Big Salmon Lake valleys formed where the wolf had lain

Skwol's powerful and effortless gallop slowed to a trot as he lost sight of the hawks, and then he eased himself into a stop beside his companion. His tail drifted idly at his hocks. The dark female spoke, and initially he only turned one plush ear toward her to listen as he gazed over the treeline for a moment longer, before his muzzle followed suit and he greeted her with a small smile.

"Not at all," he said, welcoming the invite with a wag of his tail. The ermine might have been sport but he would not turn down the chance at meat now. He could use it. So far, luck had been with him and the winter season had been kind. But he knew how quick that could change. "I'm Skwol," he introduced himself as he shifted himself to face her.

"Lead the way."
