All Welcome
aw!! Also very vague, Wraen can have escorted her or just told her where to go

Maia passed a rough night after Wraen found her, the fever reaching its peak as the storm blew overhead.  Luckily thanks to her sister she remained warm and dry, and by morning, the fever had broken.  Her young body was hale enough to fight it off.

She didn't remember much of the previous couple weeks and didn't realize how fortunate she was to be alive.  The fever had burned through her already thin reserves and she looked fairly gaunt.  Wraen had helped her out, though, and for the first time in weeks she felt like herself.  She'd waited a few days to ensure she was good, but it was time to see what this Sunspire was all about.  She was nervous, oh boy.

@Wraen had said it was fine, but she was still a little tentative on meeting @Rannoch and @Liffey.  The one she was really stoked and afraid for though? @Terance.  The brother she barely remembered, and who surely didn't remember her.  What if he hated her? What if she hated him? What if he decided she was too lame for having just followed them that he didn't want her in the pack and she had to go out all alone again and.....

Her teenage mind was on hyperdrive as she stepped within the mountain's claim, knowing that at least they knew she was coming.  Still, she hesitated... better to be sure before simply charging in.  She was learning.

wraen had taken a quick moment to let him know maia was in the pack-- but terance had been so busy with seabreeze and patrolling etc. etc. excuse excuse that he hadn't been able to take time to find her. it wasn't that he didn't want to it was just... well he didn't know how just yet. with wraen so drastically disappointed in him how could he possibly see another sibling? maia would probably think he sucked too.

lately, terance was convinced everyone thought he sucked. he'd considered on multiple occasions just stepping down. but what would that prove? everyone right? liffey definitely hated him-- he was fully convinced. had she done anything to outwardly express that? no, of course not, but terance still felt it. wraen was entirely disappointed in him. there was absolutely no denying that. terance wasn't even fully convinced that seabreeze liked him all that much. he couldn't explain why he felt like that, he just did. as excited as he was to be a father-- terance regretted ever getting even the tiniest bit wrapped up in those horemones. why couldn't he be more like dante? dante probably had way more self control.

wow. mom and dad would be so disappointed. the thought of them knowing how horribly he had fucked up and how bad of a beta he was just drained every ounce of optimism from his body.

wraen was right.

but through his moping, he was trying to find maia. they were family, after all, and even though he was the worst beta the world had ever seen-- terance knew he had to greet all his wolves. get acquainted, yada yada yada.

he spotted her a little ways off, and tried to perk up. his posture stood tall but his tail was waving and his broad smile was swept across his features. "maia!" he barked to her, beginning to trot over to her. no limp today, thankfully, he must've slept well last night.

SORRY THIS IS SUCH WORD VOMIT

I LOVE WORD VOMIT

Maia loitered for a bit, somewhat awkward, debating on calling.  Was that rude? Would they rather her just come find them? She felt like that was rude, but so was simply barging in, and oh man what was even.... ugh.  Her self-conscious side didn't come out all that often but when it did, it came with a vengeance, and she was so not enjoying it right now.  Forget it, she was gonna find them.

She was just rising to start looking when she heard someone call her name, and her ears and head both twisted to see who the heck it was.  Wait a hot second, was that.... omg.  She didn't recognize him herself, per say, but Wraen had told her a thing or two in the couple days while she waited to come, and she knew who this was now.  "Terance?!" She asked, and her own tail went to town too as she grinned back.  Because he didn't seem at all unhappy to see her, and that meant he didn't think she was awful for coming here.  So because it seemed like the thing to do, she began to run forward, ready to give him a rather enthusiastic hug if he didn't stop her beforehand!  (However that may work because wolves man idk).

she was kind of built like him, which was fun because terance was used to the feminine frame of wraen and sarah-- which was very unlike his own. maia was a little clunky, truthfully, but terance couldn't confidently say he didn't look like that when he was her age.

when he was her age-- jesus christ, how old did he think he was?

