Little cameo.
Still both blind and deaf, the shenanigans taking place around the little chicken went entirely unnoticed. He could feel something happening—his siblings were close enough that the soft thumps of their bodies caused a disturbance!—but didn’t try to investigate. In fact, he did the opposite as he started to wriggle and army crawl away, nose twitching as he sought out the Milk-Giver and his fifth lunch of the day (so far).
