Set after their leaving thread - @Vaati @Damien @Aries

They arrived just a few hours before dawn, the raven having calmly settled between Nyx's shoulder blades. She didn't know why the raven had followed her in particular but didn't mind the company. On their way to the lake, she had thought of a name for the mysterious being; Tulugak. The trio hadn't talked much, Damien probably still a bit shaken from his experience in the void and Aries perhaps intimidated by Damien's presence. At least, that was Nyx's theory. And Nyx herself? Well, she wasn't a very talkative wolf to begin with. She was content with the silence and the soft cooing of the raven that had fallen asleep in her torn ear.

The lake shimmered under the clear night sky as was usual for the summer nights. And Vaati? Even with his white coat, Nyx couldn't spot him. She didn't know how awkward their encounter would become, hoping that their history in Damien's absence be forgotten so they could look towards the future.

Short short post!

It was the silence that allowed his mind to wander, though he did not permit his thoughts to slip from his own grip, as though he had chained them down so that he could remain focused on whatever it was he needed to be. The night soldier was guarded as always, but not visibly tense. He felt no words in particular needed to be shared, so his tongue remained still and no move was made to strike up conversation between the trio.

When the white male once part of their former home still hadn't showed up, Nyx started to doubt he would even come. She looked at her two comrades, one brow raising and rearranging the constellations of stars upon her forehead in a questioning manner. @Damien probably wasn't as soon to judge than his mate, and she was hoping he would calm her as they waited for @Vaati to show up.

With an echo of a pounding in his head remaining from his dangerous trans-dimensional journey Damien sought his mate. He had slept for an unnaturally long time that day and woke with a feeling of anxiety that he couldn't seem to shake off. It reminded him of the cold and the loneliness he felt in the void, filled with emptiness and desperation like he'd never felt before, but as he walked down the lakeshore the silhouette of the rest of his gang brought him a mild, yet soothing feeling.

still no sign of him? was the first thing he thought of asking as he approached the trio from behind. Vaati was a key part of the plan and without him Damien felt they would be severely crippled. But he knows his nephew is a wild card and has enough patience to allow him to arrive at his own time. For now they would scout and settle somewhere safe, and whenever he came to them the real action could begin. As he joined the group Damien eyed Aries, with whom he had to talk with about many things, but went straight to caress the soft fur behind the ear of his lover with his nose.

His interest had admittedly, begun to dwindle. Vaati was not an inviting presence that beckoned others to join their matriarchal cause and therefore, his skills as a recruiter were none and void. In contrast, his days were spent searching over every rock and crevice for that spineless cretin his sister had set him hunting for, as well as keeping an eye out for the corpse (or lack of) of the shrieking one, as Hydra had requested of him. Those were what his interests were tethered to, lacking in the department of Damien's visions of a Melonii-run establishment. However, Vaati acknowledged that he had made a vow -- he would see the rise of his bloodline to watch the fall of others in this lifetime or the next. A personal promise that served as a moral guide for what he did and where he roamed, something he could not easily give up to pursue other pursuits. And so, therefore, he made his way towards the scent of what was left of his family, silent as the questioning verbiage surrounding his sudden disappearance pierced the air in the distance. He was silent too as he parted the shadows to make his appearance, finding nothing of value to say to explain his momentary absence. Instead, intrigued ears swivelled atop his head before dropping his hind to perch lazily before his comrades, optics observing with mild interest what the meeting had to offer besides the topic of his own lack of presence.

Jumping out of order bc we kinda need this to keep going lol
@Nocturnal @Aries

And he finally showed. Paler even under the moonlight Vaati made his long expected entrance, and Damien's own moon eyes cast their light upon him. He had begun to feel that his nephew had lost interest in his cause and, in all honestly there was no way to judge him for that. It was stupid letting go of Blackfeather Woods instead of taking it back, but if asked Damien wouldn't hesitate to admit that his love for the land that saw him growing had dwindled ever since his first time away. There was more to discover, better things to achieve, and while he had his lover and his impetus Damien knew he was unstoppable.

It was about time you showed up, said his uncle with a hint of exasperation. We should move soon. We're too close to them, he said and it was obvious he meant the forest looming dark at their backs. There were still things that Damien would have to try to get back, but there would be time for that later.
