All Welcome
The lone wolf Birk encountered meandering too close to the pack borders hadn't been a talkative chap. Neither had he been inclined to respond, when pressed for answers, nor submit, when the situation had begun to escalate. He hadn't had the good sense to flee, when such chance had been given, and therefore the mercenary, who already was annoyed by the vagabond's presence, decided to end it's life.

The wolf had been weak, emaciated and sickly, maybe not right in it's mind either. It had taken Birk two leaps to catch up with the fellow, one move to trample him down and a well-aimed bite to kill it. Warm blood seeped from the bite wounds, coloring the white snow crimson, while the northerner was standing over the dead wolf with dark and cold look in his eyes.

If at any point in his current life Birk had thought that he had walked away from, who he had been, who he was now, then this was the proof that the beast still lived within him, patiently waiting for the right moment to act.
