rumble as she watched the juveniles greet each other. Surprisingly enough, she didn't scent Charon immediately in the vicinity either, which might make her chances of having more of Vela's focus even better. She had always found it curious how his lookalike had come to favor him so mightily. Something just a bit narcissistic about it, right? Although Ame was humored by it, as she expected no less.

That fact had always been fine with her. She had struggled more to connect to this litter when they were younger, although she had always been dutiful and loving; it did not bother her in the slightest when one daughter hugely preferred spending time with her father. She couldn't blame her. She had just been a touch more distant mother this year, perhaps thrown a little off by their runty littermate, a(n annoying) boy, and just how different they could all be. Plus, all of this was running closely alongside her other litter making for interesting yearlings.. The last year had been strange, certainly. "Are you busy with anything?" she asked, turning back to set sights on Vela alone this time.

Jarilo prowled along on her trail a little warily after he'd been quite denied for this time with mama a lot lately. But, now was fine as evidenced by the lack of teeth, and he didn't smell any of his older sisters immediately around either (for once).. so he knew he had to just warm up to it and get into his groove. If he was lucky, and minded himself, there was a distinct chance she would show or teach him something good.. so he knew better than to get distracted from it by brooding.

When they found Vela, his mood skipped up a notch and he was happy for a rough greeting. He growled playfully and he beat his tail through the air with a little excess force. Everything had seemed so dour and ugh lately, especially with Galaxy gone now too.. he was happy to try to shake that if only for a moment. "Vela-ela-elaaa," he sang-song through his throaty snarls, and tried to bite back at the thick fur on her neck--or whatever else, as he halfheartedly tried to bat the teeth away from his own ear. His ears switched when their mother spoke, but he didn't exact stop what he was doing to reply; he was here and that's what mattered.

Vela eventually let go of Jarilo's ear. She tried to dodge his bite in her neck but she was too close. It wasn't a hard bite so she wasn't too bothered with it. Just some sibling wrestling. She tried to jump on top of him and press him down. However, her attention was caught to her mother as she asked what she was doing. Her tail wagged. "Drogon taught me about being a mercenary!," she spoke to her mother.

"I wanna be a warrior princess!," she claimed proudly and held her tail highly while it was still wagging. She had it pictured. She would be just as cool as her father and help with protecting the pack. She liked to do the fighting. Especially the sneaky fighting. "I was practicing my moves!," she spoke and then glanced at Jarilo, wondering if she could just use her brother as an opponent to show her skills.

She had relaxed a notch, she realized now as the siblings seemed all well and good. They didn't seem hurt by the absence of their third. In fact, quite the opposite. She was a touch surprised, but she could try to find their attitude towards that loss inspire her to do the same. "Oh, Drogon?" she quipped, perking a brow and obviously pleased (for his behalf as well) to hear this. "That is good, there is a lot to learn," she approved wholly. "What has he taught you so far?" Anything was a good start, and for her to have perspectives of several in her exposure would only help her in the long run--which the dark mother hoped she would have, unlike her ill-fated sister.

A warrior princess, though. Ame answered first with a slow nod. "Quite a proud title." She was keeping note of this, as it appealed to her to raise her daughters to be fierce. The gentler ones didn't have a very stunning record here, lately. Ame shot a glance to Jarilo next. "He has been practicing too," Amekaze smirked at him, then Vela with a quick wink. If they were keen to.. she'd not slow them down.

Jarilo was quite content. He got to make his contact, so he mouthed at her fur as much as he could and she did use this to get an edge over him soon after. He toppled with a "Oooghff," sort of noise, but didn't really fight back too dramatically as he half-listened to mama and his sister go about warrior princess and otherwise. With her on him, he tried to twist around enough to get his legs up and at her--his paws all over her the main plan. This way, he'd at least be awkward to deal with if he had to be down on the ground. "Awhhh can I be a warrior princess too??" he snickered almost like he had before, although this was more of a little insider for Wraen and that third of the cerberus.

When it pertained to him, although he was still down, he yapped up at Vela "I have!" as if there were any doubt, paired with a big toothy grin of his. He hadn't been training much with Drogon (who was far fluffier and sturdier-looking than Jarilo) but he was able to keep up with his older sisters more than ever before now--who were even more fearsome! And, he had always shadowed mama, someone more spine-chilling than the trio, all that he was able and allowed. But she did not often spar him these days. Last she had, they had always been very one-sided, and a lot of smearing him in the dirt while he desperately scraped for any grip on anything.

Now, he knew why.. and because he would have to earn the right to them back. She still taught him, it was just different now than it had been before; tougher, more practical, maybe? So.. If Vela was practicing.. and he was practicing, then the answer here was obvious. Ever so subtly, he got ready to spring at the first chance he got.

Vela felt Jarilo move under her but her attention was more on her mother rather than on her brother. She nodded eagerly. There was a lot to learn. She wanted to learn a lot. Vela did have a later start, or that was what it felt like to her. But that didn't mean she didn't want to learn. On the contrary, she was extremely eager to pick up more lessons from everyone in the pack. Not just Drogon. "How to get someone bigger on the ground," she spoke. "And how to patrol," she explained to her mother.

