Had Kavik not still been so angry with the male, he may have felt bad for him, but instead, he glared at Thorleif again while he stated, "What you're describing is a bear not a demon king of deer." His words were harsh, and he didn't care. He had identified the animal immediately from Thorleif's description as he had dealt with many of them in his homeland. 

Kavik didn't say anything else at that moment; he just turned to Liri once again to check her for injuries before nuzzling her and attempting to calm his anger a little.
