Fox's Glade your intentions will not save you, you get what you deserve

At first, she hadn’t really noticed the frequency of hunger. Being carried made it difficult to get her emotions across but they’re always set down every so often, taking a break to eat and get some proper sleep and sometimes they can even play. Playing doesn’t seem to be as frequent as the adults buzz over their heads with concerns and stress she certainly can’t understand but definitely feel. That, plus their last few meals are met unfulfilled.
 
When the white wolf that feeds them leaves, she looks around to the other puppies. Her eyesight is far from perfect so most of the time she can’t decipher them from one but on the other side of them is @Takiyok and briefly she wonders if she, too, has something for her to eat and that’s all she needs to scramble over @Sos, @Aningan, and @Tunerk to investigate.

Taki loved when it was her turn to watch the pups, so when Shivali asked if she would watch them for a little while so she could take a break, Taki gladly agreed. 

As soon as her sister had left, Currituck clumsily made her way over. The girl was an adopted family member, but Taki already viewed her as one of their own. The pup seemed to be on a mission, which was pretty adorable. Although, Taki thought pretty much everything the pups did was cute. She licked the brown pup's face as she came near, and watched her curiously, trying to figure out what the girl might need.

Whether or not the other puppies like her, Currituck never minds. Her focus is always the adult watching them, making sure she’s front and center (can someone tell her she’s not an only child anymore?). The girl leaves the other puppies behind and makes her way into Takiyok’s space. She plops back and yips a few times, bouncing with each one, and then buries herself down low to search for something not there. She noses as far as the woman will let her before her attention shifts from hunger to playful in a matter of seconds. Nothing ever gets her down.
 
Currituck leans back on two legs, batting at the woman’s nose with a mouthy attempt to take it between her teeth.

Taki panted excitedly as Currituck made her way into her space and let out a few little baby yips. Taki's eye's widened in surprise as the girl started rooting around for something to nurse from. She decided to let the pup figure out for herself that there was definitely no milk to be found there.

Currituck seemed unperturbed by the unsuccessful attempt at nursing and immediately switched to play mode. As the pup attempted to nip at her muzzle with her tiny teeth, Taki playfully mouthed the girl in return, letting out an equally playful growl. It was nice to be playing instead of worrying, and Taki very much appreciated the distraction.

At the rate she’s going, she’s going to wear herself out quickly. Each little movement distracts her from her previous task but the woman’s nose holds her attention the long. Softly, she paws alongside her face and uses her tiny, sharp teeth gnaws as much as the woman will allow. Her own growl is met the challenging one and she swivels back and forth, tail moving a million beats a minute. These days, it doesn’t matter who’s the one giving her attention, with three other puppies she’s thankful for what she gets without much complaint (not so easy to do).

Taki let Currituck bite her muzzle, occasionally moving a way a little and waiting for the pup to "catch" her. She would, then, turn to mouth girl again, hoping to rile her up more. She wasn't sure how long her niece would play with her, but she was content to do so for as long as she wanted. Once the pup was tired, Taki would gladly snuggle her protectively while she slept.

The best part about the bites is she gets the adult to growl back and wrap her mouth around her. She doesn’t know what it is but she likes it and giggles expel easily from her lips. Her eyes close and head rolls back while large, disproportionate feet flops around at the side of her face. When released, she starts all over again, latching on eagerly and repeating through the cycle. For the moment, she forgets about the lingering hunger and enjoys the excitement life unexpectedly brings.

They continued this way for a while; Taki mouthing the girl, and Currituck attacking her muzzle in response. She began to wonder if the pup would ever tire because she just kept coming back for more. Taki was having fun and could do this for a while, but she worried her niece would keep going even if she was tired; she seemed to be tenacious enough to do something like that. So, Taki decided to lie her head down on her paws the next time she got her muzzle away from Currituck to see if she would settle if given the chance.

For a while, she plays with the woman but eventually, somehow she got out of her grasp! Gasp! Legs scramble in the air as she plops over and watches her lay her head down. Brows knit together as she becomes still for a moment, looking away a beat later for anything to catch her attention. Temporarily she’s distracted, falling relatively still while lying in a messy puppy puddle on the ground. However, quickly, she rights herself and jumps into the thick pale fur of the woman, all teeth and claws as she takes in a mouthful of her.

Taki let out a laugh as Currituck lunged for her instead of taking the opportunity to rest. The pup took her fur in her moth, But Taki's coat was think and Currituck had little baby teeth, so it didn't cause her any discomfort. She sure did have a lot of energy. Don't you ever get tired? she asked affectionately. She didn't think her niece would really understand the words, but she still asked the question. How else was she supposed to learn how to talk?

The woman still plays and Currituck is thankful. All the pent up energy from the last few days comes out in bursts but eventually, she tires out. The vibration of words from the other cause her to giggle and she licks the underside of the pale wolf’s chin. With a smile on her face, she hits the ground and lays on her back, looking sideways at Takiyok and gently paws, breathing heavy as, finally! the last big of energy slips by.
