All Welcome
he's backkk

It was as the moon reached it's peak in the sky did Ezra finish his final patrol, the night enveloping him as he slunk to a resting position next to a tree not far from the den where his younger siblings slumbered. He had taken it upon himself to act as a set of watchful eyes during the night, a way to ensure that unwelcomed visitors were chased away and that none of the children wandered too far off.

Most nights were quiet and uneventful, this one however had a bit activity in the form of a rogue fox who stumbled too close for comfort. It only took a single glance in the uninvited guest's direction for it to go slinking off, leaving Ezra to the night's silence once more.

Arlette was always an active little girl. She was always jumping around and trying to explore as much as possible in her day. She divided her day with naps to counter her activeness. The darkness was settling and often her mother would let them sleep outside if they wanted to, especially during these cool summer nights. Sometimes she would curl up next to her mother inside of the den. Tonight was one of those nights.

Yet, after a short little nap, the female felt that she had enough energy to run around again. Perhaps there was someone to play with her. She popped her head out of the den to notice a shape sitting before the den. She sniffed and realized it was her older brother. Arlette went into a crouch and started to crawl towards him. She was focused on the male's tail. She dipped closer to the ground before making a jump forward and trying to jump his tail, and of course, bite it (playfully).

It was not difficult to spot the speck of porcelain against the inky backdrop and despite the desire to usher his sister back to the den, Ezra quickly caught onto her mischievous goal and allowed the youngster the freedom she sought. He acted oblivious to her intentions until she finally pounced for her target, only then did he move his tail just out of her reach.

A smile tugged at the edge of his lips while he watched for the girl's reaction out of the corner of his eye, tail beating teasingly on the ground while he tried to tempt her into another go at capturing her target.

Arlette hadn't realized that her brother had seen her. She thought she had his tail in her pocket but as she jumped there was nothing to grab. Her paws landed on the ground instead of on a tail. She looked surprised. Her head turned to him but then from the corner of her eye, she saw him move his tail. So inviting!

The girl instantly turned and tried to pounce on her brother's tail once more. She yipped excitedly. For her, this was all a fun game to play. She often tried to pounce on adults as it would instantly tell her if they wanted to play with her or not. It seemed her brother was willing enough.

Her abundance of energy reminded him fondly of Clary as he watched her ready herself to pounce once more. Ezra aimed to swing his tail out of her reach once again, though this time it was purposefully delayed and should she be quick enough, his sister would find herself successfully in her second attempt.

There was something thrilling even for him in this little game and despite being the target, he still found himself rooting for his sister.

Arlette squinted her eyes when the tail moved. She instantly tried to pounce on it again. The girl hadn't realized there was a delay and that was why her pounce had been successful. The girl gurgled in glee when she caught the bushy tail. She wagged her own eagerly as she tried to nip and mouth around the tail. It was very good for her self-esteem to have little victories like these. The girl noticed that it was quite difficult to grab such a big tail but she would definitely not stop trying. "Waaah!," she sounded her battle cry as she tried again.
