All Welcome
Hoping to disrupt the Kamiki wolves’ groove XD

Niamh didn’t often travel too far beyond the borders, but figuring as a leader that she ought to get out a bit more and get a better lay of the land, she left Colt’s side in the early hours of morning and ventured out a bit farther into the hinterlands than she normally would. All she was really trying to see was the different landscapes, and try to find some prey to track just to see what was in the area.

So she halted and bristled when she caught the scent of another wolf’s urine. Of course, wolves could technically urinate anywhere- but this was definitely the scent of a wolf marking. She meandered through the area, head down and tail curled over her back, making note of where the wolves had marked. There were a couple of them- but not nearly as many as there were in her pack. Selfishly, she wanted to return to the Caldera, grab a few henchmen and return just to chase these wolves away- not one part of her wanted to share their area. Foolishly, she wanted to start covering their markings with her own. But she knew that if she ended up being faced by all of the few wolves in this fledgeling pack, she’d have next to no chance to defend herself- so for now, she supposed it was best to be civil and meet the neighbours before she leapt to any brash actions.

She tilted her head back and howled, calling for one of these new neighbours to meet her- ao that she could properly assess the situation and report back to Raven and Quixote.

he’d just come back from scouting the nearby territory. he hadn’t been gone for very long. there had been too many cases of wolves coming near or in the woods for his liking. he would guard the borders all day if he could, but they needed more members so he went out to seek loners every once in awhile. and every time he did he just hoped no one would pull anything. well today wasn’t that kind of day.

a howl shot through the air from someone he didn’t know and it was coming from deep within the trees. this of course made his blood boil. there was a new person here everyday. issun picked up the pace and followed the sound to the caller. there stood a sand colored wolf, with their tail held high. was that guy he fought back for more? no, it was a woman this time. issun stepped into a pool of light with his head and tail held high. the corners of his lips twitched, ready to show a set of glistening teeth, but he kept them hidden. she was no loner, it would be foolish to attack her. “who are you?

putting Laska in here. Let me know if you don’t want her and I’ll gladly change this to a cameo post of her watching. :)

Laska heard the howl as she laid beside the lake and groomed her snowy fur. The call had peaked her interest and she dipped her ears slowly rising and stretching before heading that way cautiously. As she made her way through the trees and bushes she stopped a good distance away peeking through the bushes to see Issun had already arrived to greet the stranger who was on their territory.

Slowly she revealed herself from the bushes, walking over towards Issuns side. The pale new comer smelled of another pack, so she wasn’t looking for a place to live. Laska studied the wolf wondering why she would want to be here in a place where other wolves inhabited. The ghost lady sat back on her haunches and shot a friendly glance to her band leader.

Niamh pondered what Raven and Quixote might think once they found out about a new group of wolves settling in the hinterlands. It was summer, presently, so there was lots to eat- but by winter she knew that their resources would dwindle, and she couldn’t have that- not when her own pack’s survival could be jeopardized. And even though it wa likely too early to plan for it, Niamh intended to have children- and like hell she was going to starve while pregnant.

A male showed up, appearing from the shadows quietly, his eyes questioning her with a tough sort of sincerity. He looked the sort who could defend himself, but Niamh wasn’t intimidated. She remembered the way Hydra had held herself with a posture which proclaimed her regality, and borrowed it for herself, watching the speckled male approach with a calm but firm gaze and pricked ears. He questioned her, but in response her eyes were drawn to the pale female who showed up only seconds later, but her interest returned to the male. The small white female obviously deferred to him, so he was the one she planned to speak to.

”Niamh, of the Redhawks.” She said. ”And you?”

she arrived late, as she usually did these days.  she is silent as she moved up to her brother's shoulder, bristling with intention.  at least this way, three against one, there isn't a way that the pack wolf can hurt them.

she will let issun do the talking.  he is the leader here and she is still trying to figure out where exactly that leaves her.

his eyes drew over to laska, who approached to his side. he gave her shoulder a nudge. now that the numbers were in his favor, he felt much more relaxed.

she tells him she’s from the redhawks. it had to be that neighboring pack up north. had someone sent her to get info, to chase them out? if it was the latter of the two, then there was bound to be more lurking about. the warrior glanced around before replying, “issun.

his sister came to his other side. “she says she’s from the redhawks,” he informed just in case she missed it. “keep an eye out, there may be others.” he turns his attention back to niamh and asked, “what do you want?

Laska smiled at Issun when he nudged her and then returned her gaze back to the female in front of them. She pondered who the Redhawks were and who the female herself was and what she thought she was doing here. A snort was the only thing that came from Laska, letting Issun do what he does and talk to her. Hageshi came and then Issun had told her something in a language that was foreign to the snow queen.

She furrowed her brow for a moment and then returned her hard gaze, not showing any emotion again. Her tail thumped the ground irritatedly and she wondered how long the female was going to waste their precious time. They could be out hunting and marking the borders or recruiting but instead she's here and who knows what she's trying to do... disturb the peace is what.

He was very abrupt with his reply, which Niamh didn’t think was terribly wise- considering his meagre, fledgeling pack had chosen to settle within an easy journey of one which was large, and had several dedicated warriors. If anything, a wiser wolf would have been more respectful and wary while he only had a few wolves at his back. Niamh had an army. So even though she was outnumbered there, she knew full well that any trouble they gave her would be met by a downpour of vengeance as soon as she sent up a call. She still felt confident even though there were three of them and one of her.

The newest, at least, looked relatively peaceful and quite close with the male, Issun. She had an unusual coat pattern- sort of a skunk stripe down her spine that Niamh found both amusing and alluring, in its striking boldness. The tiny white female snorted and earned a look from Niamh, who narrowed her eyes at the petite femme who, she figured, should know better than to scoff at a stranger when their group was too small yet to even be considered a pack.

He spoke to the darker female in a language she didn’t understand- but she did like the way it flowed. The words were quick but soft, and very dissimilar from her mother tongue. Her ears pricked in curiosity; it was likely similar to the way the Redhawks would speak to one another with ptero, so strangers wouldn’t understand.

Still, despite the arrogant pale female’s snort and the subtle tap tap of her tail as though to show impatience, she gave him an answer. If they were to be a pack, that little female would have to learn to be patient- otherwise, she would easily bring a war upon them. How easy- and satisfying- it would be to bring just a few Redhawks and readicate them simply because the little female had been rude to her...But she tempered her ire; she herself was similar to Issun in nature when dealing with strangers at the borders, and the dark female at his side had a look about her that Niamh liked. She, at least, was being mature.

”I was just scouting for herds and came across your markings. As we currently share the Hinterlands, I thought it best to meet those who have claimed this forest.” She said. Pretty standard, rational answer. ”We live on the Heron Lake Plateau,” She said, gesturing in the direction of her pack. It was no secret, and she still saw np reason to feel threatened or hide information from such a small group of wolves. ”Have you branched out from another pack in the Valley, or are you loners?” She asked- wanting to know somply because their relationship would obviously be different had they come from an allied pack before deciding to settle off on their own.
