All Welcome
After his talk with Charon, some sort of energy built up in Gannet, threatening to boil over if it didn't get some form of release. So, unsure of what else to do... he ran. Ran until he couldn't anymore, and by the time he was finished, he'd hit the edge of a massive river.

Fear kept him this side as he stared at the water, and his ears flattened as he dropped to lay down, panting heavily. As he looked at the river he couldn't bring himself to cross, he had a sobering thought, one that had been lurking for a while. Maybe he was the problem after all.

It made sense. The Redhawks didn't want him. Liffey and Rannoch didn't want him. Moonspear wanted him, but not completely. Not really. Ever since his parents died, and his brothers disappeared, he couldn't think of a single spot that had wanted him. Why?

This was a new moroseness that was almost worse than the one he'd passed through when his leg was broken, because this had no foreseeable solution. Break his word and leave the mountain behind, or stay and eternally try to earn something he would likely never achieve?

No answer was forthcoming from the river, but he continued to watch it anyway, captivated and terrified in equal measure by the flowing breadth.

Kalganov was like a vulture to misery. Granted he had no real way of knowing this. Maybe he was just drawn to negative energy or something like that.

The pale form on the river pulled his interest. It looked like they were breathing real heavy while slumped on the ground. The first thought to cross his mind was that maybe they were dying. A sneer crossed his features to think he could be the last face this stranger saw. Such a pity it wasn't a face of comfort.

Well, are you going to get in or just watch it? He questioned with a raised brow, nose motioning at the water. Kalganov could give a little push if it was needed. While he remained a few feet away from the pale stranger, it was obvious the young male wasn't going anywhere just yet.

Gannet growled when the stranger said what they did, hunching defensively but turning to face them so that he could see. "No," he said emphatically, and the fear that the suggestion of being pushed in was clearly written on his face.

The growl died in his lips soon enough, but he continued to stare warily. There was no way he was gettin shoved in if he could help it.

The growl was like music to his ears. It was obvious Kalganov had hit some sort of cord with the stranger. A chuckle escaped him, exposing his still boyish tones. Cool it. He cooed, if the creature still had some fight left in them then Kalganov wasn't going to bother pushing them in. As a loner, he had no one to care for him and any injuries could become lethal rather quickly. The last thing he had planned to do was die. It wasn't time. Not yet at least.

What are you doing here if not going for a dip?

Gannet was unimpressed with the stranger's order to cool it.... he wasn't much of a joker to start, and that particular one had hardly been funny. He remained on edge, but stayed down, still tired from his wild run from the mountain to here. He hadn't stopped much in the progression.

"Resting," he said, a word that to his chagrin became a yawn in the middle of his suspicious glare. When he finished, it was likely he looked slightly less miffed. "Will you swim?" He wasn't sure if he meant it as a challenge, but for some reason, Gannet didn't like the feeling of admitting he was afraid here.

The answer wasn't interesting but the question was. A chuckle tumbled out of Kalganov. Oh no. The young male said with a soft shake of his head. I don't really do the whole swimming thing. He most certainly could do it but that didn't mean he wanted to. But I know others do so who am I to hold them back? His shoulders offered a gentle shrug as he glanced around.

There have to be better places to rest. Why here? Not that it was any of his business or really affected him.

"Why not here?" He asked back, and realizing that he'd made a joke of sorts, his lips tilted a bit. But the smile didn't last long.... his mood wasn't up for it.

"I got tired." He shrugged, then stood, stretching to bring some life back into his limbs. He wasn't sure if he wanted to stay here or not, but his gaze went to the water again.

Then back to the stranger, suspicious. "Who're you?"