"you're so grown!!" he said, still apparently keeping with the mindset that he was some old bat, and accepted her embrace willingly. terance was built like a boulder and scarred to the nines but he was sweet and soft and filled with love. and he could really use a hug today. he pressed his chin over her shoulder, draping a paw over her before retreating slowly to better look at her. "how was the journey? did you come alone?" he asked her, settling onto his haunches.

"Duh," she responded, though she did so with a laugh.  "It's been five-ever!!"  She was the adultiest if adults now! Cept for the boring bits of course.  They could keep those.

She leaned into the hug, then let him step back and get a look at her. She shifted a bit self-consciously at that... gadding about on her own meant she'd looked way better obvi.  But heck if she wasn't happy to be done with it!

"I did, and it was awful.  I mean... no sweat, of course.  Because I'm awesome.  But still.. Her tail waved enthusiastically.  "I'm stoked to be around normal people again."  She had a scar or two of her own now from overly-enthusiastic encounters with borders, and a lot of the wolves she'd met had had a hard time dealing with her.  But this place seemed awesome!

Which reminded her.... "Wraen said your gonna be a dad!? That's cool!  Dunno why you'd want to be, but if you do, congrats!  That was an acceptable way to talk to your brother after years, right? Definitely.

had osprey and dante really given birth to a wolf with this much spunk? sarah had enough, maybe, and wraen was certainly extroverted-- but maia seemed like a different breed. it was refreshing, actually, and terance was very happy to see her again all grown up. he was very glad she was here. he chuckled at her commentary, his tail wagging. "you've gotta tell me about your journey," he said with a prick of his ears, "i bet it's a great story." he wondered if maia too had a knack for storytelling-- as per osprey.

but then, oh. he hesitated, was she really excited? truthfully, he doubted she fully understood. but he held his smile, accepting her congratulations anyway. "i am, and i'm very excited... thank you, maia," he said, leaning forwards to nudge her cheek-- that was acceptable, right? and then, smile morphing into a smirk, he added, "that'll make you and aunt, you know."

Dante and Osprey had, and they'd wondered between themselves on many occasion.  Maia was a hugely friendly being most of the time (until she decided she wasn't) but not the sharpest needle on the tree, so to speak.  She suffered fairly wildly from the rest of their apt, somewhat more mellow brood, and it was this reason she knew that her dad had protested her going so heavily.  Well, she proved him wrong!

"It is!!" She said, scrambling to think of ways she could embellish it to make it sound a ton cooler than it had been.  Because it had not been cool.  At all.

"I met a bunch of packs looking for you guys, and some weren't so happy about me being there.  But I fought them off," she said with a puff of pride.  Ok so she ran.  But there'd been small scuffles, and she'd definitely come out with a scar or two.  "I went by Redbird place and there was this super rude boy there, who didn't know nothing, so I left.  And then I went by Moonspear, and met this really awesome lady."  A few stars in her eyes at the mention of Amekaze.... potentially a little crush there.  In that 'you are too cool to possibly exist' fashion.

"Then I came here!"  She didn't mention the weeks of fever... she barely remembered those anyway, and they hardly shone a light on her.

"I can't believe you're gonna be a dad.  That's so cool."  She repeated herself, shaking her head.  "I'm gonna be the coolest aunt ever, you know it!"  No matter that she had never even seen a pup in her life, let alone dealt with one.  They were easy right? Else why the heck would anyone bother with them?

ah i suck so much, going to archive this. i'd love a newer thread, if you have time <3

"the caldera," terance said to her, in case she might remember the information(though he doubted she would, if we're being honest). he was a bit alarmed to hear that she enjoyed moonspear, and that moonspear hadn't killed her... but... he supposed as long as she was safe and okay, he didn't care-- he wouldn't linger on it, though he desperately wondered if it'd been hydra that maia had met. but he didn't ask.

"yes ma'am!" terance replied with a bright smile, "you'll be an amazing aunt, you'll have to come by and visit us once they're born." he hoped she would, maybe he and maia would have a much less strained relationship than he and wraen had developed.

and so the two continued to talk and catch up, something terance greatly appreciated-- even though he was originally very nervous to meet his little sister. he decided he quite liked maia, and desperately hoped that they would continue to grow closer.