Vela huffed and tried to nip Jar somewhere when he snickered at her. She would make a great warrior. Her daddy would be proud of her, just like her momma and the rest of her family. Her eye moved to Jarilo as it was told to her, and confirmed, that he had been practicing as well. Vela realized that she was already sort of on top of him, so that made it far easier right? She instantly moved her muzzle down to protect the underside of her neck.

What awkwardness Jarilo might have intended for Vela to feel, she didn't. However, she only had experience with getting someone on the ground under her. She never really had this scenario before. She reached down to bite him, or at least the tried. But this was also her brother. Should she fight dirty like Drogon taught her? Jar was still her brother. She wasn't sure how much she wanted to injure him. This was where her training was lacking.

If I need to change something let me know!! Learning together with Vela xD

She nodded sagely. None of Amekaze's offspring had grown to be towering, massive beasts so far, so surely, it would do Vela good to know how to bring down something bigger.. and of course, patrolling was always useful, no matter where or when. Their landscape may have given them a tactical advantage as far as their heights went, but where they did meet the ground, she had always been quick to devote her energy to keeping defense tight so that the rest of the spire could be safe from outside threat. "Ah. Those are two very good places to start," she said. These were lessons she herself had begun with once, too. "With a little more practice, maybe you could patrol with me one day soon.." she said, to extend the same offer Jarilo was given on most days.

But, now, she wanted to see what she could do. Jarilo had some foundation work, although he still primarily functioned with his tenacity first. He lacked defense, of course, although evasion was improving finally for him after weeks of coming at him constantly. Amekaze had to wonder how Vela would stack up against him, and if he would focus long enough to do anything except throw his teeth around.

He didn't sit still, and only barely listened when Vela answered about patrols and whatever else. Far more intent on squirming around, when things started to focus more on the motion of it all, he was ready there with snapping teeth. But his equal-size sister was not his typical sort of foe.

When she bit down at him, he tried to counter what he could with his own snapping teeth to block her way--if he could reach! Then, sensing that it was getting more appropriate to dial it up a notch now that his sister's intentions were to be a warrior too, he moved to pull himself out from beneath her and roll back up onto his paws so they could really get started. He growled and whipped around to face her head on, with a few more clicks of his teeth before he put distance between them. She was really not who he was used to fighting against; this would need a minute...

He took a breath and was much readier now. Jarilo stamped his paws and wiggled his rump, inviting her forward so she could set the pace--before he would do it on his own: ladies first, or whatever it was. "Show meee moooore!" he taunted annoyingly as he bared his teeth back at her with his ugliest face on

Vela just nodded at her mother. She would like to patrol with her mother and learn from her as well. Vela was quite driven to become a good warrior. She wanted to be just like her older sister. And perhaps because Drogon liked it as well when she did some fighting. She could use the fighting as more of an excuse to hang out with Drogon.

While her thoughts roamed Jarilo got away from underneath her. Vela took the stance she learned. Protecting her neck by tipping down her muzzle. She wanted to see if she could barrel into him. When he taunted her, Vela charged forward. She would try the move she learned from Drogon. She would try and barrel her left shoulder against his right leg to get him off balance and topple over. She might not be the biggest but she would try and put all her force behind it. No sweet Vela for him, she had decided.

In his training so far, he had learned that a close eye on the opponent revealed far more if you knew how to look. He was still learning. He tried to watch her paws, and therefore her legs, but also looked to see where she was looking.. all at the same time. The plan was to be able to tell where she was going to go next. Of course, there was room for improvement here like all things, but he made for an earnest attempt anyway.

When she charged, he evaded..mostly? She had come faster than he anticipated, which tripped him up already, and in trying to whirl his entire self out of reach, his long legs didn't get the entire message fast enough--so the transition was awkward at best, sending his hip bumping roughly into her shoulder--so he thought, maybe, as he was busy getting the stumble under control before she could knock him over any worse. Which, with her momentum and him falling all over himself, it was enough. He tripped and had to lose time and force getting himself back up, so his meager defense in the midst of everything was the only thing to rely on.

As soon as he could he untangled, sprawled out his feet, and remembered distinctly: balance was very important.

i'm skipping ame for a bit ;D

Lol perfectly fine!

Vela realized that her shoulder didn't make the full contact she expected it to make. Jarilo moved out of the way but were a bit more unbalanced. Vela remembered that she could always bite one of his legs. She glanced at him for a moment, leaving her guard down. Not that she knew so much about keeping up her guard. Vela seemed surprised when a hip swung her way. She let out a grunt when the hip made contact with her shoulder.

The female wasn't going to waste any time. She tried to nip at his butt now his hip and backside were so much closer to the sharp teeth in her mouth. However, the girl didn't know what Jarilo was planning so it could be that her bite would just be all air. Vela only knew to attack so even though her bite might be a hit or a miss she was quick to move to her next move and try to jump on top of him to wrestle her brother down to the ground. Not that she had any clue what she was doing.

