Grezig did not care about rain, especially not in the summer. She cared about food more than anything right now, and the smell of foxes, while disgusting, was at least a sign of something to hunt. She found a scent trail quickly and followed it to a fox’s den. This could get tricky and the mother fox was protecting kits, but she hadn’t moved them far enough back into the den, and so she was stuck in the opening, trying to defend herself from the wolf head that shoved its way inside.

Grezig crunched down onto the bones of the mother fox, having silenced and eaten its kits already. Some would find this cruel. Grezig thought it would have been a much crueler fate to kill the mother and leave the kits to starve. At least with this relatively large meal, she would not starve. Perhaps she would stay in this forest for a time, with its overabundance of foxes. She could deal with the smell if a meal was this easy to come by.

she had not returned to the grove since she had last, and did not dare think about the reasons why. did not dare give it though, and so she moved south, to the edge of the valley, in the hopes that movement would leave behind the burrs that clung resolutely to the back of her mind.

it did not work, not entirely, yet she was distracted soon enough by the crunching of bones; here, perhaps, was another predator she could chase off. she did not like the thought of doing so, but with Pema den-bound and Aviana close behind, their stores grew lower each day.

it was the scent and sight of wolf that greeted her, however, when she rounded a thicket. disappointment, at first, and then a quick scan to ensure the meal was small and not worth any type of fight. a chuff, then, a wag of her tail.

she was not yet desperate enough.

Short post.

Grezig could not smell the wolf coming for the blood covering her face. All she smelled was blood and fox-scent. She did not appreciate being startled (though it was not really the other wolf’s fault) and took up a growl immediately. Her ears pushed forward in aggression, but she did not stop eating. She tore into her food with greater gusto, as if to say This is mine, it is delicious, and you can’t have any. She had always been extremely territorial of food, even when it had been much easier to come by, and now that she was a loner, she was even more so.
Exiting. Feel free to hit me up for a new thread.

The other wolf did nothing, and soon, Grezig had finished her meal. Without another word, she got up and left.
