Time seems to have flattened out for him. At first he found the lack of an immediate task somewhat disconcerting, but quickly enough he's able to fall back into his leisurely routine. He is a beast built for laying about, occasionally adding to the cache, and apparently, providing genetic material on occasion.
(Let's not dwell on that particular memory.)
Étoille has never been around young children. Spring seems eternally far away but he finds himself looking forward to seeing puppies about. Oddly enough being around the pups of Blackfeather had awoken some bizarre urge in him, similiar to the protectiveness he feels towards Furi. Paternal instinct, perhaps, although fatherhood -- being an active participant in fatherhood rather than just a donor -- is still a far off notion to him. Still, he finds himself thinking about it as he makes his way leisurely through Hougeda, toward the beach, where he has yet to explore.