He had grown a bit taller lately and evidently, this had noticeable effect on his grace when it came to maneuvers like these. It wasn't to say he had ever been really smooth on his feet at all times, but this was feeling pretty sloppy to him. Vela didn't give him time or opportunity to be sour about this. He tried to right himself almost as immediately as he could, then prepare his retaliation somewhere in the midst of defending himself. A lot, all at once, the boy snarled and tucked his butt out of reach as he moved the rest of himself to dodge any further onslaughts on it. He wasn't particularly in the mood for teeth on his buns today.

But, in skirting out of the way of that one, he didn't avoid the second--the pounce. She sprang to knock him down and successfully did before he knew it, but on the fall, he decided to try to use this in his favor. As soon as his back hit the ground with a little more force this time, he tried again to drag her down too with his legs trying to tangle and to catch and drag with any momentum from the falling. He didn't let the wind knocking out of him deter him as much as he was able, but if he was going to be down, he had to try to wrestle her down here with him soon.

Vela let out a successful cry when she took down her brother. Especially after she had a mouthful of air before she took him down. But in the process, her momentum was not that great and she toppled down along with him in the wrestling match. The girl was now down with her brother. She was not sure what was better keep on attacking while they were both on the ground or see if she could get out of this and see if she could get back on her paws.

She decided that this was far too much fun so she tried to wrestle him back. She also really wanted to bite him, gently, but his legs were longer than hers so she had a tough time reaching him. Perhaps getting back on her feet had been a smarter move. She tried to shift back and away from her brother so she had room to get to her feet. If she managed to get to her feet she would instantly dive on top of him again. With zero tactics.

He tasted a small lick of success and did get her toppled down to his freshly-fallen level. While he could, he would make that as messy as he was able, slipping in a few nips and there and just generally trying to contribute to his best impression of a big tangled disaster when she tried to wrestle him back. Eventually, she got out of his reach and to her feet. Since it was like that, and it left him relatively free, he sprang up but this time charged at her when she tried to dive back onto him.

Jarilo yipped and did his best to counter her, trying really hard to mirror his sister's moves while still sneaking in a few twists of his own with whole lot of growling and yapping. His efforts were awkward and clumsy at best, but learning. When in doubt and needing some sort of distraction, he tried to rally her into jaw sparring instead of smothering or knocking him around anymore. He knew that tiring her out was a good way to gain any advantage he could, too!

They tumbled, pounced, bit and kept each other in motion. Amekaze watched their juvenile attempts in thoughtful silence for a good while, letting unflinching even when it may have seemed a little rough, or when Jarilo was loud (why was he so loud and when would he grow out of it??). She was proud of them for having very little guidance on the matter, and for Vela for it to be an early attempt at anything. The alpha did not doubt that either of them lacked the tenacity to be a good fighter. She just had to help them hone and refine this properly. Watching them spar and think through the issues would only be good for her, and them as well.

"Alright, alright," she eventually whuffed as she rose to her feet, having seen enough of this for right now. When she had their attention: "Can keep it short and fierce today. It is good to spar with many others.. and to work on offense and defense both against different opponents of all experience, shapes, and sizes," she imparted as a piece of knowledge to keep for next time. If the world was going to be cruel and take her little ones from her so soon, then she was going to have to make sure the two left were prepared for anything they could be. Thankfully, so far, the two seemed receptive to this idea when pitted against two relatively equaling forces. Now, just to help grow that.

"How about finding something fresh to eat, hm?" she asked, beginning to wave her tail. She was kind of hungry, and didn't think growing pups like them would want to miss a meal after a little ruckus like that.

Vela glanced up from her wrestle with Jarilo when her mother called out. She almost didn't want to because she was suspicious that he would attack her. But when the attack didn't come she scrambled to her own feet and sat down. She listened intently to her mother. She nodded when her mother advised her to fight many people. She smiled at the suggestion of food. "Yes! I am hungry," she admitted. She needed to remember that her mama would also be good at teaching her fighting skills.

For a beat, it seemed as if he may be starting to hit some kind of stride here, but not long after--Mama called it quits for and all of the momentum he was working with dissipated soon after. At her cue, he stopped, of course, which sent everything winding down as she redirected their interests towards the prospect of food. "I could eat," he said, trying not to sounds too overeager about it.. even if he was kind of hungry after that; he just hadn't taken the time to think about it yet.

Offering no objections, he shook out his coat to help settle some flyaways, regrouped, and would follow the lead from there.

As soon as she had agreement from the both of them, she was halfway through a pivot and off without another word. Over her shoulder she chuffed something that did not quite make out the words, but her sentiment was clear to the last two of her second lot: c'mon.

She knew a cache or two worth looking into. If that was a bust, she also knew a speckled Ostrega with a good nose who could certainly help her sniff out something. She had no doubts that they would eat, and soon gained speed off down the trail she had chosen with the pair of juveniles following after.
