Backdated to the early evening of April 18, 2018. Goodbye for now, Morningside! ♥ Tagging for reference, but also, if you want to come and say goodbye after the thread is All Welcome Seelie and I would be so happy. ^^

Coelacanth is in the first phase of her heat and is NOT considered fertile. “During proestrus, the start of the estrous cycle, the bitch attracts male dogs, but is still not receptive to breeding.” This phase will last through April 20, 2018.

April 16 — 18, 2018: Morningside

The day was full of farewells, but Coelacanth was ready for them. She had demons to face and responsibilities to fulfill, and she had from the twenty-fourth to the thirtieth to sex to be come pregnart, according to the WOLF Guidebook and Undersea’s breeding guidelines. Talking with Catori had helped her to understand and prepare for the former and being around the @Spiritwalker’s children had spurred the desire for the latter. She was replete with the warm security of family. Reuniting with @Grayday, @Sunny, and @Dawn had been everything she’d imagined it to be, and @Lavender was as sweet and gentle as she’d remembered. She missed the rambunctious, mottled girl she’d seen at the Hunter’s Moon, but asked that Catori give her best to Easy — and @Dauntless.

She hoped that @Aditya and Dawn would enjoy their time along the coast and wondered if they’d come to Undersea — and if they did, she wondered how the resident males would react. Now she knew, of course, why Komodo had acted as protectively — and possessively! — as he had. She still wasn’t sure if that was enough to squelch her lingering uncertainty, but she was going to give everything she had to make it work out harmoniously. Feeling rested and content after a meal and a nap, she made her way to Graydad and Mamatori’s den, whuffing out of courtesy and remaining a respectful distance away from the entrance. “I go,” she whispered, and if nobody was awake, that was fine; she was sounding out the words, anyway. “Home, Undersea, Stockholm. I go.”

Grayday was roused by the sound of their cousin's voice. Blearlily, he raised his great head and swung it this way and that, trying to see what was the matter - and then remembering that he couldn't see at all. That helped some of the disorientation to dissipate, and he finally gave his wife and kiss and emerged from the narrow opening. "Let me go with you," he said to the both of them, giving them both a chance to protest. "I don't like to think of you on your own like this."

Although she knew the day would come, she longed for it to be later. Thoughts of Seelie leaving her plagued her even in her sleep; it was like a great chasm would open and swallow her cousin-sister up. She was no fool and knew that scent, she'd bore it only months ago herself. Seelie would be bound as she was now and even all her love for her children wasn't enough to soothe the aching would of separation. When Grayday offered to go there was a second worry. She whined softly, leaning up to press her cheek against his before kissing him gently. "Take someone else, too?" She wouldn't command him off course but she wanted to ensure he had no further troubles to come home to her and to their family.

She rose gently so as to not rouse the babies and slipped past Grayday, hiding her tears in her embrace with Coelacanth. "Stockholm will take care of you. He will keep you - and the Raven will watch you and yours."  She whispered into the tufted ear of Seelie. She wound against her, tactile as ever, affection laced into each movement. "I will bring the babies to see their cousins - and if you need anything, I'll be right there. You just send word. I promise." Worried for Seelie, for the thought of being apart for so long (not like they hadn't been separated for so much longer but it didn't feel that way), worry for her family, her still fresh hormones - everything made it all so much more daunting. " I love you, Sea Sprite."
i grew a human and unfortunately as a horrible side effect lost an organ - as such will be slow from time to time.

Normally Coelacanth wasn’t the type to protest when an older wolf — especially a male — especially especially one as deeply respected as Grayday! — made a suggestion like that. It was the profound shame engendered by her perceived failures with Komodo and Aditya that urged her to demur: “N-No,” she whispered softly, shaking her head as fear briefly illuminated her Neptune gaze like lightning over the sea. A rictus of nervousness caused her delicate features to tauten as she gathered her courage, and it intensified as she watched her cousin come to terms with her mate’s imminent departure. “No, Grrrayday,” she begged him gently. “Stay, guppies, Catori.”

Coelacanth welcomed her cousin’s embrace, tears springing to her cerulean eyes and wetting her velveteen cheeks. “Oh,” she wavered timorously. Her heart was so full of love and longing that she found it difficult to breathe; she was a creature made to love and be loved with her whole heart, and finding that two of her closest friendships were rift-riddled because of her love language had shaken her self confidence greatly. She had to believe things would be okay — but she was also a creature with a staggering propensity for guilt, and she could find little fault in Komodo and Aditya.

The blame, she knew — and no wolf would ever be able to convince her otherwise, not even her beloved Stockholm — was hers. She was a Bad Dog, and she did not deserve good things.

A hiccupping sob wrenched from her lips, but she trapped her quivering breath between tightly clenched teeth, and stayed that way until the uneven fluttering of her rib cage quieted.

“I love you, Catori; I love you, Grayday,” she whispered when she could. “Raven watch, peace be. Will b-be safe.” She took a small step backward, believing she would not be waylaid…

…but she was waylaid, and in the sweetest of ways. Lavender arrived just in time to hear her father insist that he would escort Seelie back to Undersea himself. The mottled girl, having never seen Wheeling Gull Isle — except from the opposite shore! — begged to be included on what seemed to her like a grand adventure. With reassurances to Catori, the trio set out at a pace steady enough for Grayday’s failing sight, following a course pretty enough for Lavender’s wide eyes.
