All Welcome
@Terance

The days were cooling off, a telltale sign that Autumn was here, and it was the season of impending frost. Despite the coolness of the air, Onyxia found it still warm enough to enjoy a late afternoon swim. She spotted the lake not far off from Emberlfame ridge, where she entered the territory. Her eyes lit up with delight as she bounded toward the lake without a second thought. The thoughts of the post-apocalyptic Lower Mainland was drawing further away from her mind faster than she assumed would happen.

She swam swiftly and athletically panting lightly with joy as the lake was actually still quite warm. The water was perfect! It wasn't long before she decided her fire was out and that she wanted to leave the water. She swam for another few moments before getting out and shaking herself dry. She spotted a large stick sitting a few feet away and darted toward it, as if it were prey. She was bored, and was in dire need of company, good or bad, just to keep her on her toes.

She lowered her body to the ground slowly as she held the thick stick in her jaws, and placed one end between her paws and knawed at it as if it was nothing. She peeled, and pulled, chewed and gnawed unaware that someone could be lurking nearby. She for once had let her guard down, and may have been vulnerable for a potential attack; although her back was facing the lake, she had eyes on the forest ahead of her. But even that may not have been good enough. But for now, she felt pretty secure in her surroundings. She had only met one other wolf since she had been here, and she helped the pack wolf out.

Shocked she had not yet met any others despite the place soaked with the scent of other wolves nearby, and many of them!

ah, but here came another one.

terance scaled down the side of sunspire, headed towards a valley to do some potential hunting. he was pretty hungry as of late, though some small game had returned, and like most sunspire wolves, terance needed to find a food source elsewhere.

he spotted the female from across one side of the lake, beginning to move around the shore curiously. she was playing, at least from what he could tell, and eventually settled to chew on whatever she grabbed-- as he drew nearer, he had deduced it was just a stick. no food. she was awfully close to sunspire territory but... well, honestly, terance wasn't sure he cared. she seemed harmless and they'd be leaving soon anyhow.

when he got close enough, still a good, unalarming distance away, terance gave a loud chuff, tail waving.

Her guard was totally down as she gnawed at the stick. Her teeth would peel away splinters and she'd spat out remains then gnaw at it some more, it was a great tooth cleaner and keeping them sharp.

The scent of another waft through her mares but she didn't see the male right away. It took and few glances as ehe proceeded to chew, and just as she glanced the last time, she jumped from her skin as he barked a greeting in her direction.

A little jumpy much?

How long was he watching her? She stood up and spun to face him, hackles raised, tail between her legs and ears flipped a few times. She looked more like as doe caught in the spotlight; startled as shit she looked as though she was caught doing something wrong. It was wrong to let your guard down in unfamiliar territory. She took a deep breath but that breath was cut off as she was short of breath, like a double take of inhale at once.

she observed he wasn't there to attack or chase her off. Indeed she was close to his turf, but she remained on the outskirts,  assuming it was safe? Ears perked with interest and her body became less tense and more relaxed seeing they were at a safe  distance from eachother. Hackles flattened as she subconciously shook out her reaction. He did give her a good fright. Lesson one: never let your guard down!

Hey, how's it going?

She casually woofed back trying to cover up her fright. She offered a wag of her tail in return. She subconciously placed a paw on the stick she was chewing on and threw it behind her with half a sheepish expression  written on her face.

terance gave a weak, apologetic smile, his head lowing in a dip to ask a silent forgiveness. "didn't mean to startle you," he said, voice deep and warm as it always was. it was less pitiful today than it had been lately, but of course, it was maybe understandable that terance had been so down in the dumps and mopey.

"i'm alright-- and yourself?" he returned the question, head raising along with his ears, which cupped forwards to better hear her response. and, finally, a formality. "my name is terance, of sunspire."

All Welcome
Hear ears picked up his chords. They were soothing and it reassured her that he wasn't there to harm her. She studied the handsome brute as they both seemed to step closer to one another as speech exchanged.

It's quite alright. It's good to have a good fright now and then to keep on your toes.

She teased light heartedly. She returned a smile as she stopped short a foot or two from facing him. Standing close enough for him to lunge at her, but something told her that he wasn't a trickster. She offered a friendly long wag of her tail.

Better than normal perhaps.. A pleasure to meet you Terance of Sunspire..... I love this place.  What do you call it? I'm Onyxia.

She gazed about waiting for an answer before her soft expression rested before him wagging her tail.

terance couldn't tell... it'd been a while since he'd had any truly lighthearted conversations... but was she-- flirting? or just extra peppy? he pondered it, wondering if it mattered, and noted how she again danced closer to him, this time close enough to touch, if he so chose to. he merely smiled at her comment, caught up in his own thoughts.

"onyxia," he observed gently, muzzle raising slightly in thought, "i don't have a name for it-- it's merely next door to my home." how boring, terance. this is why alya called you so boring all those years ago. how cruel to think of that now.

"why don't you name it?" he offered next, head tilting to one side.

Onyxia didn't realize that she was this close to his actual turf. Ears perked when he repeated her name, and her reply was a simple few wags of her tail. Her curiosity forced a head tilt as he mentioned for her to name the land they stood upon. Her thoughts drifted for a mere second as she thought of a name to call the place.

How about Pristine Lake?

It wasn't an overly fancy name or anything special, perhaps a bit generic? But it was what came to mind as she thought of it. A smile spread across her lips as her eyes eased back over onto the lake watching a few ripples from bugs kissing the surface. It was a wonderful evening, and it bore the promise of another wonderful day ahead the following day. Her eyes scanned back onto Terance, he was so handsome, and she could almost feel butterflies swarm her entire being what was that feeling?

How is it that you never named this place before?

Her eyes scanned him as she sat upon her haunches trying to hide her nervousness. She had a deep desire to go back into the lake before she embarrassed herself, her thoughts carefully assessing before speaking.

Would you like to go for a swim?

If he didn't she would stay and battle herself through potential embarrassment.
