He silently supported the pale wolf as they make their way down the loose pile of rocks; his eyes tracked her every move to make sure she didn't fall. 

Relief washed over him once they were back on the ground and she was no longer in danger of getting hurt. She thanked him, which he thought unnecessary, and rested her head on him. He reveled in the contact and took the opportunity to nuzzle the top of Liri's head affectionately. 

He wondered if her leg was bothering her, which brought back his earlier concerns. He felt like he could no longer hold back his question. "Why is your leg injured?" he asked with worry in his voice. He hoped his question didn't make her uncomfortable, and continued continued to nuzzle her in case it had.
