All Welcome
a ghostly figure stalked among the moon-dappled crags, leathery nares flaring as it took in the scents that lingered there. the area was frequented by a number of wolves, and many of them seemed to come from the same pack. the male was pleased by this; it meant he was getting closer. he'd searched for many moons now for a place to stay that met all his requirements, and from what he'd found here, the pack nearby had the proper... demographics.

intent, now, the male picked his way along the path that many seemed to have taken, leaving the great stone altar behind to approach the high peak that seemed to spear itself up into the very sky. there in the foothills, he laid in wait, gathering what information he could from careful observation. some packs were easier than others to insinuate himself into.

Vela was extending her patrol into a neighboring territory. The female often moved into the neighboring lands to see if there was something that was of interest to Moonspear. Often the mountain range was empty. Not many of their kind wandered up a mountain. Vela liked it that way. Fewer trespassers. She couldn't remember ever encountering one. The speckled woman continued to travel down across the border. Sometimes the female even marked past the border to warn strangers of their presence.

The female kept her blue eyes alert as she scanned her surroundings while trotting. Her ears rotated on top of her head to listen for anything that was unusual. Her nose moved closer to the ground to see if there were any scents. Her nose did catch something that made her frown. Something was different. Her dark eyes glanced over her surroundings once more. There was another wolf close by, she was pretty sure of it.

he had not lingered long before the presence of another wolf interrupted his vigil. the male saw flashes of a pale pelt through the trees and crags as she moved through the territory, and at once, he was entranced. moving closer revealed more and more tantalizing glimpses of a speckled face, a neat, tapered flank, bright blue eyes -

a short, querying bark announced his presence. was this one of them? if she was not from the 'spear pack, he would have to abandon his plans to join them.

"you must have been born on the peaks of this range," he said as he approached, his steps light and his words playful, "to have been touched by the moon so palpably. you should have had a pelt as grey as mine, but the moon made you a pearl, and left only speckles of your true colors."

Vela's blue eyes fell on the male as a bark caught her attention. The female lifted her muzzle with regal nature. A scrutinizing gaze stayed on the male that approached. He started to speak. Vela was curious what he had to say. She slowly frowned as he stepped closer. She flashed her teeth as a warning that he should stay at a distance.

The male continued to talk about her coat. The female didn't believe in such nonsense. She didn't turn pale because of the moon. The moon was high in the sky and never reached their lands. She disagreed with the male. "No, my father has this coloring and I've got it from him,' she stated and looked disapprovingly at the male. "Why are you so close to Moonspear's lands?," she questioned.
