@Raven come hither

Fin had kept to herself mostly since "the incident". Well, if keeping to yourself meant sticking close to your youngest sons, your mate, and your elder offspring who were most often included in the babysitter rotation. It wasn't necessarily that she was avoiding the newly dubbed alphas (which, could you really call them "newly dubbed" after a month?), but more that their paths had simply, and conveniently, not crossed. Fin had inwardly made her peace, which is to say that she thought she had made her peace, but it had not yet been outwardly addressed. In true Blackthorn fashion, she assumed that it would all just resolve itself. I'm still not entirely that would be the case.

Finley had yet to determine a decent rendezvous site for her kids, so for the moment, they remained in the den she and Elwood had chosen upon arriving at the Plateau. So, once again, the former alpha/beta set forth to attempt to hunt down a suitable location. She headed North that day, towards the woods that lined their borders. It seemed already to be far less swampy, though not quite what she wanted it to be. She longed for the wide, open space of the rendezvous site they'd had at the Caldera, so she had little hope that she'd find it somewhere North where the wetlands met the woods. But, why not give it a shot? She'd had no luck finding it anywhere else thus far, so...

As her pregnancy progressed, the effects of it were beginning to wear on Raven a little bit. She was finding it increasingly difficult to sleep comfortably at night, and she awoke each morning headachy and sick to her stomach. She had medicinal remedies for the latter two issues, but she refrained from taking anything for fear of potential risks to her unborn pups. Her appetite was insatiable, and while @Quixote did his best to keep her well-fed with fresh kills, she nevertheless still felt hungry all the time. She was crampy and bloated a lot, her boobs were sore, and she tired out much more quickly than she normally did, all of which was supremely inconvenient in just about every way.

Despite all of that, though, she already loved her children and couldn't wait to meet them. Being a mother was something she had wanted for a very long time, and now that it was happening, she could hardly believe how happy it made her. (...when she wasn't puking her guts up at 4:00 in the morning or nearly suffocating herself with her own farts, that is. Ah, pregnancy.)

She smiled at the sensation of her babies fluttering and moving around as she picked her way through the woods, searching for yarrow plants to replenish the stock she'd used on Ceara, Rosalyn, and Towhee. The small clusters of white flowers were plentiful around their new territory, and she'd found that it grew thickest in the openly-wooded areas at the plateau's base. It was here that the healer, stepping around the trunk of a particularly fat tree, found herself looking at Finley Blackthorn.

"Oh!" The soft exclamation was one of surprise and, truthfully, a bit of dismay. A tidal wave of mixed emotions assaulted her as she stared at her aunt. First, there was joy and elation at the sight of the matronly she-wolf whom she'd adored since her birth. Then there was sadness as the weeks-old hurt resurfaced again, followed by bitterness at how she'd simply been brushed aside and blown off because she wasn't the CHOSEN ONE™ like Towhee apparently was. The non-confrontational pacifist in her wanted very much to just turn around and leave, but she was an alpha and, soon, would be a parent again, and she couldn't always just run from her problems. So she remained where she stood, ears turned partially rearward and face uncertain, and offered a quietly awkward greeting. "Uh, er...hey, Aunt Flea."
