All Welcome
aw but she is here for leadership <3

mona hadn't yet been to visit their neighbors, the ones who had sent screech. she'd oft peered in the direction of the mountain, half-tempted to approach but unsure if she should leave the packland, given her propensity for wandering. and they'd only just moved — the little mayfair had given herself over to patrolling and marking the borders of the beautiful vale they now called home.
today, however, the nuro set off at a smooth clip beneath the brumous wintertime skies, their cold surprising her with how long it had lasted. it was spring, after all. mona arrived at the borders of sunspire and shook a light dusting of snow from her coat, searching earnestly around the rich terrain for any watchful eyes before tilting back her crown and announcing herself with a purling howl.
it was only then that mona antha mayfair realized she hadn't the foggiest idea of what to say if she was asked why she'd come, and winced in a sudden spate of nerves.

But a paranoid interceptor must arrive first!

The howl that cut through the air was from a direction that Treason wasn't expecting.  Of course, it wasn't from a wolf she recognized, but she had figured strangers would approach from the broader plains instead.  She'd just passed that section of the borders not too long ago so now she headed back in that direction to investigate, as was her duty.  There would be no third trespasser on her watch, so at the very least she'd show up and guard the door.

It didn't take long before the waiting wolf popped into view.  Treason came forward, stopping steadfast on the pack's side of the scent line to eye the wolf up and down.  She was a far different sort than Treason, just at a glance, and as such she suspected there wouldn't be much trouble from this one unless her actions contradicted her build.  It was always possible, but eh, whatever.

Treason had been about to speak when she recognized the scent of their neighboring pack and her firm gaze turned sharper.  If any of the leaders had spoken to Tindome, Treason hadn't heard about it.  In fact, she'd only heard (and later, investigated the scents) vaguely of the conflict that had been caused, so she guessed that's why one of them had shown up.  Not that the player has any clue what's gonna happen in that thread at all since it's not done, huzzah.  Either way, that was the only logical reason, right?  Couldn't be a single wolf's curiosity or anything of that sort.  Are you here about the trespassing boys?  The last word wasn't without venom.  Though they likely were still ranked as pups, they were old enough to not be stupid.

thanks for joining! <3

it was not long before mona was approached by who she assumed to be a leader of sunspire; she put on her best smile and lowered her stance in deference. the ash and black that pelted the woman reminded her shyly of nathaniel, but the striking eyes in the stern face haunted the mayfair with their intensity.
and the question put to her was not one the fire-girl could have ever anticipated. she gawked in a most uncharitable manner at the woman, ears trembling upon the hiss that the sunspire wolf had thrown upon the word boys. what boys? regretting very much her impulsive decision to come, mona blinked. "what?" and it was quite clear she was either stupid, or woefully unware of the goings-on among tindome's youth.

No prob! Though sorry for my delay.  Been a garbage couple weeks, trying to get back on track!

Apparently that news had caught her completely off guard.  So no, then?  Hm.  Someone will likely be by eventually then.  A pause.  So why are you here?  At least she wasn't crossing the borders like her packmates.  But these recent events had made her cautious.  And why wouldn't they?  Treason was probably worse about it than most.  And would turn out to be a good deal more aggressive if someone erred.  But what other thing had this wolf come by about?  Treason had not a clue.  Had something else happened?

no worries <3 this is late too!

feeling the sting of her own ignorance, mona swallowed hard and attempted a wan expression, more for the sake of her brusque interrogator than herself. "well. i met someone who said he was from here. and we're neighbors, and i'd never come by." with each passing word, mona realized how very foolish she sounded — for the second time. "i-i was just curious," the crimson girl mumbled finally, by way of dubious explanation.

Treason was rather confused, canting her head though her expression barely changed, Who then?  Do you want them called specifically?  So, uh.  What then?  The fact that this was seemingly done on a whim was bizarre to Treason.  She barely breathed without a plan.  What was she supposed to do at the borders when the one there didn't seem to know what to do either?  Have a standoff?  A moment of awkwardness, and she spoke again after finally deciding to simply ask than spend forever trying to figure it out, Or what?  She was a fighter, not some amazing social butterfly!

each time the woman spoke, her sharp voice cut deeper into mona's barely holding resolution. and the mayfair did not wish to assume the other meant such — she swallowed and attempted to answer the sunspire wolfess' questions. "he said his name was screech, but did not tell me much about this place. and no — it seems wolves of tindome have bothered you enough."
mona, having decided this was a brilliant segue, paused to let her interrogator respond.

At the very least, unlike the youths and the wolf she spoke of, this neighbor seemed to be reasonable, even if Treason's own attitude was rather off-putting.  She didn't see anything wrong with how she acted, but then again she was also relatively blind to what those more "normal" sorts might think of her.  Screech, though, she knew that dude.  Kinda.  Ah.  You might want to be careful of some of the people that guy keeps as friends.  He didn't stay here long; some ally of his named Redshank charged over the borders and started threatening to kill one of our alphas for whatever reason.  That guy was clearly deranged, but I believe Screech trusted him more than us, and thus he was no longer in the pack, she implied.  No idea where you'll find him now.  At the very least, he hadn't returned, and Treason was ok with that.  Those who stayed well outside the territory were no longer her concern.

gonna have mona exit here; she'd be too awks to stay <3 also sorry for the wait geez

as the woman spoke, mona felt herself shrinking against the borders. what a fine, stupid girl she was, the firebird decided. having no idea about the goings-on of her own pack, and blindly leading a veritable monster right through the vale. swallowing, she nodded at the firm tone of the other, dreading that she must respond and not simply run away in her shame.
"i think i've bothered you long enough," the girl decided, scarlet ears folding backward. a step, a glance toward the sunspire sentinel, and the nuro turned to carry herself down the stone trail, hackles burning until she was sure she was beyond eyeshot.

Her first response was just the thoughtful tilt of an ear.  Curious.  Better things to do, she guessed.  O-kay.  Bye.  Treason had delivered facts and that was about it.  Maybe that dude had just made one really awful friend, or maybe the Tindome chick had just been tricked into thinking Screech was an ok guy.  Treason didn't know or particularly care as long as she didn't have to deal with them again.  Once Treason was sure that there wasn't going to be a random loop back to invade the territory, she also continued on her way.
